Yesterday's introduction of the lithe, stealthy Assassin enemy for the next Wolfenstein game is balanced by the raw, brutal fury of the Altered.

The Altered might not be nearly as impressive as the invisi Nazi-ninja Assassins, but they look to make up for it in terms of raw power. Every first-person shooter these days needs a giant ugly brute enemy, generally extremely daunting the very first time you encounter them before quickly losing their charm. "Oh look, it's another big creature that runs right past me if I step out of the way" sort of thing. Who knows? Maybe the Altered are completely different from what I am expecting...or maybe they're just another entry in an increasingly long list of shiny, fleshy, roaring hunk-of-flesh monsters.
