Yeah, you knew the members of Metallica did some motion-capture work for Guitar Hero: Metallica, but did you know they did it while performing every song from the game "live"?
So why didn't they just film them, save themselves a few months of animation work?
Probably as a courtesy. Digital James Hetfield is far spunkier (and youthful!) than real James Hetfield.
