    Yes, Yakuza 3 Is Japan's Bestselling Game... But What About Halo Wars?

    It's no secret that Sega's Yakuza 3 (AKA Ryu Ga Gotoku 3) has sold 372,000 copies in its debut week. That's expected. The Yakuza series does well over there. But what about Halo Wars?

    Unfortunately, Microsoft did not pull off an upset with Halo Wars as it did with Halo 3, which secured the #1 position when it launched in October of 2007. Ensemble Studios' real-time strategy swansong charted at #14, with under 16,000 copies sold.

    That's not going to move Xboxes the way Star Ocean 4 did nor how we expect Yakuza 3 to move PlayStation 3s. At least Halo Wars fared better than the seemingly ill-advised Xbox 360 port of Way of the Samurai 3...

    The latest Media Create charts show solid sales for a slew of new games in Japan, most of which you're unlikely to see on these shores. The bestselling games for the week of February 23rd to March 1st are after this.
