Every night, we flip on the news — Mrs. Bashcraft listens to it while making dinner. Mini-Bash plays with his toys or makes something, but also tunes in, watches.
This afternoon, he decided he wanted to send a letter to Grandma. Better yet, he wanted to send money to Grandma.
"The economy is bad in America," he told me.
Grandma is okay, I replied.
He scribbled on some paper, asked me how to write "Here is money" in English, gathered up all the loose US coins he could find. The grand total? 83 cents. Let's hope grandma doesn't spend that all in one place.
