Jamzy Is All Over This NXE Stuff

The NXE didn't just hit in the US and Europe. It hit the world over. How's the rest of the world taking things? Well, if Jamzy's any indication, the rest of the world is doing just fine, thank you very much. As you can see by our favourite Japanese Xbox 360 fanboy's eerily life-like avatar.

Wonder if those hair options were included in the NXE just for Jamzy? We'd like to think so.

Activision Change Baja Box Art To Beat Lawsuit

If you can't beat 'em...fix whatever it was they were complaining about so you don't get your ass sued. That about sums up this move by Activision, which has seen the mega-publisher avoid a lawsuit with THQ over the box art to racer Baja 1000. While the original art was almost a direct rip-off of THQ's Baja game - and was likely to see Activision have to face some kind of punishment - the game's cover has since been changed. And, ironically, in the process been improved. Everybody wins. Especially this game, which without this lawsuit would have come and gone without a single one of you noticing it's passage.

Black Friday

Research Says 46% Of Shoppers Looking To Buy A Console On Black Friday

With Black Friday almost upon you (no such shenanigans in non-thanksgiving-giving countries such as Aus), research firm Consumer Reports have got into the spirit of things by publishing a report on projected consumer spending. In other words, what people will be loking at spending their money on come next Friday. Turns out they'll be spending it on Wiis, PS3s and 360s. 46% of those polled said that, when they hit the shops on November 28, they'd be shopping for a games console. 46%. Blow that figure out across the US (even accounting for the fact the total number must surely be slightly lower) and that's a ton of people in the market for a games machine. Hope the three platforms have their trousers pressed and their shoes polished, because with that kind of money up for grabs, they're going to need to make an impression.

GTA IV PC Video Editor Can Make Your Innuendo Filled Video Dreams Come True

You might not think much of the video editor that Rockstar Games is including in the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV, but this video, titled "Gutterballs," might just change your mind. It's just one of many that the developer has released to promote the Windows only feature and its groin-heavy focus may just make it the best. Kudos for keeping it highbrow, Rockstar.

Capcom

So, What Old Capcom Game Do You Want Remade Next?

Capcom have gone a little remake mad. Bionic Commando Rearmed, Mega Man 9, they're falling over themselves trying to put out new versions of old games. And now, they want your help. An innocent-looking post on the Capcom blog asks "what games do YOU think Capcom should revisit?". Know that when a company PR man asks that question on a company PR blog, it's not for the purposes of idle chit-chat. They really want to know. I would suggest you all head over and let your voice be heard, but instead, I'll ask you not to, so as you don't drown out the next sentence.

Ahem. Captain Commando, please.

GTAIV DLC Announced: "Lost And Damned", Out In Feb 09

A USA Today report is the setting for the announcement of Grand Theft Auto IV's long-awaited piece of downloadable content. Titled "Lost and Damned", the DLC will be available on February 17, and will leave Niko's story behind (though he will make a few cameo appearances) to follow the exploits of Johnny Klebitz, a member of the Lost biker gang that the game's radio channels liked to talk about so much. Rockstar's Dan Houser:

Johnny is a very different character than Niko, with a very different background. I can't go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released. But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City.

The USA Today report also says the expansion will "let you download more sandbox time", Houser elaborating "We feel like we've only scratched the surface in terms of the depth and detail in [Liberty City]".

Playstation Portable

Here's A (Sort Of) New PSP Bundle

A moment's silence for the deceased PSP/4GB bundle. It was taken before its time. While Sony saw fit to publicise one bundle's demise, however, a new bundle has arrived on the scene completely unannounced. Looking a lot like the PSP/Ratchet & Clank deal from a few months back (because it essentially still is the same deal), this new offer includes a black PSP-3000, instead of a silver one, and includes a voucher for Everyday Shooter instead of a voucher for Echocrome. Everything else - National Treasure, Ratchet & Clank, $199 - remains the same.

Halo 3

Please Don't Install Halo 3 On Your 360's HDD

While the NXE's ability to let you install 360 games to your HDD is mostly a good thing (no more disc read errors at my house), it's been revealed that there's a few hiccups. You'd think that copying a game to your 360's hard drive would speed things up. Faster load times, that kind of thing. But in some cases it doesn't. Especially when it comes to Halo 3. Tests have already shown the game runs faster on disc than it does on HDD, and today Bungie have come out and confirmed this. Confirmed it, and explained it. More »

MOrtal Kombat vs DC

Let's Watch Every Single MK vs DC Fatality

Midway probably won't be happy at the lost rental revenues (why else would you pick the game up?), but whatever. Here's a clip showing every single fatality that can be performed in Mortal Kombat vs DC. Even the Joker's move that was cut from the US version. Some of them are pretty neat, but for a game involving comic book superheroes, we were hoping for a little showmanship.

LittleBigPlanet Gets Resistance DLC To Celebrate...Thanksgiving

You may as well settle in. Just like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, it looks like LittleBigPlanet will be bringing us enough DLC to justify multiple posts a week on the subject. Today's comes courtesy of Sony Japan, who - bless them - love to announce their DLC ahead of time. Next week, two new LBP costumes will be made available in Japan; a turkey head, and a Resistance 2 outfit. Given the timing, we'll assume that the turkey head is to symbolise thanksgiving, and given the particularly American nature of that holiday, we'll assume it'll be available in the US next week too. Can't see why it wouldn't bring the Chimera head along with it.
