You knew it had to happen eventually. The cover of the latest issue of the UK's PSM3 magazine features a story on the PlayStation 3 version of just about everyone's 2007 Game of the Year BioShock. According to CVG, whose network PSM3 is part of, the issue will feature a lengthy preview of the PS3 version of the title along with a slew of screenshots.
The title blurb on the front of the cover boasts "Why Xbox's best shooter is better on PS3", possibly suggesting additional content for the new version, but as of right now details are scant. Here's hoping for a better ending!
The next issue of PSM3 is due out June 5th. We would expect the official announcement to follow soon after.
Now while CVG lists this as official confirmation, we're going to go ahead and add the rumor tag on this post until we are 100% positive, just to be on the safe side.

I bought this on PC. And loved it. If they have the right stuff in there, i may just buy it again.
Yeah..EGM also has it on their cover on the top right hand side...very small. I first saw it yesterday and freaked out. I've not read the story they've written just yet...but I was excited to hear that it's coming over to the PS3. Maybe some non 360/PC gamers will finally get a chance to play this awesome game!
oh for god sake, YES. I've been banking on a PS3 port, which is why I never played it on my shitty PC. I dont have a 360, you see.
I've got the 360 version already...in this case, I may just have to get the PS3 version and trade the 360 version in to help pay for it. BioShock is great, and you're doing yourself a total disservice if you don't play it.

Very cool. I already have it for the PC, but for other PS3 owners this is fantastic news. If you haven't played it yet, it is a must buy.

Oh happy day, another thing that demands the use of my money. I'll never afford food at this rate.
Bio-Shock is/was a great game. I'm sorry I never got to finish it before my 360 died for the 4th time. I lost interest in going back to it after that. I hope they do add some new content, as I would for sure be interested in finishing the game at some point.
Anyhow, looks like good news for people who only own a PS3, as (if done well) this is a great game on the way.

That would at least shut up the idiots crying about HAZE being in 576p and that being the PS3's fault and it's exclusive and was so important and blah blah blah.
On a serious note though, nothing bad can come of this for the PS3. I mean, the game will be just as great as it was on PC/360. I might buy it, *might*, however as I played it a few months ago my interest isn't out of the ordinary.
@enewtabie: Mass Effect would shine on a PS3 release. If any game needs a hard drive installation, it's Mass Effect. And this would hardlyv be surprising, isn't Mass Effect 2 going multiplat?

j/k! I love BioShock and I would probably buy it again if there was some worthwhile new content- IF they don't offer whatever new stuff they add as DLC for the 360.

Great news for non-360/high-end PC owners. Bioshock was one of my favorite games of last year and everyone should really get a chance to experience.
Of course this is bad news for anyone who wanted to have some nice conversation on any video game message board because the the fanboys are going to out in full force today.
Good for you exclusive PS3 owners! Maybe if you're lucky you'll get to play it under a year after everyone else!

OMG yes I am so going to get for the PS3 then. I know I liked playing it on the 360 but this RRoD business. How can I enjoy a game when the system dies much quicker than its supposed to.
I must be one of the few people that wasn't super impressed by Bioshock. I thought it was an excellent game but I personally felt that Mass Effect was a much better overall product, I've played through that game so many times compared to my own playthrough of Bioshock before selling it back.
At least people who don't have a PC or 360 can play it.

It is funny how close to a year the two versions came out. 360/PC in August 07, PS3 in September 08, if the rumors are true. Maybe it was just an issue of paid moneyhatting to keep it exclusive for a year.
In any case, 2K pretty clearly wants PS3 owners to experience the original game so they have a framing for the story and Rapture itself. Once that's established, it's no trouble at all bringing the sequel to a happier, bigger post-MGS4 PS3 environment.

I don't think the game will be crap on the PS3, really. The devs are too good for that.
I already beat it on 360, I don't know if it'll be worth it to buy it for PS3. This is good news for PS3 owners who haven't experienced it.

I'm betting that if there is any extra content, it'll be additional plasmid/weapon packs, like the bonus content for the PC/360 version.
I downloaded it for the 360 and never got around to playing it...I think I'll buy it for the PS3 when it comes out...
I just hope it runs better than Oblivion did...the only correlation being that it was ported to the PS3...but still, there has not be the best track record for games being ported from PC based games to PS3 cell architecture.

Lol its not gonna have multiplayer! Bioshock multiplayer would be pretty much impossible. It's a game that is not made for multiplayer. Maybe online co op though.

@chrisgriner: Umm, excuse me but, what was wrong with Oblivion again? I played it for hours and never noticed a glitch.
There have been good ports on PS3 people. Oblivion, Fight Night... Hell the Orange Box (minus TF2 of course) seemed OK to me. Some framerate issues there and there but it was fine. If Bioshock is like HL2 I have no problem paying for it.
Dual shock/sixaxis is still not good enough for shooters.
