Newly minted Kotakuite Beatboxtaun sent me a pic last night of this super cool Mike Tyson's Punch-Out scarf. Turns out that Beatboxtaun ( a fellow El Pasoan) sells hand-made, game-themed scarfs on Etsy. My personal fave? The Mega Man though the Mario Power-Up has all kinds of cool too knitted into it too.
The 65-inch or so scarfs run $75 to $175, pricey yes, cool, also yes. Hit the jump for more pics of more scarfs.

Why's megaman X on a megaman 2 scarf? These have lost all credibility, we must burn them.
I remember these from a Kotaku post a while back. Seeing this again, though, reminds me of how awesome girl gamers are.
@SkutSkut: LoL
Those would be good, if it hadn't started getting warm again.
@SkutSkut: Hahahaha >< Agreed !
So, this person lives in El Paso?
I will totally drive the 25 minutes to go buy one in person! They're totally "cool"! . . . ummm. . .
@SkutSkut: LOL
also PUNCH OUT SCARF! DO WANT!!!!!
Being this is made from a el pasoan is pretty funny as it would probably getting little to no use there. Except in November, December, and January and possibly February. Okay so it's not really cold there but when it does go low temps it's cold to us sheesh!Don't judge me.
How much for the girl?
Am I the only person who laughs at the irony of a texan knitting scarves? Why the hell you you texans need them? It's WARM.
I'll be buying one for Seattlle winters.
Hmm... Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday,... and then yes, Monday. :) FUN.
@A Pimp Named DaveR:
Ok I was thinking it but you said it.
Wow, those are really really cool. The Mike Tysons Punch Out! and Mega Man scarfs are FTW!!!!
"Gaming Scarfs for the Wealthy and Cold"
...and that, with the exception of the super cool mushroom/star one, also make you look poor.
wow,75 for a scarf? too rich for my blood.
"He's hurt me, Doc!" "Don't give up, Mac! Fight!!"
@Mr.DuckSauce:
Don't shop at Macy's then. Last scarf I saw there was sixty. They go up from there.
AWESOME! Welcome to Kotaku, Beatboxtaun. That's quite an introduction. :)
@karasu is my homeboy: Well that and you just bought a 75 dollar scarf on a Gamer's budget. :P
@A Pimp Named DaveR: She looks hot, but then it's getting difficult to say with all those scarves that cover her.
Well done, and just so you all know, El Paso does get cold, as do some parts of Texas.
Also, is there any hope for other scarf styles? lets say a Duck Hunt one? As I think that would be pretty sweet.
@SkutSkut: It's (read: pathetically) sad, but that's actually keeping me from buying that scarf right at this moment.
If it was the titular character from the second game in the series, I'd jump on it in a heartbeat.
I am most definitely going to jump on the first "Punch-Out!!" scarf...
...when I have enough money to blow on a $175 scarf. C'mon economic stimulus package!
@Charlie Kerfelds Jetsons Tee: It's not sad, us megaman fanactics are crazy about our megamans, I have em all but the Battle Network games and still play em occasionally. Probably play through 2 again in a few minutes.
My music library is mostly megaman stuff too.
Good job besides the blazing megaman error though Beatboxtaun. All the boss characters are in their pre-battle poses, which is good. And the other scarves are great as well.
@SkutSkut: Ugh. To have Quick Man on a scarf! It's beautiful!
As cool as they are, still not as cool as the Dr Who scarf my wife made me.
i love that first scarf. this post has not only fantastic scarves, but an attractive female and an alternate acceptable plural form of the word "scarf".
uh, i just reread my post and it seems kind of sarcastic, but i don't mean it to be. i genuinely am excited about all these things. is there such a thing as a "genuineness" tag to counter the sarcasm tag?
we need a battletoads scarf.
@thaKingRocka:
that would be "/win" I believe.
White people like scarves:

I found this out today. Very timely.
...I paid 50pence for my scarf. It's green and made of wool. It gets the job done and people won't throw rocks at me for wearing it.
i want one of kid icarus
@A Pimp Named DaveR: arent they included?
LAME
I wonder if she could make me a pair of jean shorts. Maybe with a star on the front.
These are cute and all, but I live if FL, lol. I have more use for the Mario corset. :-p
*seriously- these are pretty cool. Good job!
@Menolly:
Yeah, never seen someone on a beach in FL wearing a bikini or speedo and a scarf.
Don't want to either.
El Chuco Represent
The desert nights get freaking cold!!
Nintendo won't come after you for using their property and making money on it? I think the scarves are cool,but I imagine the business might get halted.
@Eville1: Lol- that's a scary thought. I actually could have used one a few nights back, now that I think about it. It was cold at night for a few days.
@EDread83: They do in the Mojave too. Freakin freezing. Thank god I'm somewhere else now. It stays cold pretty much year round in Seattle.
@Menolly:
For a few days? For A FEW DAYS?
Bah.
I'd be happy if it were pleasantly warm up here for a few days. About two summers ago the entire three months was above 80 degrees. My god that was heaven.
Hahaha- it's hotter that hell now. I prefer mid seventies with low humidity.
Repsot this in November, please. Just thinking about wearing a scarf is making me sweat... or is it the really attractive woman wearing it?
I believe Heatman was from Mega Man 3, wasnt he?
I don't know why she has X with regular megaman enemies.
forget the scarf, how much for the girl
65 inches? The prices could be a lot more reasonable if there were, ya know, a reasonable length. I'd buy one if I had a giraffe gamer friend, if they existed.
Geeky, but cool.
Why is everyone nitpickuing about the little things?!?
So X is on the Mega Man one. If its that much of a big deal then you can just go get that other one that has the correct mega man on it......oh thats right there isnt any other place to get these other than making them yourselves. And if you can make them yourself then by all means go out and get your wool and make one that is correct.
Personally they are a bit pricey for me but if that was not a factor i would purchase one, cause i havent found any like these anywhere else.
Considering these are homemade by one of us and not made by some huge corporation selling them at Hot Topic, i believe we can let the X issue slide.
@EDread83: Hopefully, they're being jokingly geeky... and not reacting like the Star Wars freaks who flipped out at Sam Jackson having a purple lightsaber.
I will be selling my MS paint drawings of Atari 2600 games for the low LOW price of 12.5 cents.
For only 1 bit, you can own a piece of history!
To the new member knitting these, great job. I only wish I had the skill to create something other than wordy and sarcastic blog posts.
@EDread83: X is a different franchise! on a different console! This is totally different than light saber colors! The prequels sucked anyway!
@enewtabie: agreed nintendo is very protective of thier properties... shame on her for stealing them shame on any one who buys them
@SkutSkut: Thanks bud, but i dont need the history lesson on Mega Man. I am just saying that isnt such a big thing considering we are talking about scarves. And i agree the prequels sucked.
And this, my dear friends, is what is considering pornography in the knitting/crocheting world.
