Sorry, Britain. Forgot to do the charts last week. Was too busy playing GTA IV. I'm sure you'll forgive me, though, since it seems that's all you've been doing as well, with both versions (predictably) occupying the top two spots, and doing an awfully splendid job of keeping Wii Fit out of the #1 position. Equally splendid is the disappearance of the DS Mario & Sonic game and the Brain Training sequel, meaning - for at least last week, anyways - the charts have a fresh look about them. Like an old friend with a new haircut.
British Individual-Format Charts
1) GTA IV (360)
2) GTA IV (PS3)
3) Wii Fit
4) Wii Play
5) Mario & Sonic at the Olympics (Wii)
6) Gran Turismo 5 Prologue
7) Mario Kart Wii
8) Brain Training
9) Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 (Wii)
10) Cooking Mama 2

Is that the original RRR?
Either way it's surprising.
But I did enjoy that game.
Could be that the Rabbids got a price cut. Sonic And The Secret Rings charted too once it got cheaper as did quite a few other Wii games. Hopefully that tells publishers how to price some of their Wii efforts if they want them to sell.
Cooking Mama? 2? Come oon I want a review of this game! Must be great if it is a top seller in Britain!
Missed the first one, unfortunately :/
ahhh...refreshing indeed! :)
Why is the market saturated with rubbish Wii games?
Oh yeah, because 'the Wii user is not a hardcore user'.
:P
Good to see GTA4 there, I am sick of seeing the Wii dominating the games charts... Pity it wont last!
I'll try and help keep it at the top by finally getting round to buying my copy this week.
@KroKan:
I've got to pick it up for my stepdaughter for her birthday.Looks fun enough.
Good to see two PS3 titles in the top 10.Not a big surprise about GTA4 though.
the wii will soon rule the world... you'll see...
I imagine the only reason wii fit is not on the top spot is because it is sold out nearly everywhere...
Glad to see GTA4 has done so well though, not my kind of game, but is a big deal for many. Lets see if Age of Conan brings a PC title back in soon!
HAHA STUPID PS and MICRO FUCKERS!
@One Way Mule: No, its Rabbids 2. Typo. Sorry!
Rabbids 2 has been advertised on the TV which normally guaranties decent sales (very annoying ad though)
Is that a Triumph Herald in the background?
Oh Nintendo! *face palms* Ur Ca$h-a77 Ga//\3 t3h boggling my mind!
(and yes I suck at Leet-speak so I gave up :p)
So in other words Nintendo is still pissin on Sony and Microsoft's faces saying "We may not have number 1 or 2 spot, but in overall sales we are kicking your asses all over Britain!"
@Jnkzm4: Well that's all relative. Can you say that number 3 to 10 combined is equal to the sales generated by either 1 or 2? I dunno...
Where's boom blox better than any other wii title on that list.
@yarmy: On the left? Could be. The one to the right of the bloke looks like a Lotus Cortina.
@okenny :): There ARE game sales beyond the top ten, you know.
@megaStryke: Context.
This is an article about the top 10 sales. Hence, he is talking about the top 10, you know, the topic of the article. I'm fairly certain Okenny is well aware there are games beyond the top 10; but they just aren't relevant here.
(Sure I'll get roasted for this but...)
Am I the only Brit who is proud of our charts each week. Not only am I fan of nearly all those games, but they show DIVERSITY. I'm glad it's not just shooters, or just sports or whatever.
What the British charts constantly show in my opinion is the widening demographic of gamers here in the UK, and I for one greet it with open arms.
My mother has played games for years, but I like to think maybe other mothers, or people who wouldn't normally play games are getting and playing games too.
@KafkaTamura: It helps them being a lot cheaper as well :/.
OMFG WTF!!! That picture was taken at the bottom of my road!! WHAT THE HELL?! :|
-Rich-
360 GTA tops? I thought the PS3 outnumbered the 360 in 'jolly 'ol England chap".
@Klopfer123: I guess, but cheap rubbish is still rubbish.
Mario and Sonic Olympic games is STILL on the chart! That just proves that great games sometimes take a backseat to name recognition. Geez...
