Niko Bellic's San An Flight Priced By Airways

So Niko's got a ticket to San Andreas, does he? No wonder, at these crazy prices. Reader Timmy spotted this billboard while cruising around Bohan, advertising cheap flights to Los Santos for only $299. Now, this is most likely just some cute inter-series referencing, but hey, if any of you want to keep on speculating that San An will be the setting for the next instalment in this generation's series (I seem to remember Vice City travel ads in GTA III, for example), go right ahead.

[Thanks Timmy!]

  • :( I was looking forward to Vice City.. always been my favorite. Bright, colorful, and sunny!

  • Notice it says "from" $299. That flight of course includes 12 layovers in places such as Spain and Chile.

  • I'd reckon $50 million buys you a ticket to San Andreas DLC.

  • There was the mission in GTA: San Andreas where you get to visit Liberty City. Anything is possible.

  • ps3 new price drop this year.

  • If you browse the internet in game at some point you find another reference to San Andreas. I don't exactly recall what it was...maybe in the travel section?? I'm sure I saw it though.

  • I'd imagine there will be future "expansions" of GTA4 that will take place in other cities, like they did with GTA1 (GTA: London 1961 and London 1969) and GTA3 (Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories)

  • I'm liking the idea of DLC Los Santos.
If they do that then it'll most likely be just Los Santos in DLC form instead of San An. but just think, if they enlarge the city, put the GTA IV detail in it and add some swank cars, ohhh man.

  • I would like to see GTA go to a different state besides the bizarro versions of New York, Florida, and California. Shit maybe even another country altogether. Yeah...probably won't happen.

  • Yeah. We're probably going to get stuck with the New York, Los Angeles, and Miami's when it comes to GTA. It'd be nice to see Chicago or something, or heck even D.C.

  • I'd like to see GTA: London again.

  • @Mikey G: Already went to London. But I like how it's going now. The areas have a lot of characters and history. That's just me though. :( It'd be cool to go to Cuba or somewhere really depressing. A more politically themed GTA (more than GTA IV).

  • @JoshuaB81285: Oh yeah. Give FOX News Chicago GTA: Chicago to devour. I've already had enough of their propaganda for this decade.

Also, we still haven't seen San Andreas Stories. I wouldn't doubt Rockstar North still wouldn't be picking at that idea from time to time.

  • @Voteforme2020: It's called "Just Cause" >_>

  • I highly doubt the 360 exclusive content would be something as large another city. The amount of money they would make off releasing that as a standalone makes the 50 million from microsoft sound laughable.

  • is this on both versions of the game or only on the 360 version? if it's just on the 360 it may very well be something related to the DLC! Rockstar representatives have said in the past that the DLC would be to GTA IV what San An and Vice City were to GTA III! so anything's possible!

  • @Voteforme2020: Yeah that would be cool. Get to fly between the Caribbean islands via plane or heli. I would like to see London revisioned with all the upgraded hi-jinks. Perhaps even Germany, France. In any case I agree; Liberty City definetly has a fleshed out feel.

  • I agree with Detre, it is EXTREMELY unlikely that the 360 DLC will be a new location. Im almost positive it will just be extra missions/new short story in the same locations, possibly some new vehicles.

  • @JoshuaB81285:

Yea. Personally I'd love to see a Las Vegas version.

Huge Casinos, bright lights, sin city.

  • @Payne_IV:

London would be pretty neat although I'll happy wait a few generations for the capabilities and storage to increase enough to model it in even greater detail than Liberty City.

Wish there would just be an announcement on the DLC. Can't see how it helps MS by keeping quiet if it's all these shades of awesomeness that the rumours keep implying.

  • @Detre: i disagree! releasing as standalone would probably cost even more due to physical storage and packaging costs! digital distribution is cheaper! and if GTA IV sells more on the 360 they may see some serious profit from it!

  • There's a billboard just like that for vice city in the game also

  • Next-Gen San Andreas would be awesome, but I'd like to see them make a GTA that features a city outside of the US. Paris, London, Tokyo would be great choices.

  • @Detre:
You know, I thought that for a while, too. And then someone flipped the logic. "There's no way in hell Microsoft paid 50 million for some jackets, extra chase missions or guns."

And its' true. 50 million + whatever they want to charge for DLC, say, 800 to 1600 MS points for an extra city, while putting pressure for people to buy bigger hard drives? It's a win for literally everyone. I don't doubt it anymore.

I think it's laughable to think we're just getting some extra missions, personally.

@henri1kk: This. Smart question. Someone find out quick.

  • @Jeff Paine: Just Cause sucked major. Also, that was a war game, this would have the character more as a terrorist against his own government or something along those lines. At least if I had my way.

  • I'm still waiting for GTA Tokyo, that city is so immense and it would look fricken wonderful at night just driving down the street. Heck, or even GTA Hong Kong or something, just some large extravagent looks great at night city.

  • @dead_red_eyes:

OH GOD THAT WAS A FUN MISSION.

too bad you couldn't like, walk around the city & such. O_o

  • @JoshuaB81285:
Carcer city is supposedly modeled after Detroit. :o

    *sorry for double posting*

  • this means... HD drive bys! YAH!!!!!!!

  • We could also see parts of San Andreas released as DLC. We still don't know what that is going to be exactly. That would be pretty sweet.

There will be a GTA "Tokyo" someday. Bet on it. Save this comment if you must. (What it's actually called is anyone's guess, which is why I put it in quotes.)

My guess is Tokyo is the next GTA game, for reasons which I can't really make clear in a blog comment.

  • That 50 million entails two expansions correct? I'm seriously wagering that it would a very well be San Andreas and Vice City, the city of Los Santos at the very least. The 6 month delay must've also allowed their 3D asset teams to build even more stuctures.

  • Vice City was nice and all, and I understand GTA San Andreas was fun and all, but I'm really not into the sunny-beachy kinds of settings, especially retro sunny beachy. I'm hoping they move the next game out of the US. Lets see some football hooligans.

More than anything, I'm hoping they don't go back to Italian mobsters or a Boys in the Hood kind of scenario again. I'm really enjoying GTA4's take on things, especially Radio Vladivostok. I wish they had more songs on that station. It has a much more worldly feel to it. The other games felt like I was just listening to regular old radio with better commercials.

I really just wish that the GTA series would do a take on Boston. I've had enough of Los Santos to last a lifetime.

Then again, if this is the 360's DLC, it won't effect me, so I'm keeping my interest low.

  • I'd rather them to San Andreas next and THEN Vice City. You know, mix it up a bit.

  • There's a huge problem with going to London.. it's called Getaway. Also, not to spam or flame, but they better not add extra cities in DLC unless the PS3 gets it too. :(

  • New cities as DLC's?! There's no way in hell. The only awy that's even remotely possible is if they have VERY small sections of those cities for the mission to take place.

    YCS

  • @Voteforme2020:

GTA went to London before the Getway did :)

I like the Getaway series by the way, just clarifying that they don't "own" the rights to having a game set in London. I think Getaway games have looked a lot more realistic than GTA games. Gameplay wise? It can't compete with GTA as it's a very linear game. If I could have the graphics of a Getaway game with the gameplay of a GTA game I'd be in sandbox heaven.

  • I recall their being Vice City Ads of the exact same nature in one of the first videos that were released for GTAIV. Look it up! I am 100% positive. Maybe they changed the Ad's to Los Santos in the final game, but I remember watching the 1up analyzation videos where they pointed out the Vice City sign that said "from $299" on it. Ironically enough when i saw that video I automatically assumed that that $50 million dollars was going towards Exclusive Vice City DLC for the 360...

  • I heard one of the npc's saying something about their sister was in San Andreas when she answered her cell in the game.

  • Hells yeah! Lots of good memories in San Andreas.

  • @LittleBigPlaneteer: Great to know someone else that enjoyed the Getaway. I remember it having lukewarm reception here in the states for not being GTA. Now, that I think about it GTA4 feels a bit like the Getaway, but with better graphics and way more things to do and play around with.

  • i would much rather catch a flight to vice city. here's to hoping they make that happen.

  • @henri1kk: Last time i checked Ps3 also had digital distribution.@karasu is my homeboy: I agree i dont think 360 owners are going to get just guns and clothes and things like that, but i seriously doubt after the amount of money they just made releasing the game on both consoles that they would then turn around and release such a massive expansion for just one console. Its not good business imo. I think the 360 might get a new area/island for liberty city but i doubt it will get something as huge as an entire city via dlc.

  • @LittleBigPlaneteer: Popular opinion. I know it did, and you know it did, but most people only know GTA III. They can do it, but it would be awkward if the Getaway 3 (or whichever they're working on) came out the same year. All I'm saying. I was a fan of the first Getaway... The second one went to hell in my mind, but the first one was a gem.

  • As long as they don't release GTA: Kansas where one of the missions is protecting the corn crop from intruding crows and using a combine harvester in low speed chases.....although I do recall a combine harvester being used rather well in Carmageddon so it could work. All I know is whatever Rockstar decide to release in terms of add-on's, they will do it well and the majority will be happy.........can't wait.

  • I hope they don't do San Andreas again, as awesome as that game was. I hope they do something new, like Chicago, or maybe Seattle or even Hawaii. They haven't done London in 3D yet, so I guess that would be cool too. But, what I really want to see is something completely different, like the turn of the century, the 1930s (since LA Noire will never come out), or the Wild West. Grand Theft Covered Wagon would be so badass.

  • Don't get your hopes up guys. There's also an ad for a flight to "Vice City" at a price of $300. This can be found just outside the airport on the eastern most island.

  • Wait, so we sill play as Niko? Okay, I could dig that. I'm pretty much almost done the story and Niko is one sick character. I love these choices at the end that impact the storyline. Rockstar did a hell of a job. I'm definetialy going to buy the next GTA.
