What, me worry? Activision CEO Bobby "Robert" Kotick says the game industry is not headed for a slowdown. Things are buzzing! Fear not!! In a conference call, Kotick said:
The video-game market fundamentals have never been stronger. There's no evidence that this growth will slow... A lot of this growth is coming from consumers who are experiencing video games for the first time.
Nothing, we mean nothing, will wipe that shit-eating grin off Kotick's face. Ever.
No Signs of Slowdown [Reuters]

Why do the red eyes look so natural on him?
@Spartan1308: could be the red background, or that he is evil incarnate... take your pick.
@Spartan1308: Didnt even notice them until your comment.
"A lot of this growth is coming from consumers who are experiencing video games for the first time."
I disagree, I think that a lot of gamers are older now an have more disposable income and are buying more games.
So why isn't the CEO of Midway or Atari on the cover?.
I know its just a simple statement, but why is this man so bubbly?.
I'm a video-game market fundamentalist, ya'll! Start runnin'!
I think the market for Activison might be slowing down, if they didn't have Infinty Ward in pocket they would have nothing. Guitar Hero Aerosmith does nothing for me and even EA ran Tony Hawk into the ground with Skate.
I seriously wonder if the ESA actually kicked Activision to the curb because of this guy.
The only reason GH3 sold so well was the new wireless guitar and b/c it came out BEFORE Rock Band. GH Aerosmith is gonna be a big flop. I might rent it, no way I purchase it. GH4 is their only hope, perhaps adding drums and vocals can save the franchise, but I doubt it. Just keep running them franchises into the ground Activision....
Slowdown? I hope there will a full-grown crash like the one in the 80s.
And I hope the Market will soon be over-saturated by first person war/millitary shooters, so that people finally lose interest in them and are absorptive for other genres.
I so sick and tired of FPS... So that is it we all need NEXT GEN CONSOLES for? There's no other way to show of their graphical expertise? At times, at least, it unfortunately seems so.
@Mlata: I find myself in agreement with Mlata here. Until I remembered that my favourite game of all time (I've said this a lot), is a game that utilizes (haha, dino-joke "uses") several FPS aspects.
Metal Gear Solid.
