Looks cool. That's all I'm gonna say at this point.
I find it hard to believe that's in-game.
Looks awesome!
Without peripheral vision, this is nothing short of nauseating...
The game looks fantastic,i like how they use color to show you which way to go. I hope it builds off of games like Breakdown and Chronicles of Riddick.
Wow, I like that song they're using, its amazing.
I really hope this turns out to be as fun as it looks/sounds.
COOLEST THING EVER!!!
sweet to finally see it in motion. it looks like it could be great. i'm glad they tweaked the girl a bit too, the first concept art they showed looked sort of.. retarded. she looks great now though
Looking good so far, but we will see.
looks awesome, and thank god for some actual COLOR... that isn't brown or grey.
Games like these make me hopeful for the current-gen platforms.
looks pretty good. I'm hoping the game is not linear. Time will tell.
Wow I really like the concept...I hope it turns out well. I love the lack of HUD and whatnot too.
That looks really great. The music was only so-so, but this game could be awesome. And it's by EA!
Definitely a wild card. Could be great, could be another over hyped-coaster. But you can't fault it for originality, especially in the day and age of the 'clone'.
This game looks amazing! I hope it turns out as well as it looks. Kudos for the gameplay video instead of a already rendered one!
Oh and this game looks amazing. As they said in the video, its all in-game footage o.O which makes this even better.
The graphics look pretty good but I'm not sold on the seemingly awkward animation and the main character isn't that hot. Still, I can see how the gameplay could be fun.
Wow, this looks great. I'm pretty stoked for this now, one to look out for.
I was interested till they got to the shooting bits.
I agree, Sigmund. I like the idea of a Parkour/free-running kind of game (ala District B13) but first-person was most definitely not the way to go. It also makes a lot of the stuff she's doing kinda... generally not as cool. Seeing her do that stuff would be more fun, methinks, than just kinda... Watching the world move around you. And yes, breathing noises are annoying there. That being in-game footage, it does look nice.. I dunno, I'll reserve full judgment for a rental or somethin'.
With all games that sport the EA tag, it'll look good until it comes out and then be complete shit. Just like Army of Two, to name a more recent one.
Holy shit man. If that truly is gameplay, then, next-gen starts now. This looks incredible.
I have mixed feelings about the gameplay and storyline/narration though. This has Assassin's Creed of 2008 stamped all over it.
Love what I've seen up there though...
Interesting. I'll have to keep this in my interest list, for now, because there is not much of a must buy from the trailer.
I dont exactly like the first person view in this type of game, i think the third person view could be more interesting!
Am I the only one who would rather see this in 3rd person? Still, looks amazing.
Very relaxing music.
If I could survive the migraines I got transitioning from 2d mario to 3d mario then I can handle this platforming first perform camera view.
That aside...
Awesome.
Somehow it looks like another Heavenly Sword or Lair for me :D
Looks pretty darn slick. I also liked the way they used color to subtly show your path through the environment.
I wonder about the controls though - obviously there won't be different buttons to do all the different actions. I'd bet most of them would be keyed off some combination of 'jump' and 'action' buttons combined with a context or location-specific influence.
Basically, if the controls are up to par to support the visuals and animation then we might be in for a real treat.
Any word on multiplayer? Can you imagine a big city area with like 16 people trying to run out to a certain objective and back? That could be crazy, especially if you could disrupt people when they are balancing or hanging.
Looks OK I would say, but what is the point? Why do I wanna play this? Just showing me nice graphics doesn't do much to excite me anymore. I wanna know what is going to make me want to play the game, cause graphics definitely aren't a deciding factor in the least.
It looks impressive for sure, but am a bit cautious about this until I hear more about how the gameplay works - that looks like it would get old fairly quickly. Early days yet though, so judgement will be reserved until more filters out.
I like First person games especially the nonshooter ones (some have a soft spot in my heart tho.. lol). This game looked cool in Play Magazine a while back and now in a video? Frickin awesome!
Wow, I love the whole atmosphere of the game already, if they stick with the blend of surreal colors and music I think they have a hit. Its a good example as games as art in my book.
@SigmundTheSeaMonster: Agreed. It actually made me dizzy. Still looks really good, though.
Looks great, and I really like the way the music works with the trailer, too.
@the-hypnotoad: I think the controls will be similar to Assassin's Creed, where you pretty much don't have to do jack for her to perform all those things.
looks really cool. first person gymnastics. it seems like a more interesting concept then more FPSs and open world games. i really hope this turns out to be fun. i agree that it could go either way with this one.
This game looks amazing, looking forward to this one for sure.
Reminds me of a first-person Crackdown, only.. cheerier locals :)
I dunno though, nothing about it really wowed me. As someone said, the first-person perspective kind of lessens the experience IMO. Plus, this is also EA, so I have an instant distrust for this already :P
Wow could the main character be any uglier? Anyway its made by EA so its guaranteed to be trash.
Looks nice in theory, but the concept seems like it would wear thin very quickly without some seriously clever story/level design to back it up. I'd also be very concerned that the seemly complex body controls could only be implemented by dumbing down major movements to a 'hold down RB' style a la Assassin's Creed.
It's a one-off concept that will most probably fall flat in the hands of of an uninspired and uninspiring developer like EA.
Well, the preliminary stuff looks quite nice. Although I find myself feeling the city is too bright and colorful. Wouldn't parts of it be a little dingy and grimy? Maybe I'm nitpicking.
Looking forward to seeing more from this game, as well as the inevitable release date pushback to 2009.
I disagree with the people saying the first person is bad.
You won't get the same excitement watching a character in third person.
I think the First-Person perspective is EXACTLY what makes this game look so intriguing. If it was Third-Person, we already saw that many times... Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed... but First-Person? Name me one game like this in First-Person. That's right, there isn't any.
wow thats like the most boring character design ever made. Its just some asian chick who just got out of her yoga class and started jumping buildings.
Sorry, that should be "locales" :P I can't type today.
Also, what does "parkour inspired" acutally mean? What the heck is a parkour?
oh, and the clean, sterile look of the environment reminds me of Portal, which is always a good thing.
parkour = free running
looks fun
The graphics is definitely amazing but this thing would give me motion sickness in a heartbeat. Tilting the camera left and right would make me sick. The music is is very good though.
@WarlockSoL: it's a sport where people traverse obstacles like buildings, fences, anythings pretty much by jumping, sliding, flipping... in other words... it's like extreme running.
Very popular in Europe.
Wow. That looks absolutely amazing.
Shoot...I don't often say this about games but this looks...thrilling so far.
@kagebutsu: What wonderfully flawed logic. Why bother saying anything at all? Just say "shit sux" and be done with it.
From the video, I was instantly impressed, and I'm now in joyous anticipation! The visuals hold a remarkably clean look to them, which is the idea, I'm sure. Looks like it has a lot of potential.
I'm really digging the first person look. When a game is in First Person, it's seems to always involve gratuitous murder of some variety.
The beautiful white aesthetic and those really gorgeous graphics, in a world that just looks so fresh makes this seem like a brilliant idea for me.
The only thing I'm slightly worried about is that the world looks a bit too sterile. I know that's the look they're going for, but the only other sign of life apart from the protagonist and a couple of bad guys was a single van, or so I saw.
Still, I'm stoked for it.
@Fahey: Ah the advantage of not having any protruding bits down there.
this is looking really good...i cant wait to see more...
This game coule either be amazing or a big disappointment. At least we know it will impress visually.
So, dropping back in to add: Listening to the Street Fighter song posted a bit earlier and watching this greatly improves it... Though that could probably be said of most any video.
It was especially amazing because 1:36 in the Street Fighter video and :26 in the Mirror's Edge video synched up perfectly... Check it out.
Looks like "what if Oni was an FPS". Character even looks sorta like a more realistic version of the Oni character.
Well I'll be looking out for this. The combat looks like it reminds me of Breakdown for the original Xbox.
Which is a very good game. Very underrated game Breakdown.
I'm going to keep an eye on this one. I'm with those who said they love the bright colors. The only thing that could hold this game back would be a flat story. I hope they can deliver on that... and I hope there's an XBL demo!
THIS is how Sonic should have transitioned into 3d!!!
@dozogovi: Considering i spend half my life looking for/waiting to hit on that exact person, then i guess this game is for me huh.
If this has a Halo 3-esque movie feature...day one purchase.
