There we good, real screenshots! Those first few must have been from cut scene or something. Aliasing is a fact of life, people. Guess that's what they meant by blurring the line between illustration and computer graphics! Haha! Anti-aliasing jokes always kill me.

Those screens suddenly don't look as good as the previous ones for some reason. It's really obvious that it's cell shaded models as opposed to 2D. the initial shots looked a lot better, I thought.

I love the Naruto series, I can't wait to play this game. The 360 naruto game was the best anime game I had ever played.

Mmmm strange the screenshots don't look that good, I mean look at naruto and you can find a freaking polygon there that should have been a circle, I mean come on we are on almost out of the TV graphics and the games have still visible polygons?

Still in motion this game looks almost like the toon.

I was really hoping this would be an adventure game like the 360 Naruto. Instead we get ANOTHER fighting game.

the magic of the bullshots comes to a screeching halt. The pic of Jiraiya and Naruto looks freaking hideous and seems to of the actual fighting engine and not the cutscenes of the specials.

Is it me or are these screens a LOT different from the trailer that was released a few weeks ago? I think these shots are not as mind-blowing as the trailer was... Graphics seem to be toned down...

Sorry about that, but yeah, I'm wrong. All my friends said it was the same guy (perhaps they were thinking of Shonen Jump, which circulates both). My own fault for not actually looking into it.

I don't know about completely different the naruto creator did draw a lot from Dragon Ball. I mean just think about it, Goku/Naruto both wear orange and blue and both are monsters inside of them... only ones a King Kong like thing and Naruto has a 9 Tailed Demon fox.

@nyaz: Toriyama and Dragon Ball have influenced almost every following Shounen manga.

That's not necessarily a bad thing, Naruto and One Piece both draw a lot from DB, but both are excellent series.

Why not Fahey? All the cool kids are doing it, in public, further bringing down the stereotype and farther away from reality. I mean just the other night here in NYC I saw two post-pubescent teenagers help each other tie these headbands on each other as they strut their stuff and wait at a bus stop hoping to garner the power of a modern day ninja in a pre-apocalyptic world in hopes of one day having their non-ninja skills from watching hours upon hours of Naruto could be of no use to anyone. You too can be just as non-powerful as they are as you lose touch with reality from what can be such an obsessive and immersive hobby!

On that note, the game alone looks pretty good, it wasn't half bad for the 360, but I still won't buy it.

Just wish they would make a decent Bleach fighting game or at least release one in the US. I love the anime but i never could get into the naruto fighting games.

Man, there isn't enough Naruto fandom in me to ever put one of those things on. I like the franchise, but my love of the show stems to the TV show, manga, and games. That's all. Though, I did get a laugh when I bought the scratched Itachi headband for a friend on his birthday, and he started walking around Redhook just to see what types of looks he'd get. I honestly thought he was going to get his ass kicked by some of the people around his way.

@Topic: This game looks gorgeous, but we need some other Jump series games of this quality. A new Rurouni Kenshin and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure game please!

I was kind of bummed that this wasn't the Ubisoft 360 game, but it's looking better. I'd like to see how well wall running works...

Jump Ultimate Stars is every shounen fan wet dream, unfortunately it will never get out of Japan, it would be a licensing nightmare!

I love the game on the DS but i would love even more to see it on a home console!

It looks fine. I'm not going to be pausing the game to say how bad the graphics look when everything is still. Nor am i going to be staring at the ground.

As far as the game animating like the cartoon. Please god no. The anime has TERRIBLE animation unless it's an Important Fight(See: Sasuke vs Naruto, Naruto vs Neji, Chiyo and Sakura vs Sasori). Even the video games were more detailed than the show. CC's animators always did a good job on keeping it similar to the show in terms of how it looked and felt, but did a far better job in the actual animating of it.

And there will probably be an adventure mode, just like their previous PS2 titles. Oh they were nowhere near as good as the 360 version, but here's to hoping that their honor was thusly insulted and they will make one that will blow it out of the water.

I watched Naruto during my freshman year in College and just dropped it in mid-semester due to boredom. That was almost 6 years ago.

Is the manga still going on?, Aren't the anime productions about 200 books behind or something?

I enjoy a decent Narutard story, it's a decent anime, the Shippoden series playing out now isn't too bad. I just hate that it takes so long to get the story out. (DBZ suffered similar problems)

@Fyren: The manga is still going, and is about to hit its 400th chapter. By most accounts, the manga seems to be in "sprint-to-the-finish" mode, as most of the villains have been killed off, along with some major plot characters, and a bunch of the mysteries have recently been explained.

The anime is, I believe, about 100-150 chapters behind the manga. Naruto had about a year to a year and a half worth of filler (inconsiquential plot not originally in the manga) tacked on to the end in order to avoid catching up and running out of source material.

Naruto Shippuuden has about 50% of each episode as "filler", usually through extended fights or additional dialogue, so that they can directly adapt one chapter to one episode.

The only explanations I can think of as to why these screens look so average compared to these is that either they have anti-aliasing turned off and the others have it maxed out combined with better dynamic lighting, or the other screen shots are cinematic-quality cel-shaded renders. There's just no comparison - the old ones look like they have ten times the number of polygons with added frozen sub-d smoothing, or something.

@Suzaku: I used to love Naruto. But it's getting lamer & lamer. Like you said, the manga is throwing things at you, left and right. The huge anticipated battles turn into quick successions of everyone's ultimate moves. I stopped watching the anime cuz it sucks even more. I think the fillers are more than 50%. Nothing like dragging a 3 minute fight into four episodes.
