Good news. They need to do something to get the momentum ball rolling again. They had a good thing going until all these announced release delays and Home (including the in game XMB) being pushed back yet again.

I'm looking forward to some new PS3 info. I'm really wanting to buy a PS3 and complete my gaming triumvirate, but there's nothing that sparks my interest as of yet (don't say MGS4, I played halfway through 1 and couldn't finish it)

i expect this to be the end-all-be-all for ps3 fps. 8 player online coop would rock. i hope they include a combo of online coop and splitscreen.

This is one of the reasons (besides Little Big Planet) I am happy that I "paid for potential"...my only hope is they deliver on the huge bar that has been set.

@Maldron: it's not that i hope they can't find ways to improve in later iterations, it's that i hope they don't leave anything on the table. leaving features out, like leaving out online play in gran turismo 4 or leaving out split screen in motorstorm, is lame. including as much as they can and not sacrificing on features or quality is what i'm looking for. this should help it be a game that re-defines the experience and sets a new bar. expecting a game to leave out features in lieu of inclusion in later iterations would be lame.

8-player coop gameplay footage please. =)

@Maldron: If what the Insomniac devs have been saying all along this game is almost done and if you were to judge by the gameplay of the first and the graphical prowess of R&C:ToD it bodes well for this franchise.

@mescalineeyes: How are you alone on this one my friend. Loads of people are excited for Killzone 2, especially press folk.

You just have to realize, that the marketing is on for games like MGS and Resistance because they're closer to being released.

Killzone may miss 2008 altogether since they've been hush hush on it. But, once we get closer to that game's release, the hype train will begin anew.

@sascha23: Indeed if R2 delivers, which i believe it will based on insomniacs track record on PS3 so far, then KZ2 could well slip into 09 and it willnot be a big fuss.

but yes give us proof that killzone 2 is being churned out! a podcast would be nice!

I am very interested in Resistance 2, but did anyone else get a Halo 3 vibe from the Teaser? Especially the main shot of a lone figure watching big ships fly across the sky and the line "this is how it begins" in the halo 3 trailer... the ships flying over the excavation site "this is how the world ends"...

I liked the ad campaign i saw in a magazine a while before I even saw the first r2 rumor. It had no game mentioned just a child with multiple eyes like a Chimera.

Also, I just played the first level of Killzone Liberation, and don't find it that exciting so far. I assume it gets better.
I did actually like Killzone 1, despite some glitches and some (not all) atrocious characters. I thought the combat was quite good, and the levels very realistic. I didn't like the lead character in KZ1 or Rico. I usually Played as Rico just avoid hearing his painful soundbites.
The characters shown so far in KZ2 seem much better.

Either way, I'm planning on buying this because it has great ideas for pushing the PS3 capabilities to beyond the limit.

best fps game for the ps3? hardly. I think this month's upcoming Haze shows more optimism to have that title then Resistance 2.

the trailer does look astonishing however. way more cooler looking then the actual game play of the 1st one. which i thought sucked.

PS3 FPS related, What happened to Killzone 2? It looked decent at the last E3, but no news since, what gives?

Once Resistance 1 drops in price, it's gotta be soon, right? I'll pick it up and maybe I'll get a chance to play it before #2 comes out.

Can't wait for R2,
1) for a shitload of opponents, it's rare to get 40p matches nowadays in the time-of-day when I'm gaming T_T
2) for the 60p matches, hoping there's an option to play in "mayhem" matches. I love nonstop shooting and aiming to dominate all :>. Otherwise, the squad-based play is fine with me - it's fun to get together with your clan and sweep the floor with everyone else, though the fighting for points is less fair :(
3) online co-op

I kinda hope they also include more of the weapons of single-player into online-play, it'll become like SiN deathmatches.
