Cinco de Mayo Means Double The Halo 3 XP For Some Reason. This weekend leads into the Mexican holiday that commemorates the victory of General Ignacio Zaragoza SeguĂn over French forces in the Battle of Puebla, giving everyone else an excuse to get mucho sloshed on Coronas and margaritas. It also, for some strange reason, means that Halo 3 players will gain twice the experience in game with "Fiesta" style rule sets. As Bungie.net states "Cinco De Mayo requires both the Heroic and Legendary map packs for participation." Good times!

People still play Halo 3?
HALO MARIACHI, LOL XD, Also if you are going to drink tequila, dont buy the cheap one, you will only get a doom headache the next day, good tequila is a little expensive but doesnt give you hung over ;)...
Blah. Tell me when the second set of maps are free, then I'll play. Or at least tell me when CoD4 is offering some double points. That would be more useful.
Juan 117.
It's not a Mexican Holiday!
Fiesta style rule sets? I gotta see what these are all about.
@Haniko: #2 or #3 most played game on XBL daily, bumped down thanks to GTA and occasionally overtaken by COD4 (they like to play tug-of-war with each other).
@Malevolentburrito: I laughed. Bravo!
@FIRST!!!: 0_o? , last time i saw the new stripped down mexican holiday calendar, 5 de mayo was one of the few that remained...
@Captain Impulse: Thank you sir. I shall toast to you a shot of Mezcal with the worn.
Dear America:
STOP CELEBRATING CINCO DE MAYO! You treat it like some sort of Saint Patrick's day, when we Mexicans don't give two shits about the holiday!
We don't go out and get drunk. We don't have parties. At most there'll be a parade, or a day off school, but that's it!
AAaaaaaaaaaa@(#$&@#$&@#&$#@($#@
*rant over*
@FIRST!!!: No but it's a good excuse to get plastered :)
@kavits001: Amen.
@Dave Silva: People are celebrating Mexican heritage, culture and history, and people are complaining?
Why is this news now? Bungie has been doing double exp playlists for months..
@Dave Silva:
Hush. Nobody likes a party-pooper.
@FIRST!!!: Shows what you know...
MASTER MARIACHI FTW! Club them with your oversized guitar!
Well, I'm Mexican and I don't think there's anything wrong with Americans or anyone else celebrating Cinco De Mayo. Although it's true that most people in Mexico don't celebrate it as much as in the U.S., as long as people are having fun celebrating while respecting the culture of others it's all good.
why do americans think cinco de mayo is such a big deal? it isn't. really
the real fiesta is independece day september 15
@Dave Silva:
AMEN!
@Dave Silva: Yeah nobody cares about it...we just remember it because we get a day off in school :P
@Mike918: Well that happens when you dont put attention when you are in history class...
Hey, I'm half-Mexican, and I don't care if people celebrate it. My only complaint is Americans don't usually know the difference between this holiday and Mexican Independence Day.
LOL the picture to this article makes me laff
Yeah! El Jefe Maestro rules...
"Americans don't usually know the difference between this holiday and Mexican Independence Day" ...man Im mexican and I think most of us dont even give a shit about the difference haha...If it means not going to work that day is fine with me.
Because if your too young to drink, you need something to sustain you.
@StupidDufus: Too bad our school systems don't learn us right. :( Oh, and props for having Remus as your pic.
There better be a Canada day double exp, or I'm suing America. with the aid of my army of mooses and beavers!!
@Captain Impulse: I'm pretty sure you spawn start with random weapons, kind of like the Fiesta rule set in Halo 2.
@Haniko: Can't you get banned for that kind of shit?
@josh924: spawn with random weapons*
@josh924: Yeah I went to the site and that's what it said. Never played that mode on Halo 2, so this will be cool. Can't wait to try it.
@Haniko: Man people still play diablo.
Like kojirodensetsu said, Bungie's been doing 'Double Exp Weekend' for a while now. A different game-type each week: SWAT, Snipers, Infection, etc., and all for 2 exp per win.
Hmm, now that I think of it.. didn't Bungie make DEW (because abbreviations are cooler) a regular, weekly occurrence once Call of Duty 4 came out? It's an interesting strategy to lure players, and I genuinely wonder how well it's working.
Speaking of CoD4 and DEWs.. when its map pack was released, CoD4 had a DEW. And anyone familiar with CoD4's experience system knows.. -that- was something to be excited about..
*goes back into the warm, loving embrace of GTA IV*
@Pseudo-Mexicans:
I'm a mexican i live in Monterrey and it is true we really don't celebrate 5 de Mayo as off the hook on the US. (Depending on where n Mexico do you live).But take in consideration the big mexican groups located in the US. for them is a sort of nostalgic way to remember where they are from and just oher cultures like how they party and adopt the same feeling.
"Cinco De Mayo requires both the Heroic and Legendary map packs for participation."
lol. Fuck off, Bungie.
@VeNoMmx:
And yet most people take it as an excuse to not go to work or school =P
BTW, this reminded of 'La Cucaracha's' Cinco de Mayo comics.
@FIRST!!!: it IS a Mexican holiday.
I'm mexican. first of all, theres nothing like a good ol cheap tequila to burn your throat.
Second, as mentioned already, we dont give a crap about the holiday, it's actually embarrasing for me, it's the celebration of a battle we won to the french. after that. they kicked our sorry ass.
we care because we won't go school or work(i actually went to work, but got paid 3x)
