Next week's batch of Rock Band downloadable tracks arrive just in time for the new, officially licensed Rock Band Lip Ring controller, adding extra authenticity to what Harmonix is calling the Scene Pack. Individual hipster tracks will hit you in the wallet for $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) each or $5.49 (440 Microsoft Points) as a bundle. They're all master tracks, fortunately, and should show up on the service of your choice starting next Tuesday.
- "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race" by Fallout Boy
- "Date With The Night" by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
- "It Hurts" by Angels & Airwaves
DLC Week of May 6th [Rock Band Forums]

Comments
yea, um no thanks. I'd rather not play any more rock-pop.
Eeewww...
Those are the kind of songs you buy, maybe, on a impulse when they're $.99
At $2, they're pretty much a resounding no.
My eyes! MY Eyes! Kill it with fire!
I might get some of these I just don't know yet. I'm more excited that Disturbed tracks are gonna be in the game :)
Nothing that I like here, but I have to wonder if they'll censor the Fall Out Boy song the same ridiculous way they do on television:
This ain't a scene it's a *STOMP* damn arms race.
eh, no...
If we are going to get DLC from a dude in eye makeup it should at least be The Cure.
I love Fall Out Boy and Angels & Airwaves and while I still like both of those songs, there were much better choices...
I might get them, Just for fun :D the more songs the merrier ... but pete wentz is a douche.
I can't avoid this...my girlfriend will download it in our rock band when she sees it...sigh, I shouldn't of told her about downloadable content.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs is the only thing worth getting on there.
off topic, but seriously, microsoft points...whats with the conversion? why isnt it just points = dollars or something at least somewhat normal like wii points?
Yeah, Fallout Boy =/= hipster. Fallout Boy is more like Hot Topic clerk.
*shudder*
Nothing I'd buy. Besides not liking any of the bands, I already know that the songs won't be challenging.
They should release something from, for example, Dream Theater...and more Rush, of course.
Hell yes, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. So cool I almost feel like I'm not cool enough to listen to them.
Never heard Angels & Airwaves, but failure of epic proportions on the other two tracks.
I guess it's better than this garbage come out now while I'm busy with GTA4 than when I get tired of that and go back to Rock Band.
Does anyone know if the instruments are weather proof? Cause there's about to be a lot of vomiting.
Seriously, this music is puke inducing.
@Touy: Ha! And that's not even to mention the crap music!
Anyone can say whatever they want about Fall Out Boy and Angels & Airwaves, and you won't see me bat an eyelash. But anyone who doesn't love Yeah Yeah Yeahs has either never heard them (aside from "Maps"), doesn't like good rock music, or is just an idiot. I say bully to the great people at Harmonix (who would be great regardless) for giving the world more YYY in "Rock Band". "Date with the Night" is a spectacular song, and as far as playing it in the game is concerned, one that won't be as boring for guitarists and will seriously challenge vocalists. Some weeks have awesome DLC, some have not-so-awesome DLC, but any week with Yeah Yeah Yeahs is a week that has at least one spectacular song.
+ Watch video
LOL! I just want to know that if I sing, "I'm a little man, and I'm also evil, also into cats" perfectly on key .... will I still get accuracy points?
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are all right.
But man WTF at how there isn't a single Bob Dylan song in Rock Band.
Do they come with the gun and ammo also?
@mkillerbear: Why, yes you will!
And they might leave the 'goddamn' in... they did for El Scorcho, but then again it's only said once in that song. There may be a 'goddamn' cap.
i think my ears are going to blead if i here people playing the fall out boy song, or if i even listen to it
The FOB song is annoyingly catchy, I may have to get it.
Well that is whole lot of fail. This one time, I heard a guy in an adjacent OR wake up in the middle of by-pass surgery. Between the rasping gurgling, shouts of panic, and the tinkling sound of falling metal instruments, there was the scream. A scream so awful, so gut wrenching, so nightmarishly haunting that it could only come from the unbridled horror of waking up to see your own chest spread wide open, and your own beating heart laying before you.
That was the worst thing I ever heard in my entire life, until I heard Fall Out Boy. My god they fucking suck, it's the worst most generic shit ever, and no other band has such an insipid and vacuously stupid following. I hope they die.
P.S. - The other bands suck too. Disappointing update.
I hope scene kids die.
That's it, no joke. I don't even hate the music, I just hate those little fuckers.
This is going to be a poor selling week for our friends at Harmonix, I'm afraid...
How can that put that emo trash in a pack with Yeah Yeah Yeahs? The quality and genre of music is completely different.
I am stoked on this Fall Out Boy song. There, I said it.
Do those kids sideburns come off or what?
More Fall Out Boy? Seriously? In ROCK Band??? Even if it was free, I wouldn't download that steaming pile of poo.
@KaneRobot:
Angels and Airwaves is as bad as the other ones.
Though, This Ain't a scene is pretty catchy.
@Kanti_V2:
Is that some copypasta?
This update has Fall Out Boy, which equals epic amounts of failure. The other two bands cannot make up the difference.
Harmonix is making it easier and easier for me to not spend any money every week
@ca$h: You greatly underestimate the emo population.
FAIL! to kotaku for posting a fall out boy pic. *reaches for the bleach to wash eyes out*
Fuck that emo shit!!!!!!!!!!!
Scenester, not hipster damnit!
Get your pop culture right, man. :P
Also, bring the goddamn game to Australia harmonix!
Me likey. Don't like to admit that I like any Fall Out Boy, but This Aint a Scene is pretty good...and Yeah Yeah Yeah's, I'm in :)
would've loved to have seen Phenomenon or Honeybear. Or Gold Lion. Or Y Control. Or Deja Vu. But Date will suffice.
I heart Karen O and all her raunchiness.I know a lot of dudes thinks shes gross but........not I.
It's not a scene it's a GO! KART! ASS! FACE!
@EvilFiek: Dream Theater would indeed be sweet.
I'm still waiting on anything else from Metallica's black album. Sigh.
@jello44: No, that's me being bored, and needing to fully espouse and painstakingly define my immense hatred of Fall Out Boy, and those who do not share said hatred. Where wold I have copied that from anyway? Unless I'm missing some new meaning to copypasta.
P.S. - Thank you for reminding me of why sometimes I'm really embarrassed of internet slang. So I take back my previous comment where I used the word 'fail' in a grammatically incorrect way. My apologies for further dumbing down the 'teh internets'.
@Erwin: Argh, fall out boy is not emo.
Not, I repeat, fucking emo.
They're bloody pop punk, alright?
So now that you know, please don't ever associate this shit band, along with other such cappy bands such as MCr, the used, alesena etc with fucking emo and screamo and giving emo and screamo a bad reputation, alright?
This ain't a scne, it's a god damn ass face.
Three swings and three misses.
What the hell has happened at the Rock Band offices???
oh, HELL NO. FOB MUST BE DESTROYED.
Hmm, I wouldn't mind picking up the Yeah Yeah Yeah's song, but at $2 I can't justify it. I blame you, World of Warcraft!
Well, I'm gonna enjoy my new Fallout Boy song and not join the epic hate bus, but you can swing around and pick me up for ganging up Internet-tough-guy-style on Angels and Airwaves.
Now only if we could get that Muse pack on RB instead of GH...
I want at the drive-in and coliseum and my morning jacket and pelican and minus the bear.
rock music that doesn't SUCK.
@KaneRobot: Angels and Airwaves is Blink-182 with the same vocalist, but a new drummer, guitarist, and bassist.
@Erwin:
Oh of course they will, god forbid you say god damn in a teen rated video game!
I hate censored music.
Buying the FOB song, I like it. Screw the haters!
@thegetupkid: at the drive in and minus the bear, SECONDED. Good god that would be amazing.
Yay for Date With The Night, fuckin' boo for A&A/FOB.
And Yeah Yeah Yeahs are scene now? Bollocks (I hope).
They should have called it the "Just About Emo" pack. Here's hoping for more Rush in the future.
@EvilFiek: Agreed! Hell friggin' yes we need more Rush.
Throw all of 2112 on there. Or Cygnus X-1...
Um, ok. Why can't we get some good stuff? Like some old school Chili Peppers or better yet Run DMC. Ha ha, that would be good stuff. It seems as though they'll get a good band and put the ok song instead of a great one by that band. I dunno, I still love the game, though. Just want some some better songs.
Rock Band still has no music by black people in it. Zero. Black musicians invented rock and roll and once again, white people are stealing it and getting rich off it while the people who started it all get nothing. Lame.
Damn emo crap. Needs more metal!
I'd be in heaven if I saw some Slipknot, Mudvayne, Nothingface, and the likes. Though I know it won't happen, so I'd be fine with some more classic rock.
And I mean, "Walk This Way"...that's rock.
Whats wrong with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs!? D:?
@ca$h: Wanna bet? Seriously, as good/bad as this music may be, these groups Billboard charted well, which means a decent amount of people like them well enough to buy the song/album, which means a decent amount of people like them enough to buy the tracks. I predict each of those songs selling the same or more than You've Got Another Thing Coming did last week (which did about 13k by unofficial count on [www.geocities.com])
I like Fallout Boy... Whats with all the hate? They could have picked a better song out of their line up though but thats ok.
