Wish I could use my UK credit card on the NA store. I really want echochrome. Oh well, it'll be worth the wait. I expect it to arrive in maybe 2 weeks time. Also, 10 bucks? Damn, that's a nobrainer if I ever saw one.
I foresee the European store getting the huge HAZE demo first though, maybe next week. We gotta get something, the developer being English and all.
@Candlejack: I wish those damn PSN cards came out already. sheeesh!
Echocrome for 10 bucks -- bargain of the decade, or bargain of the century?
Black and white is SOOOO in...
I love the classical music too
@kingclip:
+ a lvl editor...
Wow at the amount of Karaoke tracks available at once.
Take a look, Rock Band. Take a look.
@karasu is my homeboy: At first, it seems nice. But then, you realize how horrible most of those American Idol songs are. There are a couple of gems, maybe three, and then a mess of garbage.
I'm happy with Rock Band not releasing a ton, as long as it's quality. Though, I am disappointed with this week's song offerings.
But I will have the Escher-Esqe embrace of Echochrome to console me.
echochrome costs only ten bucks, another example of a game I would gladly pay eleventy million dollars for, at a ridiculous bargain.
I may have to grab echochrome since I played the PSP JP demo...it was fun and challenging...gives me MC Escher flashbacks
echochrome is so sweet.
i love creating levels and playing other peoples creations. very cool
Wow! Echochrome for only $10! I had expected the game to sell for $20. Anyone know what the differences are between the PS3 and PSP version? Though, for $10 a piece, I might just pick up both.
@dh4645: really? how do you download other people's levels? that's awesome.
Stop talking up echochrome, I just bought Monsters and I will not be sidetracked! Well, except by GTAIV, but that's the GTAIV exemption.
Echochrome is one of the few reasons I regret not having a PS3 yet. The pressure is slowly mounting heavier and I think the roof's about to give...
Yup guys, I love the fact that Europe's Store update has been ignored. Since it's non-existent.
Sony, come the fuck on.
@psycoking: Each has 56 levels -- but here's the kicker -- each has 56 UNIQUE levels. PS3 one has level editor and you can even send them to your friends list.
OOOOOOOOOOOO Dark Sector demo
@steliosco; @kingclip: call me a noob, but there's a lvl editor??? you're right; super-bargain. they can have my monies
just purchased it for ps3. thought the demo was enjoyable :)
I'm getting the game anyways, but anybody know how good the EchoChrome level editor is?
I may use it more or less depending on how good it is.
Nothing too exciting for me, but I'm going to download the Japanese Siren Demo.
@Sailorcancer: i'll be givin' that a DL too. i've been at a cross-roads with the purchase. hopefully this will push me more towards one side.
How about I pay it once and I get it for both my ps3 and psp? this is gay
Still no Pixeljunk Monsters Encore? :-( Anyone have a release date on this?
@Hylian: Yeah, I was hoping it would work on both. I'm still going to get the PS3 version.
You know, I still can't bring myself to actually pay money for a download.
Put it in a box and I'll pay ten bucks for echochrome. Hell, I'll pay twelve.
I don't understand why Sony don't release the new content simultaneously in the whole world. And why they do it all on one day instead of running releases...
@Tyrogoeth:
Sony doesn't release the same content all over the world because the even the same game is required to be different, depending on where it's released. The main difference would be the language used in the menus and dialogue, but there are other differences as well, such as cultural references. Shoot, many games don't even get released in the US because of cultural differences.
I hope that answered your question.
For those wondering, according to the official PS blog:
[blog.us.playstation.com]
there are separate editors for both the PSP and PS3 versions of Echochrome, w/ the main difference being that PS3's levels are bigger (see comment #37 in above link), hence not cross-compatible. But, you can d/l added levels for both versions via the PSN store (PS3 XMB store and PC store respectively), so both games should have plenty of replay value.
Work just needs to end...sooner...
played for about an hour. really good stuff. tried out a few created levels by some random people, .. quite hard!
also i love the soundtrack. so relaxing.
[www.jp.playstation.com] getting this for sure
@Youlikeyams: Well, PS3 was officially released in Mexico on August 11th, 2007 and we still don't have a PSN Store. They just push the dates and we really doubt there will be any because when there is an interview with Sony Mexico they encourage you to sign up for a USA account. At least you guys can expect for an update even with a delay.
Also, most of my friends (and i) use virtual VISA card to buy stuff on PSN store.
As a side note, XBox Live and Wii shop were available in Mexico using Mexican pesos since launch.
@Aggrocragg:
I'm thinking May 8th.
@Candlejack:
quit teasing me with all that Haze talk.
At $10 a pop, I'm going to pick up the PS3 and PSP versions of Echochrome. I can't wait to try out the level editor. is it relatively easy to share user-created levels?
I've never weeped in fear just from staring at a puzzle before Echochrome...
@kingclip: Thanks for the info. I'll probably be picking up both then.
@jun581: Same. I hear their working on it but the sooner the better.
@Hylian: there's different levels on each version.
@KamuZ: Sony needs to get their act together o well sorry about these problems but hey if you can read english than it's not that bad. Right?
@Hylian: Yea, do that so then they get people complaining that they only have a PS3 or only a PSP and want to be able to pay half the price for one version. You make it sound like Sony is the only company to ever have a game come out on multiple systems in different versions and charge you for each one. At least it's not like Pokemon being released in two virtually identical versions for the same system and both being full price at 3.5 times the price of echochrome.
Battle Fantasia Demo is on the Japanese PSN since 2 days ago. Quite a good demo IMO. 3 stages of full voiced story mode, 2 playable characters in VS mode, Option of Very Easy and Very Hard....
Tried to tip Kotaku about it but I guess it's not significant enough to even worth a mention =P
@kingclip:
Second.
Apparently we also get a GT5 trailer featuring music from GT4, if I recall...
@badasscat:
I really wish the game came out on UMD here. It might sound ridiculous but I would just like a physical copy of the game.
I seriously can't wait for Echo. It looks like it will fuck with my head and break my psp in frustration. I can't wait to see what people are going to be to make with that as well :D
Okay, can anybody help me out?
I made an echochrome level, and saved it.
Now, I can't figure out how to find it again, or upload it to the servers. Anybody know how to?
Call me a cheapskate but wasn't there used to be no tax when buying stuff on PSN?
I was waiting for echochrome to come out and wanted to buy it along with some Rockband songs... I thought the songs are expensive already since they add up, now I gotta pay more!!
When did they start charging tax? Was it with the new store update? Was I hallucinating all these time thinking you don't need to pay tax?
@Dir_en_grey: "When did they start charging tax? Was it with the new store update? Was I hallucinating all these time thinking you don't need to pay tax?"
According to my transaction history they were charging tax back in July 2007 when I made my first PSN Store purchase, Super Stardust HD. Maybe it has something to do with being Canadian. We love teh taxes.
PSN has always factored in taxes. Maybe you're thinking about XBL?
@Replica23: @Kamakazie:
I checked my Account History, Super Puzzle Fighter, Warhawk, Tekken, Calling All Cars, Everyday Shooter, since last year until my last purchase on 3/30/08, all didn't get charged tax...
Echocrome today was the first one with tax added to the price... bought Rockband songs just to see, tax added also....
@Dir_en_grey: @Kamakazie: @Replica23: I got Echochrome yesterday for no taxes, here in California.
Any explanation?
