Pardon the fuzzy screens from Famitsu we posted last night, but it's all good now that Capcom has come forward with crisp new shots of not two but all four of the shady Shadaloo bosses appearing in Street Fighter IV. Sagat is looking especially menacing in his pics, with the most ferocious Tiger Uppercut I've ever seen bursting to life. As for M.Bison or Vega, depending on where you live...well I only wish Raul Julia were alive today to see more clearly what an agonizingly bad choice he was for that role.

Vega is a beast!! <3 new screens.
Sagat looks especially grumpy. I hope he still has his Tiger genocide, besides doing tons of damage it just has a great name.
AWESOME! BISON IS BACK!!!
These new screens are pretty sweet. Though Balrog kind of looks like a zombie now, eek
I guess they should have just called it SF 2.5D after all, so that's about all they seem to be aspiring to.
Damn, all of these character models look great. Sagat's unleashing some fierce looking tiger shots this time around.
Ah, great, Saga and Bison. Now the evil quarted that made me sweat a lot on the SNEs is complete in their full, new 3d Dimps glory.
I want this more then GTAIV, am I sane?
Vega is the man!!! I hate fighting him! He is too fast! But yea Sagat looks like a mean fighting machine.
Any word on whether Balrog can kick?
Personally I think Raul Julia was the only part of that movie worth anything.
This game is (hopefully) gonna rock :)
Does anyone else think the second to last shot, looking down on Balrog looks weird? >.>
Aw, where's Cammy? :<
Now just bring back Akuma and Dan and i will be happy.
@Shiryu:
Yes...Or at the very least as sane as me...so I guess no :/
New SF II 3D edition screens! Awesome!
Bison, sweet. I wonder if there will actually even be any form of tie in between this and SF3
Raul Julia was the best Bison that movie could have hoped for and you know it.
I just can't get excited about this. I can't. I've tried! It's just Street Fighter 2 only in 3D. That's it. I love Street Fighter sooo much but if this is all they're going to give me in regards to a new SF, then I'll pass.
psycho crusher!
wasn't bison/vega killed by akuma? my canon isn't up to date since i haven't played in a while
Still looks great.
Ill be in Japan next week i would be sweet to play on one of those Test machines. Does anyone know the location of one ?
Wee~ Vega =D
Well, I'm sold =D
ok guys notice there are 2 pictures with balrog that have cell shading on them and they look best whats this about why dont they always have cell shading on them? it looks better in my opinion
@ph15h needs followers: They'll just retcon it, just like every other time they've done it in the SF universe.
This game is soooooo ugly its unbelievable.
sad thing for one of the greatest fighter ever
@hondo:
Wow I didn't know SF2 had saving attacks, ultra combos, and ex attacks.
This is a whole new fighting engine guys. The cast isn't finished and they're going for a lot of fan service in this game.
Hence why the entire sf2 cast is back.
When talking about Vega, Bison and Balrog, please specify if you mean the original names or the Amercian name-swaps, cos otherwise these conversations are gonna cause headaches.
Raul Julia still never sent me my Bison Dollars, I sent him around $100,000 to exchange and never heard back. Not to mention my security deposit on the condo in Bisonopolis.
Vega (aka Balrog apparently, who is actually aka M. Bison apparently) is always cool.
I wonder if they'll ever correct the translations for the American market or just keep pretending everything is okay.
EVERYTHING IS OKAY.
@darthmole12: K... Question about retcons on a different game. Can a retcon possibly fix Soul Calibur's story?
The look on Ryu's face when Bison (Vega) does the teleport behind him is awesome. They put in a lot of detail for small things like that.
Do these guys eat steriod burgers with Creatine shakes? Even Chun Li can compete for Mr.Universe, am I the only one that doesn't like muscle coming out of my game characters lips?
Wow, just beautiful.
But, but...Akuma killed him dead! The Psycho Power lives!
Yeah, what's up with some pics not being cell shaded? This art style works a lot better with those outlines... I assume it's just because it's a work in progress, but I'm not sure why they would release them like that.
I like that they're bringing everyone back from SF2, but why do they look EXACTLY like they did in SFII? Seriously, between all the SF games there have been pretty serious changes in custumes, hair, whatever. But everyone here is just a 3D carbon copy from an ancient game. Why so boring?
Now with 8 frames of animation per character!
@Sinharvest: exactly it needs characters from 3 and alpha or its just street fighter 2 extreme 3D mega mix HD 2 DA MAX. But i want SF4 >:3
I thought Bison died in Street Fighter 2...why is he back now?
I mean, if he's just an unlockable character, okay, that's fine, but they can't just resurrect him after his stated canon perma-death without a damn, damn good reason.
@Dang-fuzz:
I think most people prefer it if the characters stayed closed to their SFII roots, myself included.
Absolutely gorgeous. Those professing their disgust are generally either not familiar with the Street Fighter art of the past (they've always had crazy proportions) or just being a curmudgeon and angry that it's not 2D.
I think the animation has looked a bit stiff so far, but they've nailed the models. That's the best transition from 2D to 3D we'll likely see for some time.
SHADALOO!!? IT'S SHADOWLAW DAMMIT!
I kid i kid :D
@futurebiblehero: I like the whole "If your opinion is not in line with mine, you're wrong" thing, it's really edgy.
@Dang-fuzz: That, on the other hand, I agree with. While I pretty much dedicated my entire life to SF2 in fifth grade, I somewhat wish they would've moved a little forward in that regard. SF3 was excellent, arguably the best 2D fighter ever made, and in some ways this is yet another instance of it not receiving the credit it's due.
@Moonshadow101: I know. It was so edgy I started putting the word generally in there so no one fragile would be hurt. I may have to scale back my danger even further.
Vega/Balrog, Balrog/Mike Bison and M.Bison/Vega. How nice. :P
YES! The head stomping fiend is back!!!
Solid
More new characters would be nice. SF4 seems to be reeling in the years of late.
Capcom needs to step up even more. Is it too much to ask for new costumes for these decade old characters? For Christ's sake.
And if this story is between 2 and 3, then who won the 2nd tournament? Why is Bison back? Didn't he get killed by Akuma? Didn't Sagat and Ryu have there final duel in 2? Why am I asking you guys?
I vowed to never buy another fighting game, but this is making me want to eat my words. It makes me want to re-live my days of playing SF2 in the arcade all over again.
Just wait 'till they add Mace Windu and Jango Fett.
Surely I can't be only one to be really fucking psyched because Capcom used a really close version of the SFII Anime film's M.Bison/Vega.
I always said that Arnold should have been Bison in the movie.
@Tepoz: Anything less than Max Rebo Vs Lobot just won't do.
@Dang-fuzz: You sir, are right on the money. Capcom's playing it TOO safe.
I just want to see it go in a different direction - at least artistically. If the gameplay is going to be largely the same with a few new moves thrown in, which is what Capcom has been saying, I'd like to see the characters at least change and grow since the last game. Otherwise it really IS just another Street Figher EX. Throwing in new characters won't stop the general stale feeling these images are giving to the public.
I loved Chun Li's track outfit in Alpha, for example, and it gave us a good sense of story progression when we compared her to what she would then look like in SF2. [img401.imageshack.us]
She still played like Chun Li. You could still identify her as the same character. But visually you could tell that something happened between this game as the last.
Yes, the characters are iconic. But it is BECAUSE they are iconic that it's very very easy to change the subtleties of their look and still be instantly recognizable. Hell, Mickey Mouse's design has changed an almost countless number of times, and he remains one of the most recognized characters world-wide. I don't see why Capcom is so stubborn. I think a HUGE factor is the company being terribly wary of the reactions of it's fans, and believing that replicating Street Fighter 2 on modern hardware and a few new characters thrown in will be good enough.
I wanna see Guile in some Urban camo BDUs. Maybe with the new digital design they've got going now. If Zangief's a professional wrestler, I want to see him in some outrageous pro-wrestling getup (I mean he IS gay, right?), or something you'd see a modern WWE star wear. Give Dhalsim some new designs painted on his head. Vega can keep the same mask and have new pants with an elaborate Spanish pattern. You don't need MUCH.
