Meh, nothing amazing there at all.
Any thoughts of getting this game just went out the window.
Oh God, what have you become Guitar Hero? Worst day ever.
YES. ALL STAR.
And I happen to like Maroon 5.
Looks more like a Singstar tracklist though.
Um...
Daughtry? The one from American Idol?
Didn't the Guitar Hero devs have a CEO or something flip out by pretending they were instructed to put Avril Lavigne in GH3 as a prank?
And then they willingly add Daughtry and Maroon 5? And cut 10 songs? To On Tour, which already has a lot to prove because it's criticized all over the internet?
And with that, GH has officially jumped the shark.
pre order canceled what a shitty track list, but it is the ds so its gonna be catered for kids and the casual god damn you guitar hero
What a crappy setlist. Not even all of the songs are new to the series. Guitar Hero is hella lame.
wow that is one terrible track list. and only 15 songs? awful.
Wow, Helicopter is in every videogame with a licensed soundtrack. How about some originality please?
Wow that's an impressive track list.
Oh wait no its not.
Pretty weak set list
I think I hear the sound of a shark jumping somewhere.
very meh, might not be worth the $50 price tag. Is this the FINAL setlist, no unlockables or anything?
Oh my god, fucking awful. One of the few worthwhile songs being a cover seals it.
No Doubt? Smashmouth? Blink 182? Piss off.
What?
WHAT?
WHAAAAAAAT?
If this is the complete track list, Guitar Hero DS instantly wins the "Worst Game of the Year" award.
Doesn't seem worth it to me. :/
Brian, where do you get some many soul-piercing pictures?
You just google them?
Am I the only person who actually likes a few of those songs?
And by a few, I mean three...
Bloc Party and..... ehhh... *shrugs*
Activision has completely whored out the Guitar Hero franchise. Aerosmith + this garbage setlist + rock the 80's = Activision ruined a good thing. Worthless. If you buy this or the Aerosmith version you are a fool.
interesting list... just "might" have to get it. though i hope there are really more songs than that (i'd have to guess unlockables).
needs more maiden
Guitar Hero's good at getting kids into decent music. Why make a game full of the same old shit they're already listening to? (I quite like "Breed" actually, but everything else is quite bad)
Dude, Jessie's Girl! That's all you need right there.
If Ronald McDonald had dropped out of clown school and drifted into the CEO position at Activision, that is what he'd look like.
Kids, don't throw your lives away. Stay in clown school.
50% good, 50% suck. some decent tracks though.
China Grove is the one song that stands out, I don't mind Pat Benetar either... but it's been done. Pretty much the whole rest of that list makes me want to vomit. "Guitar Hero?" More like "Average kid who took a few lessons in high school and learned a few songs Hero."
Cut. Print. Gay.
all 15 songs for only $49.99! what a bargain!!!
how does the most expensive DS game have the least amount of content? and so goes guitar hero, further down the spiral...
Ugh daughtry ugh.
I can't be the only one with a irresistable urge to punch whenever i hear him sing.
Christ on a bike. It's not April 1st again, is it? Elite Beat Agents had a better track list than that.
Awful...I really hope the ten remaining songs are any good.
If the 15 it shows are terrible I dread to think how bad the 10 that it doesn't are.
EvilFiek, they cut the other 10 songs. Those are the FULL setlist.
@BrianD: I agree. Moar Maiden, pl0x... More metal would be nice.
My [supposed] music snobbery just found a reason to overlap with my [under-developed] game snobbery. This won't be coming anywhere near my DS.
Also, Kotaku seems to be loving the ole' red eyes.
rename the game to Gaytar Homo and I'm in. nice song choices for a 13 year old retard who has "Now That Is What I Call Music 9082430928340982340982304982039"...
@KID-A26: You are aware that Harmonix was responsible for Rocks the 80s, right?
I think for a DS game, this track list is fine. Plus, with the DS, it's almost as if you're inherently marketing to little kids. Everyone now and then I'll see someone older than 12 with one, but not by much. I don't think it's any big surprise that the bulk of the DS market would be a youthful audience that would probably appreciate a more contemporary track list.
Wow. I went from "Could not wait for this" to "Will avoid this" in 4.6 seconds. I'm like a Lexus or something.
another reason why the guitar hero franchise is less than the rock band franchise
If anyone else is going to shit on bloc party, I'm going to write a very very angry blog post :p.
In all seriousness, the cutting of 10 tracks does suck. But I don't think it would be to cater to more 'casuals'.
Come on, what good is it for casual people if they would cut 10 songs? So we all pay more for less? All the tracks are probably already made.
@marlblank: The entire Guitar Hero franchise was designed for "casuals", people.
Anyway, I bet what we have here is the starting track list.
@megaStryke:
That's a negative. I am pretty sure that was Activision's idea. Harmonix had to develop it. I think that was their first 'joinit' venture. I can place some of the blame on Harmonix, but Activision was definitely involved in that one. Regardless, the franchise is being run into the ground.
I saw "This Love..." and started giving everyone on the office imaginary high fives. Then i realized that it was This Love by Maroon 5 and NOT This Love by Pantera.
Activision won't get my money just for that
@Kazzahdrane:
Oh please tell me you're joking about the whole "All Star" thing...That's just what I've been saying about Rock Band all this time; if there could just be more Smashmouth
@KID-A26: Activision was also involved in Guitar Hero II.
@Antihippy: I'm fortunate enough to have never heard him. I always mute commercials and I don't watch american idol. He looks like a singing George Cloony. Is he anything like Chris Gaines?
Anyway, now Harmonix is gonna come along with Rock Band DS, which will use the GH peripheral, and feature drumming with dual stylii. Then they'll spread some Branston Pickle on it.
I'm amazed at how surprised everybody is that the track list is so feeble. AC-TI-VI-SION, folks. It's exactly what should have been expected. It's spot-on for their obvious target demo. It reeks of guys in suits looking over Clear Channel Media play lists.
@megaStryke: At least for the 360 version, anyway.
@megaStryke:
That is true I suppose. But still, this DS version has the makings of a best of the 90's garbage pop soundtrack (with a few exceptions). I'll stick with my Picross thanks.
@megaStryke: Yeah, and I wonder if that was the straw that broke the camel's back.
@hop3less: Double what you said.
I know 4 of those songs
It was going to barely be worth it with 25 songs, with 15 songs, and THESE 15 songs.....no thanks.
