If you're not interested in getting homebrew up and running on your Wii, fine. That's your business. You're probably not interested in knowing that ScummVM is now working for the system, either, nor in seeing a man play Full Throttle on his couch using a Wii Remote. Because that's not awesome at all, is it?

Wow, grat news! I was already very impressed with progress on the "Nintendo Homebrew Chanell" and as of late, the ported SNES9x. Thinks are lookign good for Wii homebrew, id say. ^_^
I didn't think anything could pull me away from GTA4 - but that could do it.
Awesome. Gotta try this out now...
Wow, just.....wow
Niiiice...
No, it is pretty awesome. Now I just need to get Fate of Atlantis...
OK, Wii homebrew just got awesome.
Time for me to get a Wii
Or play it on my PC, one of the two...
oh my god I want.. genius and an actual reason to use my Wii
Hmmm... I might have to take a look at the Wii homebrew scene. It shouldn't be too hard to get this stuff up and running.
Fate of Atlantis? Day of the Tentacle?! Mmmm.... all is well in the world of gaming today.
Excelent!
I will be adding this to the list of Pro reasons to get a Wii. Grim Fandango and CMI would be heaven on my Plasma.
Cool! BASS+BS1+BS2 here I come! *googles for a homebrew tutorial*
Full Throttle is now supported?
Month ago I finished Monkey Island via Twilight hack and gc controller.
Still wanna play in Kyrandia -it reminds me my childhood.
Freaking awesome. I'll have to go buy a SD just for my Wii, methinks. :D
Man this is SO awesome.
I miss full throttle and The Dig.
I heart Wii. At least I can go play around with this while Rockstar try to sort out why my PS3 refuses to let me save in GTAIV :(
Wow, this might be reason enough to play The Dig or the Indiana Jones games again which I never got to finish. I'm ordering a SD card reader for my PC right now...
Damn, I love this game. Weren't they gonna release a sequel, couple years ago? Hope the success of Sam&Max makes them reconsider and finally release it..
"Beneath a Steel Sky", anyone?

Simply awesome! I do have to try it asap.
Can you do this without voiding your warranty? I love those LucasArts point and click adventure games. In a perfect world games like Full Throttle would be what the Wii is all about. But with Zack & Wiki (a pretty good game, actually -- but not Grim Fandango level, or anywhere close) giving it a go and selling 14 copies it probably isn't going to happen, which is a shame. As is the lack of great FPS games. Metroid Prime 3 proved (at least to me) that control wise the Wii rules for the First Person genre. But instead of revolutionary new shooters or old-school point-and-click adventures we're sure to be stuck with Carnival Games 2 and Throw the Thing at the Thing Deux.
holy crap! Does that mean I can play Grim Fandango on my Wii? wooo!
If lucasarts had any fucking brains they'd be selling collections of wii-enabled scummvm driven games.
They'd get a sell out of me for sure
Thank you internet!
@Sunjammer:
I'd pay $20 a piece for straight ports of LucasArts adventure games for the Wii. I'd shell out $30 or possibly even $40 for full 16x9 widescreen enhanced versions with some cool bonus material.
So how about Kings Quest next? Anyone ...? Guys?
thats awesome. does anybody think they will get Grim Fandango to run on the wii if they do iam sold.
@Sloopydrew: Yes you can - follow the link trail for information. You need a copy of Zelda and an SD card. It seems to work on Wiis (well, Zelda discs) from all regions.
I haven't tried it, but although the process is a bit involved, it doesn't seem too hard. Of course it *is* rather clumsy - unless I missed something, every time you want to run homebrew software, you've got to start Zelda, load the special save file, and talk to someone (at that point it crashes and the loader kicks in).
@quen: Yeah, you have to start Zelda every time as far as I know but I do know that somebody got a channel on the main menu set up so you didn't have to use the game every time, you could just click the channel and BAM!! (BAM!! refers to starting the homebrew)
FFS, Lucasarts..
Look!!
A GTA winner, and it's got your name all over it!
Very, very awesome.
This is great, I've been using ScummVM on my DS and it's been a blast. Not really paid my Wii that much attention recently, it's sag a bit too. But this should liven things up :-)
So just to reiterate: this is on a non-modded Wii, right?
Man, I want an Umlaut over the U in Wii Menu!
That is awesome. I haven't played Full Throttle for several years. It would like never having played it before. I can let its obscure puzzles piss me off like the first time. Thing is, I don't have a Wii anymore, and won't for a good while.
Holy...I must get this sucker running. I would love to see Full Throttle in that size!
Oh Wii...is there nothing you can't do? Besides HD that is...
Sweet. SCUMMVM seems to be the new benchmark for homebrew - it doesn't work until you can play SCUMM games on it.
I used to play Sam & Max with full voices on PSP, but I bet whack a mole is way easier with a Wiimote!
...uh, is there a Tyrian homebrew game for the wii? Is that the last icon on his Hombrew chan?
....Must... find.
(also, interested in skinning the channel... mine is vanilla right now... didn't know it was possible :)
@El_Fez: Then buy a German Wii. Instant Metal - "Like two eyes, staring at you..."
It took me a while to realise that the game was in German, and that the character weren't speaking gibberish.
Just out of curiosity, all you people that are so excited to play these old games on your wii...
Are you also all for people playing downloaded copies of GTAIV?
It's kind of the same concept.
Don't look at me, I actually have a nice collection of adventure games on cdrom. Doesn't mean I won't download more though (just like i downloaded GTAIV, and then bought it).
Wow. That is awesome.
@ThatGuyOverThere:
Not everyone who plays old games is a pirate. That's a pretty broad generalization, and a stupid thing to say.
I have (in boxed form) The Dig, Full Throttle, Sam and Max: Freelance Police, Beneath A Steel Sky, Day of the Tentacle and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. I also have Monkey Island 1 & 2 which are legally downloadable from the ScummVM website.
Not to sound like a broken record but DAMN, that was awesome.
@Sloopydrew: X-Wing would definately be worth it or even the Rebel Assault games.
HOLY MOLEY
I can't wait to play Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon.
But I think I will go with Putt-Putt Goes to the Parade first.
OMG, seriously? I actually have to get the homebrew thing working now. Holy shit. CoM, here I come.
OMG. I need a Wii and a way to get Grim Fandango!
@neuralien and @Silver_Back:
Grim Fandango wasn't on the SCUMM engine, though. It was on the GrimE engine. So, sorry, won't work in ScummVM.
@BPMΔ: you just broke a lotta hearts, man. including mine.
Meh, doesn't get my attention at all.
What really does though is FREAKING OLD CRT WITHOUT FLAT SCREEN!!!
Seriously now, 100 points added on my "you will buy a Wii" score chart.
I tried playing full throttle on my laptop in scummvm and I couldn't deal with the bike back fisticuffs sections, kinda killed it for me. Wonder how that part works on the wii.
Just imagine hearing the mariachi music and seeing Grim Fandango in widescreen hi res?? Oh man, i think i just soiled myself.
