Tabula Rasa has only been up and running for six months, but they've already lost a sizeable enough chunk of folks that they'd do anything to win you back. Since release they've had 8 new content updates, introduced alien hybrids, and added respec tokens to the mix, and for the week beginning May 5th and ending May 12th players who've passed on the action can log into their accounts and see how the game has been shaping up, completely free. I played the game a bit during beta as well as a good month after launch, and it just couldn't hold my attentions, but I'll log in next week, just in case it was just a case of bad timing.

Be sure to let us know. If not, I will continue to wait until NCSoft loses its marbles, makes it free to play with advertising subsidies, and then make it my new home.
I'd so been hoping for this game to be the next notch up from WoW, but from everything I've read, it hasn't been so.
Age of Conan, perhaps?
(Pretty please?)
Is a good action mmo to much to ask for, somthing like demons vs ninja's so you can make ninja chars or badass demon chars and like the game would be somthing dmc or ninja gaiden style, with collision dectection and stuff, if this idea is sounding good to me only i think ima quit playing videos forever
They can't do this another week with no major game releases?
Shouldn't they uh be working on a general free trial first? I went to their main site looking for one and couldn't find it. No way am I buying an MMO without a free trial first.
Is it just me or does the woman looks a lot like Mila Jovovich?
I did the beta for, oh, about 15 minutes. Not only did it run like crap (granted, my computer isn't gonna win any graphical Indy 500s), but I saw nothing of interest. Now, 15 minutes might not seem like a long time, but for an MMO, that can be plenty. In the first 15 minutes of Guild Wars, you get to wander the beauty of Ascalon. In WoW, you can wander the beauty of many varied environments. Even in CoX, you get to marvel at the bustling cityscape.
In Tabula Rasa, it was like, "go through this junkyard and shoot some guys". I had the same reaction to the LotR beta (midway through escaping the jail, I gave up). Honestly, I spent more time creating my character in these two games than I spent playing the actual game. MMOs just can't afford to be ugly and boring.
@Talleyrand: They do have a free trial. It is just really crappy. If you have the game, you can give out a 3-day free trial to four friends. So, you have to find somebody who has the game who hasn't already sent out their four free trials.
2 words:
Auto Assault.
NC Soft has been more miss than hit with those MMOs lately, I'm afraid. Maybe Lord British should've spent less time in space and more time working on his video game...
@badmoogle:
read my mind!
@mycroft2000: Well if you had actually logged off of WoW and played the game maybe you would've appreciated it.
You can buy it for 10$.
Look for it.
Obligatory comment:
"is this the patch that add teh fun?"
I have read that TR is full of Planetside exiles. So I will enter this week solelly to get some of these lazy buns to return to Planetside :D
