Look, EA are sorry, OK? Sorry they ever tried to take your money. It's not enough they bailed on their stupid plan to charge players for weapons in a shooter, but they're now positively breaking their backs bending over to you by announcing a DLC pack will be released for free. No word on a release date for this, but it'll be available post-launch (game's due for release in the summer) on both 360 and PS3, and will be based on the game's "Conquest Mode".

Make everything free like it was in the golden age of downloads and I'll call it even.
If they were really sorry they would return to me my 125 dollars for their faulty rock band guitar, that I returned to them in time. -.-* Bastards!
This is cool, but I need a demo to convince me this game is going to be worthy of putting COD4 in its case.
Nokay, thanks.
So in the future they're going to include for download a mode that should've been in the game already?
By the time this DLC is free the game will probably be on clearance somewhere.
Is this any good. I haven't even heard about it until not to long ago. Is it just the same old battlefield?
I think most would assume the free DLC was something that should have been included. Sorry or not, I don't think most people would forgive them, nor should they, imo. >_>
@超外人: Here here! I second! Back to GTA
it still doesnt get trust back, but score one for consumers. we got ea bending over backwards.
this is how devs should respond to the community. they screw up, they go the extra yard to fix it.
Why so negative?
From my point of view it looks like they tried a model, got really bad feedback and changed their plans. It deserves some praise, even if the whole thing was just to spin a bit of publicity.
I'm looking forward to this. COD4, as great as it is, is nearing the end of it's life for me. I think it's about to go onto life-support.
"This Christmas, EA and DICE invite you to stop playing Conquest Mode. After looking at player stats, we have determined that the desire for Conquest Mode is far below the interest of our general Battlefield: Bad Company players. to this end, we are removing the game type entirely so that we can allocate additional resources to letting you play Deathmatch, Vaguely Aligned Team Deathmatch, and Vehicle Stunt H4x with improved reliability and great advertising from our sponsor, the AMC motor company."
Almost exactly what happened to CTF in Battlefield post 1942.
Tried this game saturday, and I gotta say, that it's really a great game. It's rally fun. I canøt wait for it to get released, and then get the free DLC!
@thecactusman17:
Conquest mode - is that the co-op story campaign? If so, it's a big shame because that seemed interesting. Always thought that a Battlefield in a story co-op would seem like a cool idea.
