Awesome.
What publisher would be stupid enough to release anything NEAR GTA IV?
Well, to be honest, the timing of this game is pretty bad. Then again, so's the movie. I mean, aren't most going to be playing some carjacking game this weekend?
Oh, and what's this "connectedness" thing I see on my activity page? Does that make me a cool kid?
The demo was crap...
Flying around like a drunk
Oh... Totally Stark.
Seriously, Dick Clark has nothing on Stan Lee.
Oh, and it must be said.
exSELSIOR!
Quick note, is the movie stopping at 2:36 for anyone else?
@Dorphat:
I one hundred percent agree; the controls for that demo were so loose and bad.
i played the demo and liked it... X-P
but im not buying the game right away because ill be playing MGO and GTA...
I was left with a feeling of dread after playing the demo. The controls were extremely loose, the map was barren, and the AI was as basic as you can get. At the most, rent it.
I still haven't played the demo yet, guess I should get on that.
If I could describe the demo in one word, it would be "wonky". The controls, the gameplay, the voice overs,...it all felt wonky.
I think the demo would've been better if we could do more than fly around and shoot stuff. A cutscene or the ability to swap some modifications on the suit would've made the demo much more interesting. I wanted to get this, but the demo really didn't make me excited about it. In fact, it convinced me that I don't want this game. We need demos that are more than just poor tutorial levels, I want to know how the game actually feels (reference MGS2 demo).
@exkon: movie locks up at 2:36 for me too
The demo was rubbish. You soar around like a doofus with super sensitive controls, and sometimes you crash into the ground and fire BBs out of your hand at tanks.
Oh boy!
And Jarvis sounded like a robot. In fact, I thought it was his armor's AI talking to him until he called it Jarvis.
@Nasdaf: same here
well after playing the demo on both systems, this looks like it could be a pretty decent movie game...but I could be mistaken (sigh) *looks at Superman game*
Funny how the Ironman game is leaked online and nobody gives a crap about it, LMAO.
"Stan likes it. John likes it."
Well what the fuck do you think they'll say, it sucks?
The demo was terrible in my opinion
@wallapuctus: Jarvis IS a robot. He's his AI, J.A.R.V.I.S. XD
@exkon: It stops there for me as well.
@Ashurahori: At least in the movie, he is.
well, the demo was just horrible and assuming that they wont be fixing anything (and thers a lot to fix) I would have to say that this is yet just another bad movie game... :| at last the movie looks greate from the trailers.. cant wait to see it.. :)
but the game.. no ty, they had so much time to make this game and they do the same with it as most other developers who create those bad movie games... :(
@Ashurahori: You're joking right?
But... who will fix the Avengers sandwiches?
I thought the demo was fun enough.. for a demo. The game looks alright. I just didn't like how difficult it was to aim (SERIOUSLY need a lock on feature here), and the controls seemed kinda wonky. But otherwise, once you get the hang of it, its not bad at all. I was actually just starting to enjoy it, then it cut me off :/
BTW, Stan Lee FTW.
well i'm definately looking forward to this game. but, frankly, the timing is off. it sure wont move a lot early on i think. I can find a few hours for the movie, breaking away from gta4... but lord :( who can find time for the game?
A solid renter, i'll presume, after a few weeks of gta4.
Strange, I've played the demo several times over and I'd say the controls are pretty tight, once you get the hang out of it. But they are definately not wonky for me.
I rather like the style of the armor, too. When you put all your power on your thrusters, boost forward in flight mode and then hover, Iron Man fires his boosters to brake, then hold his altitude. Nice.
Sure, they are not 100% responsive, but I think it's by design. The armor is like a modern fighter plane, just wearable.
But I'll be playing GTA when this comes out, so maybe I'll but it used in a month or so.
@exkon: YES.
unfortunately.
(Hey Kotaku, your Flash Player sucks, put the vid on YouTube!)
@TheBard:
The problem at first, with the controls for me, was that I'm used to "going" with the left analog stick and aiming my character with the right analog stick.
In Iron Man, the right stick is solely the camera. So instinctively, myself and others, want to aim Iron Man with the right stick but you have to use the left. So it feels awkward for a while.
I, however, loved the demo. And am definitely buying the game.
@karasu is my homeboy: Yeah, I really understand that. But I guess that after 15 minutes or so, you don't really have to think about it. Like I said, people should really see this game as steering some kind of high-tech warplane, not moving some guy around.
See Stan Lee as a sweet old man just makes me want to bye the iron man game but I rather see the Movie.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one here to enjoyed the demo. This is definitely a must buy for me, even though I'll be busy enough with GTA IV and MGO beta. Not a bad problem to have this time of the year, though.
If you like yourself a nice and short superhero game, Iron Man is for you!
@Nasdaf: Samer here, locks up at 2:36. I've tried Firefox and IE.
To those moaning about the controls: You sound like a bunch of causual gamers. At least try to learn the controls.
