We're eventually going to get to the point where someone recreates the Old Testament as Klingon musical theater in Unreal Tournament 3, but until then, we'll have to settle for custom characters and UT2D gameplay mods and user-generated content like this Super Mario Bros. style map. If only we could add mods to cancer research or something. The cure would be on the internet with a Creative Commons license by the weekend.

Frakking awesome.
The power of technology is amazing, especially in the hands of people who are really bored. XD
Reminds me of Soldat.
This looks glorious.
Awesome :D
LOLOLOL
Awesome. Simply awesome.
Holy crap.
Well, time to go hunt for a 60gb PS3.
Power of mods on consoles... Obviously PC has enjoyed this stuff for years but the 360 is seriously going to miss this awesome content.
man sometimes amazes me what the UT mod ppl take the time to come up with and do it decently. now to wait on a Extreme Death Little Big Planet mod
I was a little confused when it was all in 2D, but wow, that looked fun.
Epic win. Too bad I only have the PS3 version.
Shit... NM, I guess theres a PS3 version!
When universes collide
Woo,my email was read.
Also,i wish the PS3 version had the sound effects and music...but still its a really fun game mode.
@Kanik:
Only problem is, you can't get the custom sound effects on the PS3 version, only PC version. You can have the stage and custom textures, but no Mario sounds. Still cool, but not as cool as it is on PC.
PC and PS3 ftw???
really , i can't believe MS don't want this kind of things in their console...
It's more than 50% of UT3 ,without doubt, if you can't have mods the game gets really old after two weeks of playing it...
Oh. My. God.
*runs to bathroom*
mind = blown
Very cool. It seems the action stays underground most of the time, but other than that it's awesome.
I sent this in yesterday, oh well.
It is a fun map to play on.
That's pretty awesome!
Looks great. It's nice to see creativity run wild.
I think this just sold me on UT3...
I want to use this mod along with the Samus model.... awwwwwwww yeah!
PS3 AWAY!
Hahaha, awesome!
damn! why cant the 360 version support mods? i hope they do figure it out and support em cuz this is the ONE mod id really love to play!
That is extremely cool, but I wish they spent more time playing above ground..
Holy calzones that was amazing.
I'm feeling pretty stupid right about now.
Got it downloaded and added to the PS3, but as yet I'm unable to figure out how to, you know... play it.
I feel double plus unsmart.
Yup, need to read the full thread first, I'm a tool.
Needed another Mod first. Then I can play.
I'll, um... TSFU now.
@z357x:
There's one already! Look for it in gametrailers.com
Damn, that looks pretty impressive, must get UT3!
Unreal T.3 meets Abuse meets Mario. Works for me!
UT2D reminds me of Soldat. Ah, that was a fun game.
flak monkeys are the reason everything bad ever happened.
cool map btw
you do have a good point. if someone can make cancer research fun, then i'm sure the cure would be found much quicker.
while i can't say i'd play it, the concept for it and the fact that they actually got it working using the UT tools is inspiring
I think this is kind of the future of gaming....it is awesome and yes the future of gaming is in hands of EXTREMELY bored people.
This is why PC gaming will never die.
This is why UT3 on 360 with mods would be a must own. Otherwise it won't even be worth using as a coaster.
This reminded me of Macky Avatar Mccandlish's side scrolling quake 2.
..Which I am more than certain was harder to make.
Heh. That looks awesome. Reminds me of my own Super Mario Bros. mod for Call of Duty. Except mine had no weapons and only goomba kills. :(
@Matt008:
@Benguin:
was most certainly thinking that myself as soon as he went to the underworld.
Awesome!
Now, for Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, etc models...
@Itri: Rather than extremely bored, I'd call them extremely creative or artistic.
Looks amazing, reminds me of the hours I spent playing unreal flash.
the second i saw the UT2D mods i kept wating for this map top pop up
i don't see how anyone would want to buy UT3 for the 360, PC or PS3 its the way to go
Not a fan.
Only thing I noticed was the Cocoa Brovaz "Supa Brooklyn" background music playing.
that's unreal.....
wow. terrible joke. still fucking awesome. i really want to play this.
Ahhh that's what they made out of the Zeeless mod. Awesome. Kudos to jbizzler and his team.
That was sweet. If they would use this engine and style to make Contra I would be all over that.
I knew it. Mario is a Flak cannon whore. >:(
*** Game Encyclopedia Type Comment ***
There was two sidescreen shotter mods for Quake1, one whas TargetQuake (from Avatar), and the other was a rip-off of a commodore 64 game... Giana Quake.
More recently, FrikaC has made a 2D version of quake called "Qake". And theres a 2D version of Half-Life, I forget the name.
wow.. seriously reminded me of SSBB. Just need are all the brawl characters mod, and we have SSBB for the PS3... Wohoooo!
UT awesomeness...
and ready for download for ps3 already
That looked really cool, must grab a copy of UT3 at some point.
Meh, no one jumped on anyone else's head.
The part of me that isn't impressed is a tad uncomfortable at the fact that we spend all this time making realistic physics-based 3d games to perfectly reproduce a 20-year old game.
USSBT1
That is so beast.
This is...is truly a thing of beauty, I think I'm gonna cry tears of joy for this awesomness! :)
@BPMγ: Why can't you get them on the PS3, though? Tokyo Sewers managed to do it... Why not this game?
I keep forgetting I have BOTH versions (PS3 and PC) because I only use the PC version for the editor... I'll have to check out the PC version of this mod.
"Tokyo Sewers managed to do it..."
Last I checked no one knew how. A looping ambient noise (that happened to be a song) played as the BG music in place of the actual BG music from the PC version and no one knew why.
