Another update? I haven't even been able to download the first one successfully. I might as well just delete the thing and get it over with.

So does the beta start tonight or tomorrow night?

You can only expect things like this from a beta really... well updates seem to be a regular thing these day even for released software so I guess it's just the ~natural~ order of things :|

somewhere along the line, betas transformed from finding bugs to free preview time, but i guess konami didnt get the memo.

I do not play MGS for multiplayer. THe reason I want to play this is to feel the controls for MGS4.

All these hoops we have been jumping through are because this is a Beta. THe full game will be better for all the issues they iron out now.

Oh yeah remember to seed the update. You know how Bit Torrents work.

Well at least the update is going much faster. Hopefully that means the servers are doing well.

@rochec: It seems like this update is smaller than the 1.01 update. Also if you did the peer-to-peer style update, its more indicative of how many people are DYING to play this game but cannot.

I'm glad I read this now, because I am going to start the download and hope for the best.

...Although immediately after writing that sentence an error occurred with the HTTP download and the peer-to-peer is blazing along at a nice is 0.6 Kb/s. We will all be saints when this is done.

@rochec: Its a fraction of the size, like 10 meg kinda area. I heard the first update was 1 or 2 gigs.

yeah actually the speed picked up after having 0 peers for a few minute and even though its only in the 20-30 Kb/s range it is a fourth of the way through. I was scared it was going to be another patch that was larger than the initial download.

I thought the beta starts in 2 min...

Yeah I was buzzed when I saw the update was available, I thought I was going to finally get to play the game.
Ah well, just a few hours to go...

@Dir_en_grey: Pretty sure 24:00 is midnight, it's just normally known as 0:00.

That would be 2 more hours until midnight pacific time. Which is what it says.

The Beta starts on Friday at 2400.

That means Midnight, Friday night. Or Saturday 12:00 AM, however you want to look at it.

And that's Pacific time (-8 GMT).

time for me to stop bittorrenting movies and fire up my PS3 to bittorrent the update!

Fun, I'll have to get this update as long as it doesn't take 2 hours like the last one did. I doubt it will, probably much more seeds and whatnot.

Ok apparently 24:00 is sometimes used to represent the exact end of a day. So probably tomorrow as Konami said the beta was planned for the "weekend".

Ah damn, I was stoked earlier thinking it might open up at midnight tonight, but it does seem like 24:00 Friday means the end of the day...

Believe me, I've been going over this in my head all day and honestly no one has a clue. Would be nice if someone from Konami clarified, but considering how things have been the last 2 weeks with them and this Beta...

That and not many places use 24:00 as a signal for the end of the day. I've never seen a clock in my life on 24-hour time that uses it.

UGH, Im still getting network error occured for HTTP, (I'd rather it, but I'll do peer 2 peer anyway.)

It's tomorrow night, midnight...the Press Release was clear as day, Friday 24:00 (which in military time is the END of the day), leading into Saturday.

Are you kidding me? Another update? First one took three days to get a connection. Kill me now. WORST. BETA. EVER.

@jackal888: The problem is that you can't go back to seed after you accept the completed download.

@The Yam!: 24:00 = 0:00 = 12:00 am.

So the beta starts on the 26th by that logic and not the 25th. Unless Friday gets to claim three 12 o'clocks!

I had a feeling another patch would be released due to overwhelming demand for people to play this tomorrow night. Wasn't that much of a to download. Was fluctuating between 375-500 majority of time. should be a good sign for server update on their behalf hopefully. We'll have to wait it out again.

See, the thing that has been bugging the shit out of me is that if it is 24:00 on the 25th, that would be midnight tonight. How can a day have 3 12 o'clock hours?

If it was the end of tomorrow, they would've (if they were smart) said the 26th. I've never seen a clock in my life that still said the previous day when midnight rolled around and I've been working with 24-hour clocks for years now.

Alright this update is small so people really don't need to worry about 3 day downloads. As long as you get in while everyone is doing it instead of waiting you'll be good, after I completed the download I just left it going to keep uploading to others(Hitting around 50kbps) I guess I'll just let it go until tomorrow when I come home. It does suck that you can't go back to seed because that definitely would have helped with the first update, but if people just leave their systems running this will be such a painless update.

damn it's nice to be able to dl the damn update quickly took me 5-10 mins tops. can't wait to play. i was one of those people that thought it was tonight this sucks lol

Downloading it directly from the website wasn't too bad. Took about 5 minutes to download this update.

I won't ever compalin about kojima. That man has given us a good 2 decades without complaining and obviously doesnt want to work on mgs anymore sadly. I love MGS unfortunatly kojima doesn't want to be a one trick pony. Lets hope the betas fun
