For those who cannot be away from their PSPs for even a moment, there's this: A plastic bag you can put your PlayStation Portable in. Once sealed, it makes your handheld portable waterproof, so you can watch digital TV or something. Products like this for cell phones have been around for ages in Japan (like at least since 2004!), so it's not surprising to see this. Not surprising at all.

I actually wanted to take my PSP with me in the shower, the other day. I wanted to listen to some music...
anyone else get an involuntary tightening of the chest when you see this pic? Its like a child walking on the edge of some cliff or a bridge or something. You just want to grab it away from there to make it safe!
Seems like this could be easily done with a bit of DIY.. Though I'd be scared of water coming in.
Omfg is this dust proof? I am starting to get some dust creepage in my PSP from being in my dusty old bag all the time. Id like something to put it in and this may be the perfect thing!
@JimElNino: I hear you. My DS is so dirty around the edges cause dust seeps in and the plastic shell prevents it from being cleaned. If this thing was $5 and I could find it at a local retailer, I'd get one just to keep the dust away.
@JimElNino: I'm fairly certain that if it stop water coming in that your dust problems would be left in the sands of time....(This statement has no affiliation with Prince of Persia)
Hah... I can see kids taking this to Wet 'n Wild (local water park). If I find one floating in the pool... it's mine.
The possibilities now! I can go swimming with my PSP. PSP:The Life of the Aquatic.
Could always use it to keep your PSP clean while watching those porn UMDs.
Look! It even has a purse strap so I can carry my PSP with me when I go do the shopping. Delightful. But seriously though, is this just one of those bags little kids use to put their colouring pencils in?
I still want a case that is thin but can make me confident that I can leave it in my pocket and not have the large woman sitting next to me on the bus crush it with her massive thighs.
Yeah there is something kinda creepy about this...
@cheeses: Looks like one, but, to me, it looks more like a sandwich bag.
Do people not trust Ziplocks? They seem to have a strong enough seal.
I have a guilty pleasure... I play online multiplayer DS games while lounging in a swimming pool. I've dropped 1 in and I'm on my 2nd DS.
@Kanik: LMAO
now if they made psp shaped soap bars, i would take a shower with that.
wouldnt be surprised if someone buys this and plays games under water........ just please don't forget to post on youtube. thanks!!
@Doomstalk: double you,oh,double you..... that is all :D
The next step is a means of playing your PSP while also on fire.
Its for Sex maniacs who need it every day.... You can imagine the rest.
i wish i could have something like this for my ds.
@TRT-X: now that would be as Paris Hilton would day, "Hot".
Isn't this contraption - coupled with the hot water in the bath - likely to cause the PSP to overheat? There's no ventilation, obviously!
I just use a resealable sandwich bag for my archos and make sure i don't drop it.
What? I get bored in the bath.
@Doomstalk:
Second.
Pretty pointless... Why would you want a PSP in the first place? :P j/k
@Doomstalk: Now I have a justifiable reason to get one.
@niacin:
:Quietly grins as his rubber ducky floats next to his PSP in the bath tub:
If they invent a system like that for books, where you can still turn the pages, I'm buyin'. Oh, the number of books I dropped in the water... it's a good thing I hardly ever take baths (meaning I take showers, not that I'm a filthy slob).
@Antiterra: Crap, you pre-empted my punchline
Japan and any other country I guess... we even have stuff like that here in Brazil.
Used one of those to carry my cellphone to the beach. It's incredible it didn't broke, considering all the salty water, sand and stuff.
Also bought one to Wet 'n Wild with a digicam inside.
Problem? After a while, it gets too foggy and dirty to see anything through it. But I guess I bought a cheap-o version...
@Doomstalk:
ewww ... lol, but ewww.
I do not understand this concept. Are you telling me that I cannot take one of the quart sized ziplock bags in my pantry , stick a handheld in it, push the air out, and seal and not get the same results for much cheaper?
I mean the bag hardly looks custom fit for the PSP anyway. Sure it's snugger than a quart bag would be, but it's not exactly like a waterproof case or anything.
Next time I want to take my DS to the pool I'll just bag it myself...
i know someone who lost a DS by playing in the bathtub & dropped it in. and no, they weren't 7. ridiculous what some people get up to. still seems like something a ziploc could take care of if you deemed it truly necessary. do they not have ziplocs in Japan?
I can't say I'm surprised. They have mp3 player toothbrushes in Japan nowadays.
Hope that's thick plastic, get your PSP hot enough or even in the hot bath and it'll warp and breach open...
@rainofwalrus: that's cool! I'd wanna do that.
@AndrewG009: You got a waterproof laptop too?
I take my DS into the bathtub sometimes... Nothing like relaxing in a hot tub playing some DS...I just use a ziploc bag though.
