Please don't comment below saying "OMG no digital downloads list = fail" or something. You'll look like an idiot. We know these charts aren't the truest indication of what PC gamers actually paid money for a couple weeks back. But they're all we've got. And hey, you might even enjoy these ones, since for once they're dominated by real, proper PC games!
1) Assassin's Creed
2) WoW Battle Chest
3) Sins of a Solar Empire
4) Call of Duty 4
5) Sims 2 FreeTime
6) WoW
7) Sims 2
8) C&C 3: Kane's Wrath
9) WoW: Burning Crusade
10) Portal
See, Portal's in there, you happy now?

yes, yes I am.
Assassin's Creed? I didn't know that many people even had PCs that could support that game.
Portal charted by itself! It totally distracted me from noting that these charts don't include digital downloads. :D
Sins of Solar Empire again?! Im in tears! The people are finally learning to buy good games! Im going to die a happy man as a result.
@peAr_nectAr: Who said the people buying it had PC that could support it? D:
Hmmm.. maybe I should try Sins of a Solar Empire out. Can anyone share his experiences with the game? :x
@peAr_nectAr: Actually, the system requirements for the PC version aren't as bad as the ones originally announced.
If your computer has video card better than a GeForce 6800, one gig of ram, and dual-core CPU, you should be able to run the game fine.
Keep it up Sins!(yes the inanimate object has control over its destiny)
I want to see a sequel.
@DarkGildon: If you don't like micro managing, it is the game for you. :\
After being used to Company of Heroes' super-combat-micro-managing, SOSE is very calm.
@DarkGildon: Think Supreme Commander big... and then bigger...er! You dont actually command as many units but the size of the universe goes from claustraphobic to massive. The battles are fun and everything is surprisingly manageable. There are some parts of the game that are just plane fun like watching the mushroom clouds rise off of planets getting bombarded (Battlestar Galactica style :D). Its just a really neat game. If you were ever a fan of RTS games, this is a breath of fresh air, or at least it was for me.
Luke why are you so concerned with what people play? Does it affect you and/or your life in some way? Does a little part of you die every time a copy of The Sims is sold or a Briton buys Mario & Sonic?
I'm just concerned for your health and well being is all ;-)
@Roflcopter_Down: Wants you to follow HIM!: Im still glad to see a real game like SOSE beat... all that other crap.
@Roflcopter_Down: Wants you to follow HIM!:
My best friend is addicted to that game, glad to see it doing well.
@NitrousO: After seeing the trailers and such for SOSE, I was hoping for BSG levels of awesome. Late game is massive though.
@Roflcopter_Down, NitrousO: I guess I'll try it out, then. :)
Go Sins! We Rub Joo!
I'm glad Sins of a Solar Empire is doing really well.
Shocked @ Assassins Creed popularity.
I guess I just didn't get that game.
It's nice to see Sins on that list.
I'm suprised Crysis isn't on that list
Whoo COD4 still rippin up the scene. A game that still hasn't gotten it's fair share of legitimate purchases.
@DarkGildon:
I'd suggest you download the demo to try it out. It plays great, a bit too slow for a hardcore RTS player like me, but I haven't turned up game speed to maximum yet.
OMG no digital downloads list = fail... or something
wtf where is quake 2?!
\o/
@karasu is my homeboy: It was in my opinion a game where the experience completely depended on how you came at it. Getting chased after some of those assassinations were so awesomely dramatic and there was nothing as satisfying as turning a corner and suddenly sitting down on a bench with some people and watching as the guards go running around the corner and down the street looking for you. :)
That and it was hilarious to watch my friend try to play. He managed to bump a guard attacking an old lady that he was trying to save safely to the side while he accidentally gave her a the wrist blade into the gut. I never let him live it down :D
Im happy portal, call of duty 4 and assasin's creed are up there, they are in my favorite games even if just in consoles since I dont use my pc for games.
@Molbork: They already announced an expansion I believe. A sequel is guaranteed at this point though. I really hope they put in a real single player campaign preferably with some kind of story.
Count me as someone who contributed to the Sins sales for that week, that game is insane.
Wow, I wonder how many people are registering their games with Stardocks digital download service, so they can get the patches. If even a fraction of the people are that service is going to get a nice infusion of people and possibly more 3rd party games, hopefully a few more indi's too.
I totally bought all the game down through four with the exception of any that are addictive, suck, and an MMO.
I'm really happy Assasin's made in there. It is by fr the best of the ports. I for one am a PC gamer first then 360, PS3 and Wii...yes in that order of prefference.
Holy shit.. only two Sims games! Hallelujah!
I'm extraordinarily happy to still see Sins in the top 3. That is absolutely fantastic success.
@Atheist Jew:
And for a new company too, now if only they'd fix IronClad Online, or atleast educate the masses on how to use it properly
I still have to get that damn Sins game. It's Homeworld-esq charm would probably be the downfall of my degree though.
Wait for me, on the far side of the galaxy my dear...
@peAr_nectAr: @NitrousO: @Azentium:
This is what it took me to run Assassins Creed for pc. It doesnt take much at all to run the game.
Geforce 8600 512mb
3 gb ram
Windows Vista
Dvd drive
320 gb hdd
(heres the prize winner folks)
AMD 4000+ 2.2ghz (that right not even a dual core and it is being run on directx 10 with everything set to max insane I know.)
Its litterally insane because i can run Assassins Creed no problems and Crysis on the other hand which is not a needy, I can barely run on medium specs.
Oh and is anyone else a little bit furious that Star Wars the Force Unleashed isn't coming to pc? With those graphics and physics they could atleast think about it. Maybe im just expecting too much from them.
Damn, Warhammer 40K: DOW already dropped off? I really like the series and wish it didnt fall off so fast. Oh well, guess Ill have to wait for Warhammer 2.
@Jnkzm4:
Wait it runs on single cores? Damn, where's my wallet!
@Jnkzm4:
Yeah I am a bit too, but I still have my doubts whether it's going to turn out good or not.
I swear to god, I thought I was the kid in this picture for a second. It looks like a shot my dad took of me YEARS ago.
Assassins creed:
Running it on middling to lower settings you could set up a pc that could run it for under $500 now. (Not including anything but the tower itself that is..)
