Well, I'm sure the low kicks and vertical slices will do well against him, but I can also see slow characters having a hard time against him. I'm sure he probably has that ONE cheesy short character move like Gon had.

I find it funny that out of his obvious advantages (the force, a freaking lightsaber) they pick his height as the most obvious reason he's cheap. And you know what? It makes sense. What kind of a world do we live in where short swordsmen are more feared than swordsmen with lightsabers?

@Magic Emperor Anima: It's at least inspiring that this game (well, at least the 360 version) was designed with the character in mind, rather than Gon being tacked on for the home version. It'll certainly be interesting to see how they handle patching for the other inevitable balance issues that'll pop up.

Not only will High attacks not hit him, but all of his attacks will be mid-low attack range. He could be broken.

If they balance him right, I think it can work - a lot of the gameplay I've seen has him jumping a LOT - so much so that half his time in fights is spent at other characters' eye-level. Therefore, he may be short half the time, normal height half the time... and on top of that probably balanced in terms of power of his attacks, so... no, I don't think he's broken. He'll just play differently.

He'll be banned from tourneys as most tournament don't allow special characters. He won't be a problem for me as Voldo will kick his ass all day long.

Those are not the kinds of things I want to hear from someone just coming off of a fighting game development team. Have we just given up on trying to balance the game?

So glad I'm getting the PS3 version...this way I don't have to deal with lame Yoda-spammers at all.

This is the part where my friends and I will make the rule that no one can be Yoda. However, Yoda will be kickass so we will have mediated all-out Yoda fights. Fair, right? I think so.

Reminds me of the little guy (don't remember is name) in Golden Eye ! You couldn't shoot him directly without having to aim down, which wasn't that easy back then with the N64 controller !

If this was any regular sort of character, and he was broken, I could understand the frustration. But it's freaking Yoda, which renders all complaining dumb. And to my memory, every fighting game I've ever played (I concede I have not played anything like a lot of fighting games) has been plagued by some cheap way to play, whether wall-trapping, ring outs, juggling, or playing as Necrid. So, nothing new, and at least this time the broken thing is a Jedi master. Awesome!

Oh, and: if anyone, ANYONE, doesn't have the Kid Koala song 'dinner with Yoda', get it now. Please.

Because they'd have to pay for Mark Hamill's likeness rights, probably. Yoda doesn't have an actor they'd have to pay, nor does Vader, being a man in a suit. They can hire voice sound-alikes, and the only people who they have to work with are LucasArts.

Gon was so broken. Only character in a Tekken game aside from Jinpachi with the ability to kill a character from full life in two or three hits.

He could instakill you too if you were stupid. I can only assume Yoda will be like this, which is why I'm glad PS3 owners get Vader instead. At least Vader fights like a normal combatant.

@Archaotic: Yoda isn't Jinpachi and Jinpachi was an end boss that wasn't playable in multiplayer originally.
Although I had been know to spend hours on him with the characters I'm bad as.

Well, hopefully we'll see what's been done to keep him from being too ridiculous sometime soon...
