The Fallout 3 collector's edition puts all other collector's editions to shame. Including this one.

I'm not big enough a fan of Soul Calibur to buy into this. I'm more of a 2D fighting fan and although I'm interested in SCIV, I definitely will not be buying it at full price.

I love Soul Calibur, but this CE package doesn't do anything for me. By the way, I'm a small... I hate it when I get t-shirts that are size Xtra Fat.

I don't want Star Wars mixed in with my Soul Calibur. I don't even like star wars, and this is SUCH a obvious attempt to get their fans to play this game.

intriguing but the tshirts i think are a little off in theme. yeah i see vader for ps3 and yoda for 360. but the pairing characters don't really work. Yoda/Sigfreid work pretty well but then why is the other Vader/Mitsurugi? Wouldn't it make more sense to throw Knightmare?

I know this is coming down the line of being picky, I guess I'm always looking for a theme or pattern.

But anywho, i'd have to say that if this is all that's going to be included in the set then I'm a little saddened.

Is that box metal? I'd throw a handle on it and make it a lunch box, probably not worth $89 to me though.

Speak for yourself, Luke...I still have the shirt (XL) that I received with the original Soul Calibur for the DC. And I squeezed my fat ass in it at the time (of course now, I ain't as fat an ass ^_^).

Nope. I love Soul Calibur, but this is one big hell no. Eighty dollars for this? I could create those shirts if I wanted to. As for the comic, wait awhile, it'll be scanned online like everything else. Man, this is a boring limited edition in comparison to games like Halo 3 or Grand theft Auto IV.

You kick ass Namco, but if you want people to shell out almost a hundred dollars, step-up what you're offering already!

This is nothing special, maybe the art book, but not at all worth the 80$. Why must they assume that every gamer is a fat lazy slob that sits on his couch all day with cheeto stains on their shirts? Don't throw in the shirts unless we can choose the size we want, I've had two collectors shirts that I can't wear because it's too big and fits me to my shins. /rant

This is yet another well done CE. My impressions of most of them are "$15 more for a steelbook case in cardboard packaging with an artbook". Throw in shirts and lockboxes, duffel bags and all kinds of goodies and I'm in.

Very lazy CE in my opinion, especially making the t-shirt XL. I still have my Baldur's Gate II shirt from the CE and that was a medium I think. Maybe it was bigger in North America, mind you.

Anyway, Bioshock and looking forward, Alone in the Dark and Fallout 3 have shown how to do a really good CE. Tin box and an art book doesn't cut it any more.

Having said that, I really liked that for Dead Rising they had a tin edition but just sold it at the same price as the regular one while it was available (here in the UK at least).

And after all that, $80 is still cheaper than the standard game will cost here so I'd take it for that price!

Wow you know what i was gonna grab the special edition. But after seeing this...ehhh..no thx. Last year Gamstop was having a promotion or something and i got a free soul calibur 3 t-shirt when i bought the game. But damn 80 bucks for a shirt and a book :/

It's an OK collectors package but it should have been $10 more not $20.

I'd also note that Namco has given away both art books and t-shirts before away for free from other Soul Calibur games. A music CD was included in the guide.

So basically for the price of the Collectors edition vs. what was given before, we are actually losing out on a strategy guide in exchange for a .... tin box....

I kind of like the PS3 shirt. Although it pains me that the shirt is XL, so it'll be fine to wear around the apartment, but I'd look weird anywhere else since I wear small/medium.

I skipped out on SC2 and SC3, but I think I might give this game a chance. The cheesy marketing with Darth Vadar and the Tales of looking character has caught my interest. I think I'll go for the normal edition at this point. The LE's aren't worth $20. :/

lol, man, that's the biggest word-based con since people would put an add in the paper selling a 'solar powered clothes dryer' the 50's and 60's, and when you would order the thing they'd send you a clothes pin.

@ShaggyB: You won't have to wait 6-8 months. I bet in the first 2 months somebody will have at least a $10 off sale and by 4 months someplace might be selling it for $40. I remember all the sales I saw for games like Bioshock, Assasins Creed, Halo, and Mass Effect after only 3 or 4 months.

easy answer: no, no it's not worth $80.

hell, i'm not sure if a new soul calibur game is worth $60! series didn't move forward with III, so why should I expect anything other than a lateral move for IV.

show me some SCII style gameplay and fast, intuitive controls and i'll gladly show up with the $60. in fact, if it's a game on a par with how much i loved SCII when i first played it, i'll pay $80 just for the game!

For anyone interested, the latest Famitsu issue confirms that Talim, Rock and Yoshi (the samurai with rotating cuffs, not the dinosaur) will be included in SCIV. I haven't found any scans yet, I hope they haven't subjected Talim to the abominable boob treatment they have inflicted on all the other female chars.
