Damn, you reader people are talented. Our make-an-airplane contest has drawn to a close! Here are the top twenty reader crafted planes, all competing for a copy of Ace Combat 6. We got tons of submissions. Much love to everyone who took the time to enter. Here's how the voting works. There is a gallery below. Click through it and vote for ONE PLANE that you like by writing "I vote for this" directly under that photo. Vote only once. Failure to do so will cause your vote to be void and end in us showing you the door. To see how the voting worked last time, click on this post. Voting ends midnight, MOUNTAIN TIME. One more thing! We will be posting the cosplay entries in a separate voting post a little later. Sit tight!

what happened to the one with the freakish clown kids dressed as a plane? i want to vote for that one!
Man, hard choice. I'm going with the playing card plane.
Voting for the delicious Koberlone plane.
@kwonster: As he said, cosplay planes are a different category to be posted later.

@ManjiKengo:
@kwonster:
Reading is hard.
@Evdor:
Ditto for you, sport.
Fucking Koblerone FTW!
It was a hard choice, but I put my vote under the potato (i think?) one.
also, where is Kotaku on the plastic fork one?
Man...that was a difficult choice. In the end I went for most inventive material.
Go, go Carrot Plane!
Quick question, Bash: are submissions for all contests going to be voted in this way from this point on? While it's definitely much easier for tabulation, I can't help but feel a little something is lost when you can't read each entrant's "pitch."
@Neo_Deus:
I do see your point, but the pic *should* stand on its own. You know?
These are all quite nice. Good job at everyone, and enjoy your internet - fames :p
@Brian Ashcraft: I suppose. Well, duly noted!
I vote for the Wiimote plane!
mhhh koblerone!
Isn't one of those an already existing plane with playing cards stuck to the outside?
Aww... mine didn't even make the top 20? I thought it was pretty good...
I vote for the penny plane. A lot of hard work went into that one.
Here's my entry, if any of you guys are curious.
I'm a little bummed that it didn't even make the voting post, after spending several hours on it... oh well.
If I still had it, I was going to enter a plane that I made out of garbage bag twist ties thingies. It looked a lot like a Grumman Hellcat. The twist ties were even a dark blue like they were. I made it when I was in high school, but I could have stuck a K on it and sent it in...
Definitely the 50 pence piece one.
Should have numbered the pictures for your sanity though Ashcraft
@RPGr: Oops just read it. We need to click then type in each pictures kommentary. I suck
I accidentally posted twice under the waffle plane, I thought it didn't go through. My bad!
I like the coin plane, because thats just cool.
Definitely the coin plane. You have to grind your blacksmithing skill tree for a long time to get that good.
I will also vote for the coin plane. Seems to be the one with most skill involved.
I the potato war...
I vote for the coin plane.
50p coin plane
Wow, a lot of these are really cool. The fork one is awesome: abstract, it would look great blown up to actual size (using giant plastic forks). I can see Boeing commissioning one for $500,000 to put outside their headquarters. The Coke one made me laugh at loud, literally. But my vote has to go for the delicious Koblerone plane.
"I accidentally posted twice under the waffle plane, I thought it didn't go through. My bad!"
@Concretepiggy: I almost posted twice too. It looks like it's taking a while for comments to come up.
coin plane ftw
I posted twice as well, since I even refreshed it on another machine (one that I had never visited kotaku on, so no cache) and it didn't show up. Don't bounce my vote :(
Little tiny one with the popsicle stick!
popsicle stick plane FTW
cake plane! delicous and deadly
Coin plane gets my vote
Kotaklerone ftw! Who can say no to Kandy?
Call me cynical but I wasn't entirely convinced a few of those were created for the contest.
@klew: Haha, the fact that you think that makes me all the more proud of it. If you want proof that it was built from scratch, I have a picture of the inside here:

I hope posting this doesn't get me disqualified or something. But I guess it'd be worth it to prove my (and my brother's, mind you) creation is actually mine.
the forks one was AWESOME !
I'm suddenly hungry for some thundercake
Definitely voting for the kotaku on a snake plane
The coin one is just great.
I've lost all respect I had for Kotaku. I created a plane by cutting and welding scrap metal into a nice looking & large plane. I designed it so that it could hold vehicles inside and outfitted vehicles with Kotaku emblems. I spent days making this plane and it is evident.
And Kotaku doesn't even include it but you include planes made in two seconds that look worse.
Example, a plane made out of a liquor bottle with a piece of mikes hard lemonade cardboard laid on top of it. Are you kidding me... Or people throwing pieces of their gaming equipment into a pile (not all were mediocre,one was good)... Or someone pushing mash potatos or pancakes into a pile... etc.
I seriously cannot believe this, my impression of Kotaku has dramatically changed. I hereby boycott this contest and refuse to vote.

@Gam3r: I see where you're coming from... the liquor bottle and gaming paraphernalia ones have me a little miffed as well. It's a little painful to see several that were clearly thrown together within 15 minutes up there after working for a few hours on mine... and it sounds like you worked even harder.
I think I may have accidently double-voted. My comment didn't appear after awhile, so I submitted a new one.
I still don't see either of them, but I don't know if I just can't see them or what, but please don't ban me.
I still intend to vote, though... I just haven't decided which I'd rather vote for. The cotton swab Wright-Flyer is very impressively done, and the Ace Combat B2 is clever and... devoted, heheh.
@Gam3r: I'll have you know that the P15-Thundercake was not "pushed" together. It was crafted by my very own hands and carefully constructed with kabob stick superstructure. Oh, and its delicious.
@Gam3r: Maybe your mail disappeared in a spam folder somewhere or something.
In any way, would be nice to see it, please post a link to it.
It kind of disappoints me that the coin plane is going to win. I mean it's not something made originally for this contest and it's not even a jet. I'd much rather see something original, no matter how crappy, win.
Also, given that it's 50pence is the guy in England? I'm presuming the copies they have to give away are US copies of the game - if the guy lives in the UK, how likely is it he has a US 360? He's going to win a game he can't even play.
I tried to vote for the "Snakes AS a Plane" entry twice, but my account doesn't look like it'll be approved by "Midnight Mountain time"!lol
@Stevedroid, I agree mate would be nice to see an original entry win rather than something made previous to the contest.
