I think Lara Croft, I think 90's platforming, dinosaurs and leaps of faith. You may, however, think of something else. Well, two things. If so, don't be too disappointed when you see this new, premium 12" figure from Sideshow, depicting Ms. Croft as not only well-prepared, but well-dressed. She's packing ten weapons/accessories, 30+ points of articulation and three pairs of interchangeable hands, and will be available Q4 for around USD$80. Nice boots.

Aw yeah, not bad. I think I still love my old stash of Quake 2 figurines the most, though.
So then would this qualify as minimum risky?
Wow, those are nice boots....
I like her face. It doesn't really look like any of the Laras I remember, but it's strong and looks cool.
That first pose is awkward, though.
The important question is obviously 'do the clothes come off then?'.
That's not tasteful.
Huge, silicone tits that defy gravity are tasteful. And tasty.
R.I.P., older version of Lara.
Its nice to see clothes on her, seeing as how on the first level of TR: Anniversary, set on a mountaintop in freaking Peru, she managed to get by with only her sky blue tank top and skimpy brown shorts. And there were dinosaurs, there are always dinosaurs.
They should a Japanese company create the figure then we can get some better poses and more provocative clothing.
i want tits.

She's all covered up, and why does she have a freaking sword in her hand? What's the deal. It's so cheesy.
She looks like an emo boy.
@Schoolimangooli: That would be Excalibur.
Her coat looks like it's made out of cheap-ass felt.
Surprisingly, this is a Lara Croft that I might actually enjoy playing.. the old Lara, well I enjoyed breaking her neck with dive jumps from high places with the assistance of gravity and hard surfaces. I usually do that when I get a hold of Tomb Raider game.. never played those thing through.
I'm curious as to whether there's ever been a Kotaku article with a picture of a woman (real or not) where nobody has said she looks male.
My gut says there hasn't.
@Plsk1n:
Seek psychological help, sir.
Oh no... feminist have gotten a hold of Lura!! Now she has respect for herself and can carry a conversation :( *cries*
The only possible outcome that I can draw from this is: LARA CRAFT IS GOING TO GO TO THE ARCTIC FOR THE NEXT GAME!
@Plsk1n: You're not alone. Oh man, Laura loved to die in
her mansion.
What I want to know is where she got that blade, I never saw any alien weapons in the first three games.
@frostcircus: only this one :P [kotaku.com]
Anyone think this looks like Saavik from the Wrath of KHAAAANNNN!!!!
I still love Lara, but her face in the new game is looking all caveman-y.
@Cat-Duck: Yes. Yes they do.
Does Lara holding that sword like a cane make her look like she's around 80 yrs old to anyone else?
@Superstar90 UNLEASHED: she did in TR Legeng
@ggodo: That's the Excalibur from Legend
No boobs no buy.
After seeing so many figures for anime/games that are basically porn, I have to applaud them for being so... sane.
Dare to be different.
Ok, for that to be Lara Croft she looks pretty damn flat.
It's like Tom Selleck with no mustache... It's just not right.
haha thats actually a pretty neat figurine!
If you showed those pics without saying who it was supposed to be, you might get a few people to guess that it was supposed to be Lara, but there's really nothing identifiable about it, and I'm not just referring to the (lack of) breasts.
Oh, and the 80s called. They want their moon boots back.
@YUYU:
Yes, I know she supposed to be English but serious, not all English women look like that, some are prettier ...
Am I the only one who read "Nice Boobs" in the last line? Oh my ;)
On the other hand: I quite like the way Lara is progressing. In Tomb Raider Underworld Crystal Dynamics finally seem to have given her a beliveable body.
Would've wanted a non posable figurine. Ones with articulation tend to not look all that good. Casted PVC FTW!
Tina Fey? Is that you?
Watch this not sell. Taking the skimpy from Lara Croft is like taking the shields from Master Chief, the chainsaw from Marcus Fenix, the overalls from Mario, the garish shoes from sonic, the...you get it.
@Mort: you mean naked anime girl statues ftw? Yeah, we know. We know ALL about you.
Needs some CAST-OFF pictures.
Kidding aside, isn't the head a bit disproportionate to the rest of the body? Something about this one looks off.
The Croft doll in Grandma's Boy was WAAYYY hotter!
This is the first time I've seem Lara Croft looking like a woman who could actually kick as much ass she does.
It would be cool of they went this version in a game, instead of the improbable sex kitten with back problems, and put her in a good game for once.
More curious about the interchangable parts. Wonder if they are compatible with Cy-Girls or Perfect Body figures (whom I plan to dress all in Cobra Trooper garb!).
I'm pretty sure the clothes can be taken off.
She looks too much like Angelina Jolie.
Did they change her design to match Angie's looks?
According to my theory, its possible to calculate the percentage of woman in a dev's house by dividing the cup size of the female character by 0.05.
What the Hell? Why's she wearing clothes?!
@Punishingwombat:
Yep was about to say about same thing
Dear commenters:
Play Tomb Raider: Legend or Tomb Raider: Anniversary. Please.
The new games are awesome. If you like action-adventure games, play them. Especially if you're saying that this a Lara Croft you're interested in playing. They did an amazing job fixing the series after that Angel of Darkness shit.
BTW: She still has boobs. In the games, at least.
Looks like something out of Robot Chicken.
