We're smack dab in the middle of the Call of Duty 4 Live Fire weekend, where Xbox 360 COD4 players have a chance to win prizes, play with devs, challenge girls, or maybe even learn a thing or two. Kicking things off are hourly prizes, in which everyone who plays a multiplayer match of COD4 online are entered, meaning your odds pretty much suck. They get worse for the Grand Prize - an Xbox 360 Elite console, VIP Accessories kit, and various bits of Call of Duty 4 merchandise. For those of you not into games of chance, Infinity Ward game devs will be on hand tonight from 6-9 Eastern to challenge all comers. The tomorrow night from 9-11 Eastern you can choose to challenge the girls of the Xbox Gamerchix, or possibly three-time UFC lightweight champion Jens Pulver. Finally Sunday is for newbies, with many of the Xbox Ambassadors available to help you learn the ropes, or just suck less. Hit up the link for more info on the Call Of Duty 4 Live Fire Weekend.

I know what I'll be doing this weekend.
Sounds like a Kotaku COD4 weekend! Let's play some games together, mmmmkay? :)
(And school the newbs on Sunday!)
so not only is COD4's online broken(for me at least, since i now live in an overseas military base in italy), i can't even get a chance to see this on the PS3. I can play just about any other game online, even ps2 games, since nearly all of them contain servers which contain PING, which lets me know, "hey! that room is lagging, join this one instead, it has a lower ping!
This is pretty sweet. I'm in.
See you guys on the new maps.
This is so badly timed...
So much homework. So much...
You'd think after all that talk about IW being extremely pleased with the massive amounts of PS3 players of COD4 out there, they'd throw us a fricking bone. Everything comes later for us, or not at all. :(
Nothing for us PC gamers either. Bullsh**!
Ah well, we'll get the new maps for free anyways.
I always think its hilarious when they offer Xbox consoles as the prizes in these kind of competition, since if you are online playing the Xbox version, odds are you already have a 360. Not exactly the most exciting prize, but I hardly think they'd be offering PS3s.
But will be taking part in this, if only because I am in the latter stages of CoD addiction.
this is the second xbox contest on the xbox that lets you win an xbox.
It's kind of like me living in Hawaii and entering a contest to win a free trip to Hawaii.
I know it's all my choice to enter these contests, and a 360 could make a great gift or replacement to those who have gone through the RROD(s) and have the feeling it'll come again because of the sound it makes when it plays a game like the one on the entertainment center in my living room.
The added cod bonuses are a plus.
They are doing this for the Xbox and talking to Sony to do some stuff next week or so for the PS3 maps.No idea for the PC guys..you guys probably get free maps though.
Playing this game on XBOX Live is a very good reason why we should be alive.
I hate being in the UK, It stops me from entering the contest :(
@johnny_ultimate: I want an elite I has a stupid ass wussy Pro or w/e with only 20 gigs.
<3 it though
I've registered and I'm ready to roll. I'ma' win me an elite!
(ppftttttttttttt!!!)
Ugh and I got my free Halo 3 maps code today. Damn it!
@enewtabie:
We get proper mods to. sucks to be a console owner. ;)
@mondog: Actually, it's pretty good to be a console owner.
@mondog: Sucks to be a ignorant.
@mondog: Oops I meant sucks to be ignorant. Me basically F*ck you.
@JoRo1986: Actually this was probably arranged by LIVE, they do stuff like this quite regularly. Their game with fame thing.
... why just on the 360? Sure, it's the most popular console, but what the FUCK about the PS3 and PC?!
@eskimo-bob: Because its probably organised by the Xbox team, why would they do it for the PC version and the PS3?
The devs aren't biased, i'm pretty sure if Sony said, "look we want to have a weekend where we give away prizes and let gamers play the you the devs" IW wouldn't say no.
So yeah, look towards Sony if you want stuff like this.
