Now here's a car engine that is sure to provide hours of family fun entertainment! Kotakuite Zooie sends us this photo of a Toyota that reflects the owner's driving love of the original NES.
Big fan of this site. One of my employees brought us out to his car to show us what he created under the hood. I laughed so hard. He loves the original NES and wanted to make a tribute under his hood. Whatever excites him. I wanted to share this with everyone.Well done, though why hide it under that unwiedy hood? Take that sucker off and share your love with the world! Hit the jump for a closer look, and a lesson why you really need to clean the bird poop off your windshield on a regular basis.

Ahahaha! That's Awesome!
Nice... very nice
win
Now you're playing with power!
Nintendo HorsePower!
That is cool, but wont it get full of grease and start to loose its great appearance. If I had that I would never want to drive it again haha.
now he just needs a Rob the robot to drive it
:)
@liquid_kore:
regular maintenance, which this guy clearly does, should keep it looking fresh.
So will you get 30 cars with the Konami code? :)
now your driving with power
Wait for it...wait for it...
Now you're playing with power!
How long will it take for that joke to be run into the ground?
Why??
LOL at cold air intake on a corolla
valve cover looks pretty cool though
Do you have to blow into the car every morning to make it start?
@Spoony Bard: ha! or wiggle the key in the ignition for 10-15 min!
That's one hardcore man.
Haha, now all you need is for the controller to work with the car and a midget to hide under the hood ...
Better than a tattoo.
@niall077: @Quilt: Sorry. Maybe you'll have your chance to make AWESOME jokes in a later time. until then, watch as I enjoy being the first to say the joke :)
"...reflects the owner's driving love..."
truly awesome
Yeah, that's cool and all, but here's the big question:
Can you play games on it?
Engine mod, really? It's called Tuning ;]
Just messing with you.
Looks good though.
Hopefully he adds a push button ignition that he has to press several times before his gauges even turn on.
where the start select button and it does look a little like its uperimposed on there because of shadows, or lack there of, but still pretty cool
I'd like to see an average-joe-type mechanic's expression when he pops the hood and sees the engine is just a big NES controller.
It's sort of like seeing a pilot's expression when they see that their plane is painted like a fish. (Alaska Airlines, hell yes!)
The horn needs to be the opening notes of Super Mario Brothers.
It's a neat idea, but I wouldn't think many people would see it unless you're just really eager to show it off.
@zaxour: Every little bit helps, plus it's better for the engine.
But that's an awesome idea for a valve cover. I'd expect to see the car dressed up as a yellow pikachu or something though. Not that deep maroon color.
That is FOOKING awesome!!!
up up down down left right left right b a select start!
that is retarded, retardedly cool!
Unique idea completely, but not at all hard to reproduce if you had the time. Buy some engine spray paint, make some stencils, and have at it.
I like the idea for the horn!
I'd love to see a custom starter setup. Something like... you have to put a Rad Racer cartridge in a slot in the dash before it'll turn on. Oh, and a real 'start' button too - on a controller in the car!
Okay - I need to stop thinking about this before I butcher my golf.
LOL that is the greatest engine design I have ever seen. Captain N would be so proud *tear*
I LOVE it! Tons of WIN here!
Nintendo Power... wait wasn't that the magazine?
That's actually a pretty good idea.
Hopefully he followed suit and has some Nintendo system hooked up in the trunk or glove compartment. =P
win indeed.
but it's a bit much.
o_O WTF!
@liquid_kore: It would, but some of actually clean our engine bays when we wash our cars. Mind you you can't just go in there with a hose and go nuts, but you can clean and detail your engine bay. It's actually good for it.
