Haha, love the title.
Mrowl? Dude there is something wrong with your cat.
i heart legos
Those graphics are really really good. I hope this doesn't make me beat this one as much as the star wards games made me beat them.
Yes! Finally, a Lego game that lets you beat up Matthew Lesko!
;p
Fahey doesn't like The Riddler? I'm starting to trust his judgement less and less.
Yes, many might disagree; but I thought Batman Forever was a good movie. All I know is that Jim Carrey did save that movie.
@Redface, The Dark Messiah of Justice:
I believe that was a joke.
QUESTION = RIDDLE
Teehee? Haha?
@Fyren:
( Sorry for the double post, have to say this D: )
Yeah, but he played the Riddler like he was The Joker.
Riddler is calm, collected, and not LOL RIDDLE ME THIS, BATMAANZ!!11
@Redface, The Dark Messiah of Justice: Where did you get that idea?
@Fyren: BLASPHEMER!
Still haven't seen Nightwing.
Still unhappy about that.
This game cries out for a shit-ton of various costumes from throughout the different eras.
Also, it would be nice to have Azrael or at least the Jean Paul Valley Batman suit.
My first thought was...ugg don't tell me they included the Mad Hatter.
But you have to tell the law about your crimes before you commit them! How else are you supposed to prove to them how much smarter than them you are? Just ask Arsène Lupin!
The Riddler isn't a criminal anymore.
He's a detective for-hire.
Doesn't anyone read Detective Comics?
@Fyren: That's the pre-Begins post-Adam West one I liked.
@Terance: Tell the fat lady she's on in five! Joygasm! Like the jacket? It keeps me safe when I'm... jogging at night! DON'T! Don't kill him. If you kill him, he won't learn nothin'! Batman? Batman, you say? Coming for you? I'm... COUNTING ON IT!
@jMonken: Comics you say. Who does read those anymore? I get all my Batman from movies and cartoons. The Riddler was always a grafty fellow. He seem to be a gymnast or a dancer those moves are so slinky.
@Lackshmana: Azreal would be a awesome addition. Nightwing with his supermullet would be good too.
With every screen shot, posted my lust for this game grows. I am just thankfull that there are enough games that come out before this on to keep me busy.
where's his hat?
@jMonken: Yeah but I think this is a game that doesn't delve too deep into the current batman comic story and stays more in line with the tv series.
@Fyren: Sup Fyren, Yeah I agree I liked the movie back then but I tried to watch it a couple of weeks ago and I didn't see why. lol Some movies stand the test of time and I guess some don't. But you make a good point.
The Riddler is in fact kind of awesome and its because, in his own way, he is just as completely mental as the Joker. Like you said, he could have beaten Batman dozens of times, but because of his deep-seated pathology he has to give Batman clues on how to beat him. Jim Carey's horrible turn in that awful film aside, he is pretty interesting in his more recent comic appearances.
I love the page in Kingdom Come where Luthor's coalition is meeting and The Riddler is naming them off...something so creepy/funny about him as an old man in that scene.
Oh and yes, I'm all over this game :)
damn, now i have an urge to watch "if you're so smart, why aren't you rich?"
@Fyren: It was only a good movie by comparison to Batman and Robin, IMO.
Val Kilmer was a good Batman though, its not his fault he had subpar villains and a crappy Robin in that movie. :)
I'm waiting for Harley Quinn or at least Poison Ivy before I really get excited. Wonder if they'd add oddballs like Tempus Fugit in there...
@MelodyKitn: Harley Quinn, you say...?
[kotaku.com]
BANE!!! Me wants! I, also, highly anticipate crippled wheelchair batman. AWESOME! =P
@DaiMacculate: I thought Kilmer was terrible as Batman. He sounded constipated the whole movie. Bale was great, but I'll always have a soft spot for Keaton as Batman.
IS THIS GAME COMING OUT ON THE PSP ALSO?
@RonMaverick: [en.wikipedia.org]
IT APPEARS SO MATE WOT WOT TOTALLY AWESOME CAPS LOCK YOU GOT THERE CHUM!
...
Yes, it is.
@wef: Hmm...I find the graphics to be a tad blocky.
Riddler is such an underrated villain from Batsy's Rogue Gallery. Gah.
What I find hilarious is Catwoman's body graphic. She's got the usual lego torso, but then on the torso are like... womanly curves drawn on the front like it were a tshirt. Amusing!
Man, as much as I love Legos and Star Wars, I really didn't care for the first Lego Star Wars demo. The Batman/Indy games probably look crappy because of that bad first impression.
Maybe I should get the Lego SW games and give it another chance.
It's not the Question? Awww...
Minifigs you should expect to see in this game, based on the fact that they all exist (or will with the next wave of sets) in true LEGO minifig form:
At least one Batman (the fourth different outfit is due out this summer)
Robin
Nightwing
Bruce Wayne (might not be playable, but he'll probably still appear)
Alfred (again, might not be playable, but he'll probably still appear)
Joker
Catwoman
Scarecrow
Penguin
Two-Face
Riddler
Mr. Freeze
Poison Ivy
Killer Croc
Harley Quinn
Bane
Characters who really need to be added, but don't yet exist as minifigs:
Any of the three Batman outfits that _haven't_ appeared in screencaps so far (being the Golden Age blue outfit, the Burton/Keaton outfit, and the Nolan/Bale outfit)
Batgirl
Gordon
Bullock
Montoya
Red Hood
Firefly
Clayface
Manbat
I haven't seen Two Face, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy and Bane in any of the trailers but I hope they are included in the final game.
@Purple Dave: I'd be surprised if they made a Batman Lego game without every single character.
In the Indy Lego, they had to somehow scrape together 60+ playable characters.
Very Punny Fahey. I have to admit that joke took me a few seconds....
Can I just go ahead and have this game now, please?
@mcderek3000: Well, every character they have released or intend to release as a minifig, at least. I very much doubt they'll go so far as to scrape the bottom of the Batman Rogues Barrel to pull out the likes of The General and Baby Doll. Then again, they don't really need to. Batman can walk in with more A-list villains than many other superheroes can bring in total. Heck, this summer will see the first repeat of a Batman villain in six movies across nearly 20 years, while Superman has had to deal with Lex Luthor in 3/5 of his movies over the last 30, and they even shoe-horned him into Smallville just because he's the only stock Superman villain that has any serious name recognition.
Now, the one thing I do have to wonder about is the four Batman outfits. All we've seen so far is the black/grey outfit from the first wave of sets (which looks sorta like his Justice League/Unlimited appearance). If they do include all four stock outfits, I'll probably lean more towards the Nolan/Bale look on the basis that they probably won't let me play my Frank Miller Batman: [www.brickshelf.com]
Though if they do include both the black/grey and blue/grey outfits, I suppose it'd be possible to hack the skins to create both the Frank Miller and the Jim Lee looks...
@fltranz:
No, you have to wait until friggen' September like the rest of us. In the meantime, LEGO Indy is due out June 3. That should be plenty of time to beat both the PC/Console version and the DS rebuild.
