Many of you called yesterday's screenshots of Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm for the PlayStation 3 bullshots, but after seeing this video I am not so sure. Hell, bullshots or not, this is one damn fine looking Naruto game. Gave me chills just looking at it, and I'm not even that big a fan of the series. The end of the video teases with, "For the first time, the line between the Naruto TV animation and gaming will truly disappear", along with the official website for the game, which is now just another damn countdown clock, reading just 16 hours to go before...what? God I hate countdown clocks. At least this might explain why the screens were pulled from PlayStation.com. Just a bit too early.
I must admit, i was amongst the disbelievers when i initially saw the screens, but this looks like it's going to be one darn fine looking game. There's something magical about seeing the style of 2D animation represented in a 3D plane like this, these must be amongst the first truly 'next-gen' visuals i've seen in a game.
@IntelSilver: Geewillickers... and lemme throw in a Jinkies.
But yeah. Shit looks nice. Pretty, even. I don't really like Naruto fighting games because they were too simple to be a indepth fighter and not Simply Fun enough to be something more.
@LandMineLandSnake: When will they learn to spend less money on filler and more on the actual story bits. That way we'll get better animation hehe. But seriously, it *is* a rather sad day for the animated version...
Wow.I'm 32 and know nothing about Naruto save that it does indeed exist. This is a sweet trailer though and if the game comes together I'll buy on day one.Rick Hunter in a Veritech would totally wail on Naruto though.
now hopefully they'll quickly make multiple iterations of this one and get up to speed with the manga... which prolly won't be well after the series is finished (le sigh).
the graphics look really nice though. would like to see a couple more games with this kind of style.
@BlackDove: I see what you are sayign as far as comparable graphics go. I just see the dust coming up as little bit better on the ::GASP:: PS Triple. Almost makes em want to go get a PS3 now...Almost.
Geez, it's pretty sad when a video game looks 10x better than the anime it comes from. And I thought the DBZ games looked pretty good....this puts them all to shame
Same here, no idea what or who Naruto is. One thing I can say though, that looked frickin' amazing. Looks like they've worked out how to use the cell - maybe Sony weren't bullshitting.
Games will only look better and better given more time. With techniques like cell shading, they get better in iterations... You compare this to Valkyrie Profile and you see that's the case. A year from now we will be talking about how shitty this looks compared to the next thing. I'm happy to see these techs being realized with such richness. Here's to hoping that more things on all platforms will start to experiment with pixel shaders more.
That looks stunning. Hopefully they'll develop a control scheme that makes pulling off those dodges and moves feel equally as fluid. First Street Fighter IV, Soul Caliber IV, now this. So many good looking fighting games coming out. I haven't played a fighting game since VFIV came out so I'm past overdue for one.
Most talkative ninjas ever... BELIEVE IT!
Normally this is where I'd start saying how superior pirates are, but, given that the alternative to Naruto is One Piece, I think I'll pass.
Wow. That looks really good. Looks better than the actual anime. But I wish they would make something else besides a Naruto fighting game. But I guess a fighting game is an obvious choice. Just like how there's no good Dragon Ball game that's NOT a fighting game.
Wow that is very impressive. I hope the gameplay stacks up too. Remember boys and girls that a 100,000 sports car that drives like a 1,000 used P.O.S is still crap.
They seem to have the animation and graphics right. Now to find out about the rest.
@djHEAT: WAS. Pre 128 and Early Shipuuden... It's gotten so slow. (Not Going to comment on the Localized American mess, although voice acting and lines are getting better post WE HATE BELIEVE IT)
@okenny :): I agree, as it stands right now this is the best, even better than Valkyrie Profile (Which looked pretty good to begin with), and this coming from someone who doesn't like Naruto, but the sheer beauty of it might actually... you know... make me buy it.
@Sabastian_Chadwick_McGirt: and so the descent into madness begin. I'm bowing out of this argument early :) Good luck to who ever wants to repeat themselves for the next 200+ posts :(

People say it looks better than that Xbawks cel shaded game as well, but I look at both em trailers and I see almost the same quality.
Too much radiation on my eyes from staring at the monitor since age 6 I guess.
HOLY CRAP BATMAN
This has more detail than the anime :O

Looks really nice.
I'm a little confused as to why they haven't moved onto Shippuuden though. I'm assuming that's not aired in the US yet?
Don't see why they'd pull the screens, some of them were already in gameinformer.
Anyway. It looks great, but the line's still clearly there. The motions are smooth, but they feel somewhat empty to gaze upon.
OOOOOOOH MY GOD.... now THATS cell shaded, fucking done right, I can't believe how smooth everything looks...
Sweet jeebus! I couldn't give two craps about Naruto but that is some damn fine work, now if they can only use it on a better show. Hah!
Whoa.... That's amazing.
@Morpork: Though I hate to say I know this: no, they're not. They're still on that Ranmaru nonsense.
It was a moment of weakness on Saturday, killing time until Samurai Jack.
This looks friggin crazy! I'm only a passing Naruto fan, but I am going to buy this game so hard. The animations look so fluid.
Let's get a one piece game done like this on PS3 now.
I'm fucking serious. DO IT.
Holy shit, those were all in-game gameplay. Someone in the other thread said they'd buy a PS3 if that was the case, they better keep to their word :P
I haven't even seen Naruto, but this looks great.
@IntelSilver: Geewillickers... and lemme throw in a Jinkies.

Looking great when is the release date?
@LandMineLandSnake: When will they learn to spend less money on filler and more on the actual story bits. That way we'll get better animation hehe. But seriously, it *is* a rather sad day for the animated version...
Boy I've said it before, please don't let me down you little egotistic ninja.
Watching it a second time,I'm seriously blown away here
@ph15h needs followers: oops... didn't wanna sound evil. *adds in* but i'll check this one out if there's a demo.
Impressive indeed.
Certainly comparisons with the Ubisoft title will rightfully come up. I'll place my vote that this new title is a marked improvement.
I want to see a Bleach game done like this. My head would asplode if something like that came down the pipe.
@BlackDove: dude! It looks better then the year old 360 version... why wouldn't it? If you can't see that then something is seriously wrong!
Yes, now you must truly Bu-lieve it! :P

Ill definitely have to keep track of this game. It looks amazing!
Bullclip... Aw, who am I kidding, it looks great.
How it plays is a different matter.
@coktoe:

Pretty impressive. I hope the gameplay holds up, the last few reincarnation was just blargh.

I think all of them were real, just some of them could have actually been from an illustrated cut-scene.
Damn! Those fight scenes look as good (if not better) than the ones in the show.
@CallMeRotten:
Naruto IS a great show, what do you want?

This is the best anime-to-3d I've seen yet. I may just have to get this for the eye candy.
Wow. That looks really good. Looks better than the actual anime. But I wish they would make something else besides a Naruto fighting game. But I guess a fighting game is an obvious choice. Just like how there's no good Dragon Ball game that's NOT a fighting game.
If only they could make a Dragonball game look this good. I'd seriously buy a PS3 just for a Dragonball game that looked that flawless.
THIS!!! This is how Street Fighter 4 should have looked!
Damn you Capcom!!!
@Psudonym:
I just got done comparing this trailer to the E3 07 trailer for Rise of a Ninja on 360.
Ultimate Ninja Storm utterly destroys Rise of a Ninja.
Wow that is very impressive. I hope the gameplay stacks up too. Remember boys and girls that a 100,000 sports car that drives like a 1,000 used P.O.S is still crap.
They seem to have the animation and graphics right. Now to find out about the rest.
I think the countdown is to the next episode of Naruto:Shippuuden, or Naruto:Shippuden dvd movie release in Japan. Ha ha, both would be pretty cool.
Wow. I'm lucky I can still comment with a foot in my mouth, but I guess I'm unlucky to have to put my foot there in the first place.
@djHEAT: WAS. Pre 128 and Early Shipuuden... It's gotten so slow. (Not Going to comment on the Localized American mess, although voice acting and lines are getting better post WE HATE BELIEVE IT)
Stop making Naruto games.
Gurren Lagann instead! kthnxbye
It seriously looks like an anime cartoon, unbelievable. I'm not a fan of Naruto so I probably won't buy this game...but I am intrigued nonetheless.
@okenny :): I agree, as it stands right now this is the best, even better than Valkyrie Profile (Which looked pretty good to begin with), and this coming from someone who doesn't like Naruto, but the sheer beauty of it might actually... you know... make me buy it.
Why the shit is this technology being used for a Naruto game instead of SFIV?
(No offense to Naruto fans)

looks like DBZ:Burst limit has some graphical competition for best anime cell shading graphics
