While I wasn't looking, PlayStation.com updated their site with a listing for Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, the first entry in the series for the PlayStation 3. Sneaky ninja. The game boasts cinema-quality cell-shaded graphics of a likes when have never seen, and if the screenshots are any indication the might be right. Ultimate Ninja Storm also features an all-new mission-based adventure mode, featuring over 100 missions to complete, along with 25 fully transformable fighters at your fingertips. Personally I wish Namco Bandai had let Ubisoft take the amazing work they did on the Xbox 360 a bit further, but I suppose it's better than not getting any Naruto at all.

Yes, get to replay the same part of the storyline for the 25th time now!
Its kind of tough to wonder what is actual gameplay and what isn't. And i've seen that fifth picture so many times already, but the other pictures are completely new.
If those are cel-shaded graphics then I'd buy a PS3 just to see them in action.
I don't like Naruto, but this game looks good on its own.
Too bad it's Naruto.
@Kyle81: yes, but it's soooooooooo pretty. So damn pretty.
Are those screens of the anime or the game?? Cause the motion effect on his foot kicking the guy looks too drawn by hand.
Hmmm... are those really, REALLY in-game pictures?
Because... hell! Looks superb!
Barely can recall Eternal Sonata.
great, now where's beautiful katamari?
Holy crap. This looks really good graphics wise. I mean, DAMN, IT LOOKS LIKE THE FREAKING ANIME.
I'd love the ubisoft version with new playable characters in the story mode. I'd way rather play Rock Lee in story mode than Naruto.
Yow, those graphics are hot. The cel shading is very well done - it almost looks like a screenshot of the anime.
Holy crap, those are some amazing looking shots. I remember seeing a wee clip of this from a show in Japan (cell phone camera, terrible quality) but the action looked really fluid. Nice to see these screen grabs. Now if I can see a clip in HD, I'll be able to contain my drool no more!
That does look pretty incredible. I'd like to see it in motion.
Wow, I hate Naruto and pretty much everything about the show...but wow. They pulled off some very impressive visuals with this one. Looks almost identical to the show.
I never thought I would give two craps about a Naruto game, but this looks really, really fluid.
Capcom, wanna make me an Auto Modelista 2 with this level of graphics (among other improvements), I'll buy it day 1 ;)
The Ubisoft title on the 360 was wholly enjoyable, though it would have been far more so with more playable characters in multiplayer.
It'll be interesting to see how that plays out in this PS3 rendition of, as was mentioned above, the same part of the story for the umpteenth time.
My God. This makes the DBZ Burst Limit game look like garbage.
There is no way those are in-game screenshots. I'm guessing they are from cutscenes.
PS.com is the hotness!
@Jnas: I was thinking that exact thought.
Bleach > Naruto
Anyways I personally don't enjoy any type of Naruto game. The one Ubisoft made was ok at best, but everything else. Bleh!
I think mostly would have be the HORRIBLE dubbing - Fucking BELIEVE it.
I saw these a few days ago on Neo Gaf. There was a general suspiciousness about whether they were real or not.
Personally, I call bullshot on this until I see actual in game video,
If this is real then they can just stop. Cel shading is over, its better than actual cel animation and we can all go home.
That's the question one has to ask themselves now doesn't it. Are those actually in game screenshots, or are they doctored shots. Because I have yet to see any actual professional CG Animation using cell shading that would look remotely as good as this. And we're talking CG Animation, as in not in realtime. So if those are realtime cell shading, then they just got the whole CG Movie makers beat, even though those are made with powerhouse computers and not consoles ;)

Oh, well here you go! Video from the Jump Festa
I love it how they accurately recreate the slight colour/draw style difference between the background and the characters.
If the game indeed looks like this in motion... wow there are a lot of anime shows I'd love to see get this treatment.
This is gameplay? If so that's amazing.
That vid I posted was a concept build from last year, so I'd imagine they've come a long way since then.
@TitillatedOcelot: are you kidding me!?
WOW
Sweet fancy moses, that is some fantastic cel shading.
@TitillatedOcelot:
Well, you proved alot thing with this video... and like everyone else above me... WOW. just... allright, maybe I'll buy a PS3 instead of the 360 now...
@TitillatedOcelot: Sweet mother of Samba De Amigo!
@Astrofox: @Kanik: @Zulmokhan: Yeah, I was excited when I saw it, and I'm pleased to see those images. I think is going to blow the Ubisoft Naruto game for the 360 out of the water, and that's saying something.
@TitillatedOcelot: The video only shows low res versions of two of those screens.
The three impressive pics are the neji, kakashi, and sasuke shots.
It still looks like really nice cutscenes no doubt about it, but I think a high res video showing those actual shots is what is gonna prove this for me.
@TitillatedOcelot: That's ridiculous. It looks just like the series. Here's hoping for a 360 version...
@Lackshmana: Agreed. C'mon CyberConnect! Make with the vids!
Screw this game, i just want them to license out the engine.
If they can really pull of cell shaded animation like this now, I really hope they start using it more often. We desperately need another style of game animation to contrast all the hyper-realistic styles used in pretty much everything now.
I'm all for making games look less like real life and more like artwork. And these screens are HOT!
A wonderful display. But yes, I too am getting tired of Naruto Games dealing with the exact same arc of the story. A lot of stuff has happened since then. Hell, make the voice acting all in japanese and just catch up to the manga with these graphics already. Maybe then I will actually buy a Naruto game.
Great! Now let's see some non-Naruto games with these kinds of graphics.
@fulgore66: Bandai/Namco is also doing another all cel shaded game in Tales of Vesperia. And prior to seeing these shots I thought it had the best cel shaded graphics I had ever seen.
I hope whatever engine this game is running on is also being used for ToV.
I'm kind of amazed, if that is gameplay screens we're looking at (Bullshots, anyone?). All the other Naruto games looked chunky and awkward, but this looks like you're playing the series.
Not buying it, but it looks great.
It's just hand drawn target renders guys. Look at the collar of Naruto, it changes shape every picture. The Zipper changes size too.
Looks great. I'm a big fan of cel shaded games, and I wished more would come out with this level of quality.
@TitillatedOcelot:
See, that's what we call FGF or Fake Game Footage if you prefer, but certainly a good looking one. It is a CGI video made to show to eventual publisher/deicison makers what the game should eventually looks like, but those rarely (maybe even never) run on the actual engine.
I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled it off, but I don't believe that this is actual gameplay.
As for the screenshots, they reek of PhotoShop from miles away. Still, I bet it is going to be a very good looking game in the end.
Those images are pretty old...
Here's the teaser trailer from Jump Festa.

So just to ask - is this yet another Naruto fighting game - or is this more like "Naruto: Rise of the Ninja", which from the Gametrailers review led me to believe it was something like GTA meets Naruto (run around, do missions, run around).
If its basically that game just redone for the PS3, I might get it. I'm not a Naruto fan, but the game itself based on the reviews looked interesting.
Whoops...already posted :)
i want a naruto shippuuden misssion based game with this graphics.,..
fuck the first arc and get me some of the new arcs!
older naruto rocks =)
the manga is almos 2 arcs ahead of the anime right now, and they are doing FILLERS for the anime...
god dammit kishimoto i hate you
I've been staring at these all morning, and I'm still not sure whether or not some of this isn't hand-drawn. The close-up of Naruto in Konawa (Second) and the one where he's fighting Neji (First), where you can see the ruffles in Naruto's collar, are hard to believe. Only time will tell.
I agree with most of you, I'm not to excited about a new Naruto game, and instead I'm just excited about the visuals on display here. Here's hoping they're not all bull! And that they make a One Piece game that looks like this.
@vinchbr: Yeah man, what is up with that? You'd think 80+ chapters would be enough of a buffer.
Nice. I've wanted to check this one out for a while - it looks like they did a great job on it.
There's a Japanese voice pack download on 360 right? Hopefully it comes with this one.
If Naruto looks this good on the PS3, imagine how a game like Okami would look.
