We're not sure if this is adorable or cruel! Kotaku commenter Purple-Penguin writes:
My son is dressed as a plane, a radio controlled plane, or you can look at it as I made a plane out of my son.
Here's what's going on: Dress up as an airplane or make a three dimensional airplane out of anything tangible, but paper. So you can't make CGI planes! And you can't draw them either! But, you can make them out of anything else as long as it's not paper. Rocks, clay, toothpicks, whatever! And remember, that means make and not build a plastic plane model you bought in the store. Send entries to kotakucontestATgmailDOTcom and, like all contests, don't forget to add a "Kotaku" sign. Remember, we're giving away two copies of Ace Comabt 6 and INTERNET FAME. One copy for the best plane cosplay, the other for the best crafted plane.
Hit the jump for reader Adam's plane, which he based off the Wright Flyer and made entirely out of Q-tips!

That poor kid does NOT look pleased.
The one with the controller, however....
That's a tad... um...
I really can't think of anything to say...
water bottle. pretty funny kids. I wonder can they fly.
:lol
dude, plane made out of kid is awesome!
the kid looks pissed though :lol
Hmmmmmm....
Well, I hope you're taking the kid to Dairy Queen afterwards.
what kind of red necks read kotaku lol.
I need to re-submit my lamp plane correctly.
Like, actually e-mail it and take a picture with the "Kotaku plane contest" business...
The Q-tip one is excellent! I would not have the patience to make that. Good job!
Finally someone has realized the full potential of children.
That kid could easily take the Red Baron on.
Nowhere in this article is Ace Combat 6 mentioned except in the related articles. :P
When's the deadline for this contest?
Haha that's awesome. The dad probably offered him a lifetime of candy or something.
@Actaeus:
Hrm... Maybe Thursday?
Kind of like how Bash made a post out of an ace combat advertisement!
Good stuff!
The Q-tip one deserves lots of recognition. That would of taken a long time to make.
The kid in the plane doesn't look amused but the kid controlling it, he looks overjoyed.
Awesome entries!
Although the mouth on the plane kid is freaking me out haha
@kylo4:
She.
That....is.....stunning.
Where can one buy one of these plane-children?? All I can think of is the Spruce Moose.
"Come on and get in Smithers"
"Uhh...sir?"
"I said GET IN."
He was having a blast up until the time the propeller was placed above his head, after that he was a little weirded out and just stopped moving altogether. Before and after the picture was taken, while there was no propeller, he was running around and laughing.
They're both going to be very happy with seeing thier picture here.
That kid must've been promised some awesome video games/toys to be subjected to that creepy makeup.
"Just don't look in the mirror hun, you'll be fine, you won't need therapy, I swear. Think of it.. internet fame at your age, you'll have something to brag about to your date in the far future, especially if I..er, we win."
Hahaha this is the funniest bit of child abuse I've seen in a long while.
Can't wait to have kids.
I'm going to turn mine into a table....
@CitizenInsane27: wasn't it the "Spruce Goose"?
@Aflack: Likes slushies: Sorry about that (and to Purple-Penguin) Thanks for the correction. When looking at the picture I mainly focussed on the kid in the plane and then for half a second looked at the other kid. I thought I read a commenter say he so I said that. That's my long winded explanation.
Someone should tie the Q-tip one to a fan see if it flies.
abuse?
I am still trying to get the courage to have my girlfriend help me get dressed up as a plane of some sort. The kids face looks like it saying dad I hope this is worth it.
P.S.
Am I the only one that hates the weekend here at Kotaku.com no good stories to read or post on. Thank the heavens it's Monday. lol
@JorgieX: Eh, it's getting better now that Owen's around. At least this weekend wasn't COMPLETELY dead like some weekends have been in the past!
Poor kid looks like he's being sandwiched IN the plane... :)
Haha, at first I didn't even notice the kid in the plane.
Too early in the morning.
That's just plane cruel......
That's Nothing. My Grandfather has a Biplane made out of Beer cans. (Strange, as he didn't drink) Too bad I can't submit that. (Seeing as A), he's in New Jersey, and B), he's slightly more deceased then I would like.)
Wait so how long is the contest open? The original post said it ended April 11th.
@Stevedroid:
Ya, how long is this contest open because I would've obtained a digital camera and taken a picture of the plane I created and submitted it if I knew the deadline had been extended.
@Stevedroid: I just sent my pictures for de contest yesterday... :( Please someone tell me that the deadline has been extended, please !! *runs out of the room, crying*
@Brian Ashcraft: Alright, I'll get on it. Just need to decide on materials. >.<
Kidplane is pretty funny ...
