Since Street Fighter IV was announced, there's been a ton of reminiscing about Street Fighter II. And all of it's positive! How good it was, how great it was, how it brought your estranged parents back together, how it ended the war in Bosnia...all valid points, but you can't just remember the good. You need to get some perspective on the matter. Remember the bad. You need to remember this promo song for the SFII live-action movie, which features not only MC Hammer and Jean-Claude Van Damme, but true renaissance man Deion Sanders as well.

I'm sorry i could only endure one minute. THat was hard to watch but even harder to listen. :/... I think some things should stay lost in the past and this is one of them.
Whatever happened to Jean-Claude Van Damme...
Prime Time himself!
After watching that, I feel like I just rickrolled myself purposefully
I still really think that they should have HD'd third strike instead of SF2.
That brings back memories. I might have to go rent SF and show it to my gf. Here's to hoping I'm not single afterwards.
Apparently the eighties didn't end until around 1994.
MC Hammer = The best Rapper alive.
Now I feel stupid because I thought this video was the shit back in 1994
I wonder if they had this video in front of the RE5 trailer, before all the zombies attack, would N'Gai feel better about them all being killed?
J/K, but that was horrid :(
Aw, I remember that movie. Hilariously bad.
Yes...just...yes.
I really can't say anything about that video.... plus I had no idea they make a music video with the Street Fighter movie cast...
Aha! I knew this song wasn't original. And the sample game continues:
+ Watch video
Remember Vanilla Ice? Anyone?
+ Watch video
Can't Touch This (goes looking for hammer pants)... :( This video and the movie itself was a scar on the SF name.
@Erwin: My milestone for the end of the 80s was Pulp Fiction.
I'm gonna go ahead and throw this out there, y'know, see what it does for people... see how it plays...
+ Watch video
@Antihippy:
me too, but remember, SFIII still looks good. (so good that I don´t know if I would prefer a remake over the original, me <3 good pixelart, so why do it in highrez)
And SFII never did looked good AND it´s considered the most important (and classic) SF, despite SFIII being better in any other way than SFII, it wasn´t a sucess as it should had been.
WHERE ARE THE PANTS? Anyone remember that chick from attack of the show calling MC Hammer "McHammer"
@ph15h: Van Damme became the poor mans Van Damme. He needs to do what Clint Eastwood did and go from being in cheesy action flicks to directing some of the greatest movies of our generation. How is completely beyond me, but if he survived Street Fighter the movie, Im sure he could do it :P
@MisterSleep: Dear god, I love that clip! Does that answer that? That was great.
@Video: Well, we've been trying to forget. I want to slap that head-bobbing idiot because I know that will be stuck in my head for the next two days.
(go ninja, go ninja, go ninja go... crap)
Never saw the movie (you couldn't pay me even back then) though I was a big fan of the game.
As for this vid/song, for some reason I NEVER saw/heard this until last year. I was expecting to cringe but ........ I actually ended up shocked that it was a catchy tune (likely due to the sample, of course). Not great, but I still imagine it was the best thing to come from this entire movie debacle (remember the movie game??? *shudder*
I like that song.
@Erwin: (go ninja, go ninja, go ninja go... crap)
LOL!!!!
JEan is making a come back!

I remember this video... makes me want to bust out my copy of the movie and watch it again. I own a copy of SF the Movie The Novel too. Based on the original screenplay. Must've read it at least 20 times.
If it makes anyone feel better after watching this, rumour has it all four original bosses from SFII are now back and featured in the current build of SFIV.
Heh.. I remember that, it's the 10 minutes before hammer lost his house and he thought he pretended to be 2-pac to give himself an edge(thus the headband).
This isn't his first silly movie soundtrack though... remember the Addams groove? (Much better imho, mainly because it's back in the parachute pants days).
Yeah but that was back when you were allowed to have smoke as a lighting effect in movies and everyone used it as a crutch as well as that blue lightning effect.
Oh well atleast it didn't have early 90's cgi
Oh, that was awful. Really. It hurt my ears.
Yes we all agree that the "music" is bad and the video is bad but tell me how is it any different from that shorty get low shit that's on the radio all the time?
@NitrousO: Clint Eastwood. Hmm... I don't think Van Damme can even fathom his level. Van Damme fell off for a longer amount of time and his movies were less plot based. Blood sport and SF. *shudder*
"Van Damme was the greatest martial artist of all time." - Uncle Ruckus. lol...
damn i remember how hot me and my buddies used to think this shit was.
...if only we knew the truth
PRIME TIME!PRIME TIME!
What I never understood was why Bison was holding shit ransom for 100 million Bison dollars. Didn't he invent that currency? Couldn't he just print more?
This movie is legendary as one of the worst video game movies of all time. And that's a pretty amazing feat. But unfortunately Mario Bros will always hold that throne.
(Note: I've never seen an Uwe Boll movie.)
@MisterSleep:
Look at them saigon hotties
Even when I was young and this first came out. . . I just knew it was something not quite right about this video. It was probably MC Hammer. After seeing this, you shouldn't be surprised he's degrading himself in commercials now.
LOL
i was reading MC Hammer as "MAC Hammer"...
it's YOUR fault, Olivia Munn!!!!
Let's just say that I'm glad I'm in an unlucid state of mind while watching this, b/c I can't stop laughing.
You know, all Capcom had to do was send Chris Redfield to this set and shoot Deion Sanders and his "Prime Time" crew, and all controversy would have been sweep aside...but no! Now the gaming community is a split, and poor Witzbold is stuck hammering away at the Ban Hammer instead of getting some much needed rest.
Thanks Capcom!
@dowingba: YOU BITE YOUR TONGUE.
If this movie ever comes out on Blu-Ray I'm buying three copies. And some of those adult diapers Fahey has for when I wet myself laughing.
Wow, that was bad.
@Funnydale: And buy sweep...I meant swept.
It seems that I just pulled a Deion...
Do I remember it? I had the soundtrack, and listened to it repeatedly! (cut me some slack, it was the early nineties :P) Holy flashback.
I'm wacky D and there's no question I can dance. Dance in my pants, and in your face. Yeah, my rap is a disgrace. But I can dance! I got sun, I got shine, do back hardcore cuz I'm goin' for mine. Did I mention before that I can dance? I'm wacky D.
@MisterSleep: Hey I agree it's ridiculously hilarious. But I'm almost definitely certain that wasn't their intention when making the film.
when i was a little boy, I loved street fighter the movie....Thank you for ruining that memory, with this one song.
Van Damme is awesome.
Ooh my god ... great find
@Video: Best music video ever? Yes it is.
@MisterSleep: Yeah, that was pretty great. Forgot about that one.
@s]-[iO_keN: Hahahaha, that's terrible, but I lol'd.
