All the way this morning ago Telltale games announced that they'd be publishing an episodic WiiWare title starring Strong Bad of Homestar Runner fame. This video gives you a first glimpse into what I'm sure will be a blast to play on the Wii.
Hit the jump to check out excerpts from a very cool FAQ about the game featuring Mr. Lucha Libre Head.
What is Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People?
SBCG4AP is a new episodic game series starring Strong Bad and the rest of the crew from the Homestarrunner.com cartoons. The games are being developed by Telltale Games, the same company who has been tirelessly turning out Sam & Max episodes since 2006.
Who is Strong Bad? What is Homestarrunner.com?
Homestarrunner.com is a cartoon created by Mike and Matt Chapman in 1999, and Strong Bad is the series' most popular character. He's an awesome guy who enjoys answering emails from random fans, beating up his younger brother, and messing with people. It's kind of hard to explain. Just visit homestarrunner.com and see for yourself.
(Oh, also Strong Bad was voted Sexiest Man Alive by Salon.com. Which is a little weird, since he's a cartoon character who goes around wearing a lucha libre mask and no shirt, but we try not to be judgmental.)
Who is this game for?
Attractive people.
No, really. What will the gameplay be like?
These are story games, with weird plots and tons of dialogue conceived through a mind-meld between the guys who make the Homestarrunner.com cartoons and the team who brought you Sam & Max Seasons One and Two. In each SBCG4AP episode, you take control of Strong Bad and interact with other characters in beloved locations such as Strong Bad's basement, Bub's Concession Stand, and The Stick. Besides talking to other characters and messing with their minds, you'll also get to dress up in funny costumes, check email on Strong Bad's trusty Lappy 486, and play arcade-style mini games such as the timeless Snake Boxer 5.
Are you doing anything special for WiiWare?
SBCG4AP was designed specifically for WiiWare, and we're cooking up some fun ways to use the controller. We'll also be taking advantage of Wii Connect24 with some special features that will tie the episodes together and let you communicate with friends.
Okay, I want to check it out. Where/when can I play it?
The five-episode season of SBCG4AP will kick off on WiiWare this June. SBCG4AP will also be released for PC from our online store, both as individual episodes and in a full season bundle. (More details on the PC release coming soon!)
How long will I have to wait between Strong Bad episodes?
Episodes will be released one month apart, giving you just enough time to play through the game, dissolve into fits of mad laughter (and potentially freak out any cats or small children in the vicinity), poke around and find all the hidden stuff we crammed into the game for your amusement, and tell all your friends how great it was before it's time to start on the next one.

Ok, looks odd. . . .
At least they get the "episodic" part right....for now
Well I'm not a fan of the series, never got into it, but if it's Telltale I'll try it out.
top notch. count me in.
Strongbad gives any game and its home system instant street cred. I shall forever never again (yes, both at the same time) have anything bad to say about the gamecube 1.5 with waggle.
No, really, I'm getting this game as soon as I get my Wii... Which will be after I graduate...
Oh, yes, this will be win. Telltale is quickly becoming my personal money magnet. :D
I demand that there be a presence of Trogdor in at least one episode, or at least hope.
Yeah, saw this earlier. I'm psyched!
Though I hope it doesn't REALLY asplode my Wii.
Thought they were going to keep the flash look. Surprised they took the 3D route actually. Lets see how it turns out.
They've nailed the look of the characters. Had to look closely to realize it was toon-shaded models and not just flash animation.
@J. Kyle: I disagree - Homestar just looks deformed. I would've preferred flash...this chunky 3D-ness is just not doing it for me.
looks NEAT
Greatest (wiiware) game ever?
I think so. At least for fans of the series it will be, and I am.
Be a fan since almost the beginning of the website, and I'm glad that a game is finally being made. I want some sweet cuppin' cakes though!
@bobtheduck: I guess if you call the wii a "GC 1.5" you should call the 360 "PC 0.7"...
We need more Dangeresque. Strong Bad trying to be an 80s action show PI would be the exact gimmick to carry a few stories.
"tons of dialogue"?
So either:
A) its subtitled, which would be really lame (I doubt this)
B) The file size is huge
C) The sound is super compressed and sounds terrible
D) The game partially streams, which could be what they mean by taking advantage of WiiConnect24
What do you guys think?
@Aethyr: do you realise he looks deformed cause he's posed in the sorta sad look he gives, right??
THIS IS FREAKING AMAZING
(my username is an obscure HSR reference)
Just saw the trailer at the Homestarrunner site.. I think I just had an orgasm..
@JimElNino: According to TT, the simplicity of the models help quite a bit with filesize.
2003 called, they've requested their Internet shorts be returned as soon as possible. In the awesomest way possible. With the most awesomest crap in the world on top of it.
Okay, so I like Strongbad. Sue me! And 2003 didn't really call. It was 2004. ^_^
I'm all for this but whats the price?
so... is all this content going to stream? or is it being downloaded onto the wii?
Thank the Gods this is coming out on PC! I didn't want to have to buy a Wii just so I could play this, because I love Strong Bad. :)
Wow, seems interesting enough to actually spend some money...especially after the playing the crap-fest that is Mario Kart Wii today....seriously, lousy game.
@DeLoRtEd1: And the sad thing is I recognized it immediately. Silly Coach Z.
Cannot wait for this game. Seriously.
Oh, they btter manage to fit in some Teen Girl Squad into this somehow.
Trogadagadagadagador.
Thank you Tell Tale! Between this and Sam and Max, I can FINALLY use the 2 gig SD card wasting space in the memory slot of my Wii.
@mquest:
"I demand that there be a presence of Trogdor in at least one episode, or at least hope."
I think you meant Senor Cardgage, no?
@DeLoRtEd1:
"(my username is an obscure HSR reference)"
Nothing Coach Z related is obscure.
This looks really great!
ooooooh, I'm so thankful they are releasing PC versions...Strongbad would be a strange reason for me to buy a Wii
That "Strong Bad Gameways" video on the Telltale site does an awesome job making fun of the Wii's safety screens that we've all seen over and over again.
I don't see any Burnination!!! Oh well, still worth checking out.
@Aethyr: I agree, I would much prefer the glorious 2D flashness. probably even over amazing HD graphics.
come on fhqwhgads
Man, they keep piling on more reasons for me to buy a Wii.
The videos on Strong Bad's blog are hilarious! I expect the same humor for the game! Is it going to cost $20 like Sam & Max? Or cheaper?
@Mohrdikai: How would that be in 3D though?
I'm kinda excited about this game, and I'm not a fan of episodic gameplay.
BTW, nobody said these were in-game graphics whatsoever. Like Strong Bad said, he hasn't seen any yet.
Though I'm sure they'll resemble his concept art.
HOLY CRAP
I'm so getting this
If this is the kind of fare I can expect from Wiiware then I am totally on board!
I donno. I've never done Sam & Max so that's out the window. However I did endure the bugs, lags and crashes of CSI: Hard Evidence for the Wii, to which has me worried about this game. Will Telltale get their crap together and make something Strong Bad, or will the game's performance be utterly Strong Sad? Will it sweet like The Cheat, or will it make gamers Strong Mad? I can't say for sure, but the CSI game did come off like they had no clue on how to develop a title for the system, even if it was nothing more than a port.
PC version? Sold. My Wii internal memory is already filled with crap.
Damn... LOL.... I totally forgot about this characters.... I used to watch this show.... STRONG BAD RULES!!!!
Wow!
Blast from the past!
sam and max team AND the chapman brothers doing the dialogue.
that's the stuff of instant win right there. :D
i just got like 10x more hyped about wiiware. awesome!
This is causing fits of excitement that border on "pant-soiling."
man, i hope theres stuff to esplode.
troGDOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!!!!!!!!!!!!
For some reason these screens make me think of Hard Gay. Not sure why...
Hard Gay game plx ;)
Yahoo Search Hard Gay for a laugh. Or YouTube search it. Or whatever.
