What in this video is supposed to show that this isn't the closed beta that people have had access to for a while now? It says that it's version .8.3. Looks like this was released to closed beta participants in late February.

Actually from what i hear that guy just deleted home and followed the route of the @home glitch. From what i read someone said that he was part of the beta already. He has been in it for about two months or so. :/

Also near the 3 minute mark there is a date that appears would be the date of his download and it is 2/21/2008. The link I referenced above was from 2/26/2008 and he posted the video on Youtube claiming his leet haxor skills just on April 7th.

I'm actually in the closed beta. I doubt this is real. It's possible that this guy is in the closed beta and is just doing this for attention. Another possibility is that it's a fake. I found it very suspicious when he turned his camera to the very right near the end of the video so you couldn't see the screen. If it was real, the person either took this video a week ago or he simply got lucky. If he took this video recently, he should have been prompted to update to beta 0.8.6 so maybe it's a fluke and he was allowed to enter home.

Yeah, a year late. Anyone remember public beta was supposed to be in 'summer 2007.' The closed beta began in April 2007, and only NOW they're getting around to opening it up. Woopty doo. Who the fuck cares anymore? I can't believe Kotaku got blackballed for revealing this 'huge news' when it turned out to be such a load of boring bullshit in the end.

I've actually gotten this to work somewhat, I can't actually get my ps3 to download Home, but I think it's a firewall issue.

The icon is under network on my ps3 right now. It just wont download.

I was able to install and launch Home, but was greeted with an immediate update requirement. After updating (which from what I understand was just put up within the last day or so), launching Home yields nothing apart from an "copyright protection" error.

It looks like Sony has already locked this exploit down.

I'm calling fake. I'm in the beta, and the interface is all up to snuff, but when he scrolled over, it displayed that Home was already in his Games tab, and it was last modified on february 28th. There was a fairly large content upgrade around that point, so I'm guessing that was the date that happened. This guy is just a beta tester fuckin' with y'all. He'll be one of the many who will change his avatar into a fat chick and chase you around "waving a hand in the air like he just don't care" while you're trying to get used to the interface. If you have no idea what that means, don't worry! You'll find out soon enough.

I've enjoyed my time in the beta, but I'm really looking forward to seeing it flooded with people.

this is totally fake, first, it says he downloaded it on 2/21/2008 when news of this proxy download only hit in the past few days. Second, it looks like he just downloaded some Home thing and then launched the CLOSE beta that he was already a part of (v..83) as opposed to the version people are downloading now v1.0. And to round the fakery out nicely, his camera has Blair-Witch syndrome which makes it impossible to see what the hell he's doing.

this is a fake video, period. The person that actually managed to get a "public beta" copy of home, had a version number of 1.0 this states (at 3mins 42secs in) that it is version 0.8.3 which is the current "closed beta" version. Nothing to see here folks, move along...

This guy is NOt i repeatr NOt in the public or closed beta. If he was on the playstation web forum it would say home beta tester next to his name which it doesn't. Also that old one he had he did the warhawk trick with it but wasn't able to get in it. i belive this is true but he is not a beta tester.
