I'm not sure whether to like this guy or to hate him. He is on G4, which is a pretty biased station when it comes to video games, but i respect his growing appreciation for ps3 games

On another note, I really like his take on things and how he adds humor to his show. I wish they would bring back some of the bits they had on X-play in the past, some were very silly but still funny, and although now the show does a better job at staying current it is missing that part of it.

@Scazza: I liked when he ripped that psychologist who complained about Mass Effect.

I seriously doubt that the industry is so stupid as to think that the reason remakes with tired actors do poorly is because of video games.

As a side note, I'm getting GTA4, and I'm going to go see Iron Man. Probably at a midnight showing, if they're doing that sort of nonsense. I swear, Iron Man will likely be amazing.

i am soooo sick of G4 and if it weren't for the one show I watch "X-Play" then I wouldn't even tune in. Adam is old but cool in a geeky way..Keep doin the dam thing Adam..great post...now back to Assassin's Creed for PC....the best version out there.

Are you kidding? X-play's ratings are god awful; they rated Uncharted a 4/5 because they said that the "aiming and platforming parts were often too difficult". Anyone who has played the game would find this utterly hilarious. It always seems like I'm able to shoot an enemy from 100 yards with a pistol as if it's a sniper rifle, and the platforming parts are generally quite simple. Even if you die unexpectedly, the game checkpoints so often you're literally only 5 seconds from where you left off. As far as the general idea he's conveying about GTA though, yeah he's right.

I would also like to point out that his other half on Xplay, Morgan Webb, is an ugly skank. I don't understand how guys like her, or people in general. She's talentless and needs to be slapped around a bit with the Kotaku fish. In the face.

okay, yeah, the farrelly bros are full of shit, but this ain't that. this is a tentpole superhero movie summer release and it's the EXACT SAME DEMOGRAPHIC as GTA IV.

Paramount is pushing Iron Man *extremely hard*. I work in comics retailing, and I got a call from Paramount's PR department, asking if we want to do some cross promotional events for the film. In explaining this to my boss, he wondered why they're pushing so hard when the buzz on Iron Man is like 99% positive--seriously, if you work in comics retailing and encounter no complaints about Latest Upcoming Adaptation, they must REALLY be doing something right. It wasn't until I got off the phone with him that I realized it was to do with GTA. Paramount isn't Fox (Heartbreak Kid's studio), and they aren't "blaming" games so much as looking at GTA as legitimate competition for first-weekend box office grosses, and they are fucking right mood on for doing so. high school kids and dorm rats are going to drop 65 bucks retail and spend the weekend with GTA IV, electing to save a little money after their purchase, intending to catch Iron Man the next weekend. Unfortunately for the studio a lot of the perceived success of their films comes from the first-weekend boxoffice numbers. Paramount is bending over backwards to ensure you take a break from Niko's exploits to spend 2 hours of your may day weekend with ol' Shellhead.

In other words, this guy's a little off-base. GTA IV does constitute MAJOR competition for Iron Man.

I've only met him once, but similiar experience... No idea what the heck he waqs saying, I shorta just nodded and smiled, luckily Morgan was there and translated (in a sort of way) for me. It was a beautiful thing... but not as beautiful as she was!

Why hasn't anyone pointed out that Sessler named Wrong Turn 2 as a good innovative film? I think this weakens his argument quite a bit.

As much as I HATE Sessler. This rant was pretty much the best thing I've seen to come out of G4 in like....Ever.

I completly agree with what Sessler said. Its not Bungie's fault that Halo has more fans than an old and very uninteresting movie. Perhaps Hollywood needs to take a look in the mirror to find who's fault that was.

Anyway I also do plan to see Iron Man. GTA4 will be at home when I get back.

Why does sessler suck?

His stage presence lacks authenticity and in a bit of paradox also lacks shine. Morgan web reflects poorly on him. There have been several shots where I've seen her mouthing her que card response while he talked. He often stutters and slurs through things he's obviously reading. His eye contact with the camera is consistently bad.

An example of poor craftsmanship from the above example:

"So today's topic is not cooooomepletly game related," complaining about your own monologue as an intro to said monologue is a rookie mistake.

This box office argument isn't his. It's obvious and its been stated by kotaku and others earlier and better.


I don't think less of Mike Fahey for liking him.
