even though i don't have Halo 3, let alone an xbox, this looks like it's worth the DL for those who love the game. nice maps and features.

also, why does forge have a "budget" anyway?

@Akmed: Forge had a budget because you can only fit so much stuff on map. The engine can only render so much before it starts to chug.

Btw there's an infinite budget glitch (although you still have the item constraints, so you can't put like 20 flamethrowers on the map)...

Yeah I can kinda see why they put a limit with certian items now that I think about it.

Imagine what might happen if you had like a full game with everyone using flamethrowers in the same area and such.

Very nice Vidoc, makes me excited for the maps. A couple weeks of cod4 maps, a couple weeks of halo 3 maps, and then GTA. April's a good month.

I'm not a Halo fan, but that's a great vid. Really funny.

Bungie has always been good at the whole public relations thing.

Best Vidoc yet! Great looking maps too. If you like the old games, Sidewinder and Lockout are the best of the best so I'm happy to see them remade.

Of the three, I thought Ghost Town was by far the most visually appealing. Avalanche and Blackout looked cool, but a little bit lifeless. Still can't wait for April 15. :D

Love the Gears of War Filter comment. But it does make it look a bit more GoWish though, so hey, I guess its not all bad.

Aaargh, I hate it when devs make a game I don't actually care all that much for seem really exciting and cool. I'll get online all giddy, and come crashing down a few matches later...

A shame really, I love all the online options with Halo, and I WANT to like it, just something about the aiming ticks me off.
It like too rigid or something. (my epic suckage at Halo miiight have a little to do with it, though not that much)

From a design standpoint, Blackout seems exactly like a Phantom Dust multiplayer map.

Wow, now I'm even more excited for these maps after seeing that! April is turning out to be one hell of a month for me; CoD4 & Halo map packs, GTA4, and Mario Kart. I've said it before and I'll say it again: why does all this sweet shit come out right before finals?!

@haihn7: That's a staff-only option. Only Bungie employees get the flaming helmet OF DEATH.*

These maps are full of epic win. First story about Halo on Kotaku in a few weeks that wasn't completely decimated by haters before somebody said "hay guise!, I think thats cool"

When I heard the Manos theme I had to go check if somebody had MST on in the other room. Best nerd ringtone evar!

All in all I'm pretty excited about these maps. Although two of them are remakes I think theres enough new stuff in the sandbox to make all seem new again.
