For Kotaku's ever-growing chef contingent, this Zelda-inspired cutting board is built from the finest (we don't really know if it is the finest, but it sounds good) walnut and hard-maple wood for chopping as many leafy vegetables as it takes for gems to pop out. We know the $125 price tag will prove too hefty for some, but for what is surely the world's first foray into unlicensed, triforce-themed cutting blocks, we can't complain too much. Besides, we'd drop that amount in a heart piece if it included a bundled Master Sword Ginsu. We apologize for the lame puns. We're all done now.

culinary and video games, my two favorite things combind.
*Groan* on the horrible pun title.
But that is a pretty good looking chopping block, someone spent some quality time building it.
The puns are what made this post awesome, no need to apologize.
People would never use a wood cutting board if they ever cut one in half.Ugh,it's disgusting..Still,I use one for my fajitas receipe..
Wewt!!! This is one of my best friends...check his blog w/other cool video game woodworkery here:

I love the Zelda series... I love cooking... I love it as much as Merrill does...
+ Watch video
Wow, this is beautiful! While it's not as sanitary as using a plastic cutting board, if I had the money, I'd be all over that.
@Seabass:
Dang Seabass, your friend has some really good woodworking talent. Perhaps he could try a Mario Bros. mushroom cutting board next after his space invaders one.
@rhinestonedarling: Agreed. Who couldn't deal with a little e. coli for this thing? Top notch work.
@rhinestonedarling: I think the increased risk of cross contamination and food poisoning is worth it, just for the fanboy element.
Amazing work, and it's an end grain board, which will improve it's durability.
Many praises.
@MistahJGM: Not a bad idea, throw some comments on his blog w/suggestions.
I can attest he makes really really quality stuff.
@LittlestLamshi: I watched that entire video.
Thanks...
best pun ever.
"Triforce Cutting Board, Now You're Playing With Flour"
Mark, you're one crafty sum'bitch.
@PGGB:
Agreed!
*GASP* YOU GUYS ARE HILARIOUS! Flour... XD
@LittlestLamshi: I used to live around the corner from Little city. I'm pretty sure that guy went to my high school(Palatine HS) as well.
Wow it's sold out. Well at least I don't have to think about whether or not I need it.
@LittlestLamshi:
What in the hell was that?
@Molbork:
The coincidence is uncanny...
125 golds? Thanks, but it's cheaper if I made it myself.
That would go great with my Question Mark Block herb garden planter boxes.
--Majeen 'Hryuu'
…Now I need to make Question Mark Block herb garden planter boxes.
That pun was so bad it wrapped around into hilarity.
@rhinestonedarling: @MajorMcMuffin: @enewtabie: The wood vs. plastic thing is not as clear as you think. There are just as many places saying that plastic is safe as there are saying that wood is safe.

In the end it comes down to personal preference.
@everyone:
besides, the way you all talk about cross-contamination, you'd think the whole world would have died of salmonella by now. The world is septic, LOOK OUT! But it's ok, you have an immune system!!!
All this needs is a Master Sword knife set.
@Benzido: Good point. People have been using wood for many years before plastic existed.
I never thought I would get in to a cooking discussion on Kotaku. Weird.
that pun is beautiful
Also, wood has natural bacteria killing properties whilst plastic does not.

k, I suggest we keep tabs on the puns in the articles and then, at the end of the year, we vote on the best puns. Seriously, "Flour", that's gold.
@MistahJGM: Aw, come on, it was witty.
@juliopalio: I don't think it's the wood that has the bacteria killing properties...I think it's just the power of the triforce!! ME:1 LOGIC:0
Sold out T_T
For even more pun fun, "Now you're cutting with flour." Less actual product in the package turns directly into more profit!
That title made my day.
Hey everyone, I'm the guy that made the cutting board. Thanks for the positive feedback! I put 4 more of these up on Etsy if anyone is interested. I'm open to other pixely ideas for new stuff, and I'm happy to make a custom board for someone, so let me know if anyone has genius ideas. Contact me at cameron at 1337motif.com Woot!
I want it, but I don't use the cutting board I have anyway =P
sweet but i don't like wood cutting boards for meat only veggies and the like,you see the problem with wood is that it retains a lot of bacteria from the raw meats and that can contaminate your veggies and fruits and we all now that's not good but it is indeed beautiful in a nerdy Zelda fanboy kinda way.
Woohoo, Now I can nerd up my kitchen with useful video game related junk, instead of useless video game related junk. Sweet!!!!!
want.
@SirNirian: that's why you have multiple boards, particularly an extra plastic/stone one for meats. wood cutting boards are great for a ton of reasons, i love to use them for putting out spreads and dips for appetizers when i host dinners. this one would make my roommates who know it laugh, and probably just look pretty to everyone else.
