Phoenix Wright rival Miles Edgeworth is getting his own DS spin-off, Perfect Prosecutor. The DS title co-stars detective Dick Gumshoe as Edgeworth searches for crime scene evidence that coppers missed in a new third person walking search and deduction system. Walking in an Ace Attorney game? What the?
Another shoot after the jump.
Thanks Kired for the tip!

Excellent. News.
I love Phoenix, but it was starting to get a little stale imo.
Gyakuten Saiban meets Final Fight? ;D
Awesome. Going to be great to have a chance to play on the other side. Alsogood to see Edgeworth and Gumshoe again.
Man. I called this to the Phoenix-Wright obsessed girlfriend. There will be jumping and glee.
DO WANT.
I will fail every case on purpose.
Phoenix never gets stale! What are you talking about rob!
Madman...
This is going to be the greatest thing ever. I knew not buying Apollo Justice would pay off somehow!
Oh hell yes!
I was wondering when they'd do a prosecutor one. I'm glad it's Edgeworth and not one of the Von Karma characters.
Is this a port of an old Ace Attorney game or a new creation?
Slowtaku is at it again.
I want it, but milk is getting expensive these days.
Looks a lot like an adventure game!
Still it better be more fun that PW's investigation segments. The court room is always where it'll be at though. Should just do PW with the roles switched, Edgeworth prosecuting obviously evil criminals and a fiendish defense attorney trying to get them off. I see it now...
it's so weird to see people standing in the scenery..
I see a new character for Marvel Vs Capcom 3.
(I know I may never see a MvC3, but let an old man dream)
@Witzbold: It certainly does look like it huh...wouldnt that just be great?
Walking in phoenix wright would be wierd but, I cant see how that would hurt the game in any way so im all for it.
With the fame of Miles Edgworth this title could get more attention than the Ace Attorney ones
(it if has a good gameplay...)
I'd rather have more Phoenix, but this will do fine.
And although fanserve as it is, it blows my mind in a really strange way.
I want it now!
@Romaen:
Got something against Franny? I sure as hell hope Franziska Von karma is in the game. Stupid Franny and her sexy whip..
'Miles Edgeworth: Ace Prosecutor' localised version :P
Sounds like a great way to freshen the format to me, and it should be interesting to be on the other side of the court for a change! I wonder if you get a case up against Phoenix Wright?
This looks fantastic!
Nice way to shake up the series, looks like there's not going to be much in the way of the courtroom drama and more point-and-clicky style gameplay, which is cool. Edgeworth was an awesome character in the PW games! I always hoped he'd get his own game at some point! :-D thank god they're not completely abandoning the old characters!
I wonder when this takes place?
I'm hoping it's somewhere in the Apollo Justice era. After that game, I had a real craving for some Edgeworth.
...is that creepy at all?
This. Will. Be. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU CAPCOM!
Yea! Back when the second game came out I thought they should make one where you play as the prosecutor. Haha, I was right all along.
Walking? Hmmm... Well, I love me some Edgeworth, so why not?
Heh... They're running like the Tenth Doctor. Obviously this will be more epic than Ace Attorney!
The world must be going crazy.
Delicious.
Hopefully they put the English localization on the Japanese release again. I'm not sure I want to wait for a release this side of the Pacific.
Miles....<3
Will there be a shrug, shake head, fingerwag minigame?
@Archaotic: Dude! Get Apollo Justice! The last chapter of the game is definitely worth the purchase. If you're worried about playing as someone other than Phoenix Wright, I hear you. But trust me, there are so many little inside jokes and you get to see Phoenix in a little different light. Phoenix does get his time to shine in the game.
@emag: If they ported it to Wii, yes
Thank God they're going back to the old games.I loved the first game, and the second game was pretty good, but the third game got really old, really fast, and it was HORRIBLE! The humor got stale, and I quit the fourth game halfway through because of the huge amounts of bullshit. It's like everybody in the damn game suffers severe retardation. As if they're trying to market the game to third-graders.
The Edgeworth parts were always my favorite ones, because he was actually NOT DUMB. He was a realistic character to a certain extent.
hmm, maybe this is their way of trying something out in safe waters before potentially applying it to the main franchise?
Nice to see they trying something a little different..
Ooooh boy, Edgey <3
My favorite Phoenix Wright character. Can't wait for this.
Still need to play Ace Attorney though...
@Ashurahori: lol.. the greatness of the fourth game is in the last case.. it's better than all the other cases together..
Edgeyboy and Gumshoe....together again!!!
@Tizlor: Indeed. Looks great!
So, no court scenes, or did I misunderstand? Hmm. Not sure about that. Regardless, if it's by the same team, sounds like a pretty safe bet.
I would also say that I hope (being slightly more obvious in its similarity to the old Sierra style graphic adventures) this opens the market for more DS adventure games but um... that's what I said with the success of the existing Phoenix Wright games... so, probably not.
@CockroachMan: They told me that the last case of the third game was the best case ever in the entire series, and when I did play it, it was like brain torture. The plot made no sense whatsoever. The entire case could have been solved by telling a little girl NOT to commit murder, and they had a 2-year window to do it. >_<
Humor in adventure games is good, but only when it's witty. Phoenix Wright humor is horrible.
Gahh - finally - I hope Edgeworth will get signifficantly more respect than Wright and Justice, as I am sick of all the verbal abuse other games laid down on the player from the word go. The best part of the original Ace Atterney trillogy was playing as Edgeworth, so I'm naturally uber-excited about this, doublly so because the walking-thing.
This is great. After finishing the three Phoenix games, I was thinking that the cast of characters was way too good to abandon regardless of how good or bad the Apollo universe will be. Edgeworth would be at the top of my list for a spin-off, so this immediately becomes the #1 game I'm looking forward to. Hopefully they won't diminish his character with a bad walking animation.
Also, the second shot shows that Larry will be returning too. Oy.
Great news! Just beat PW3 and about to get into Apollo!
Now to play as Edgeworth! Awesome......
FUCK, THE FANGIRLS, THEY ARE COMING
@Hyperfludd: Already here, now I just need me some slash-fan fic :D
@Mezodon: Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's not Larry. It's Dick Gumshoe.
@vizual3y3z:
The last case in ALL the PW games is always stupendously epic. The rest of the game is just there to build up to it.
@Ashurahori: As a fan of the entire Ace Attorney series, I am very curious. Could you please elaborate on why you felt AA1 was superior to AA2 and AA3?
Woohoo, more Edgeworth! I guess now my only question is - where does it fit in the timeline? I'd be especially interested if it was taking place during the Apollo Justice timeframe.
Speaking of which, this game looks cool and all, but I still want Apollo Justice 2!
@Hyperfludd: I am fangirl, hear me squee!
