These are art, not shoes, because unlike the garish-yet-limited run of expensive designer sneakers we normally feature, these are hand-painted. Which means getting them wet or performing any kind of strenuous activity is just totally out of the question. As is wearing them to literally kick a man's ass after a heated bout of Smash Bros. Though hopefully there's one or two moral reasons stopping you from doing that before you have to actually consider "cracking the paint on my new custom Chucks" to be the one that keeps things civil.

These are good enough to put in a glass case and never use!
Very nice stuff!
comission? how much?
Holy crap those are KICK ASS
I'd never wear them out though
Link's sash is the wrong way, he would be right handed if the thing was correct.
@juliopalio:
They are $250. Too much for me. :(
Beautiful. But yes, too pretty to wear.
Now THOSE are shoes I'd pay fifty bucks for.
[cgi.ebay.com]
Link to the auction.
@LandMineLandSnake:
Quite apart from the fact that Link is left handed (bar Wii Twilight Princess), don't be so pedantic! Or go paint some better ones yourself...
@LandMineLandSnake:
Ouch. Really sucks when you put so much work into something only to find out you overlooked a minor flaw. =/
Very nice. Certainly wouldn't want to wear them though.
not wanting to promote but there is a guy

That hand Paint's the nintendo converse.
I bought a pair for $200.
Wore them once to a little dinner party, and I will never wear them again, they have sat in the box since, tehy are just way to nice to wear.
Although the artists "mag" says that they are fully waterproof and will stand up to anything, nothing can stand up to the outdoors.
Freaking sweet!
That is totally hot. As someone who almost exclusively wears Converse these days; those are something I would purchase and wear daily.
There *must* be some way to fix the paint to prevent the average wear and tear. Wearing them in the rain would be out of the question of course - but wearing cons in the rain never really works anyway thanks to the eyelets in the side.
Too bad they're not mass produced. The ebay auction starts at $250, and even though it's probably worth it, I'd actually want to wear these. I don't want shoes for a museum.
...want...so...bad
Wow, these are really nicely done, I'm impressed!
@LandMineLandSnake:
But he's right handed in Twilight Princess and ambidextrous in the 2D games.
At least the ones I make you can wear... :-/
Very impressive. I can't say I agree with everybody saying they're too nice to wear though. I'd totally sport these everyday that I could. Just wearing them outside could be considered public art.
Not to be picky, but how about an updated Brawl lineup edition?
I would like to see a man who can keep civil after game two hundred and three of his brother flat out REFUSING to use any character other than pikachu in smash bros. Can't win with another character? TOO DAMN BAD.
Kids, the only way to solve problems with siblings is with violence.
...and those are nice shoes
I'd have to wear em and jump in a nice mud puddle just to piss off the fanboys. Would be funny as hell seing a kid dive over the mud in front of me just to protect Mario and friends.
you know how i know this guy is high-class? Pirouettes and Wasabi peas.
Dude didn't you show these shows like a year ago
@sugarbear: Yeah... one can holds my paintbrushes and the other holds my Ad markers!
Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, I'm glad you like them... if you ever need a unique gift or something hit me up, I'm always looking for something to keep me busy!
@swordfish2eva1: "MAG"'s shoes were actually the major catalyst for painting these! IMO, all of MAG's shoes are seriously lacking in the quality control dept. I saw them and thought they were pretty much crap, thought I could produce a better product and decided to try my hand at painting my own take on the Smash Bro sneaker.
I actually hope that MAG is reading this, so he sees what a shoe that has the proper time and planing put into it looks like. MAG, your on notice! Your lunch is looking pretty tasty right now!!! ;)
@swordfish2eva1: No, these were painted last week...
OMG....i think I'm giving up Stileto's shoes in return for these kicks
@Hedgeworth: I not going to say that these shoes wouldn't hold up better sitting on a shelf or in safety deposit box, however, the paint I used was actually screenprinting ink, which, as you probably know from washing your t-shirts, holds up pretty well under most conditions. The shoes are even heat-set to make sure nothing runs, and on my next pair I may investigate means to protect them even more with a fixer or clearcoat of some kind!
SOLD!!!!!!! now they just need to make them water-proof and be able to withstand some dammage and they would be perfect.
Now, I usually ignore shoe articles, but those are just wonderful. Not something you wear, unless you don't walk, but still wonderful.
I would totally wear the hell out of those if they were officially comissioned at the reasoable price. Very awesome.
I'd feel like a retard if I ever wore those. I don't understand this guys buying shoes like women trend thats come about. And 'kicks'? wtf?
A really nice collectable, sweet!
Where I can buy wan!
You could seal the paint with a waterproof gel acrylic but then it would be super shiny. Also I be concerned about the paint cracking. Def nice to look at but impossible to wear:)
I would wear anything with Ness or Lucas on it.
@Draven:
Uh, the eBay auction. Duh.
People should read more.
I'd buy those if I wasn't typing a post in a box on the sidewalk.
Amazing, if only they could be mass produced... I'd buy 2 pairs, one to wear and one to showcase :D
Ugly ass shoes.
Damn, I'd totally buy.
I actually liked those Nikes featured around the time the game came out...they had a subtler design, so were also something I would actually wear and not quite feel the need to protect. And that's saying something, because I really don't like Nike, but I felt the swoosh was actually the perfect touch.
On that note, these here are some artful thangs!
@mizzocd: u don't wear chucks. lol i saw u carry that sileto hard cover book today. those kicks are MINE
i think someone has too much time on their hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
