If that I-beam fight shot is real, then I'd love to see the sequence that got those players on the beam in the first place. That must have been epic.

Ok, if there is any way to play multiplayer with the equivalent of UT's "Mutators" and add superpowers to the game, I may have to add some large, possibly 3 digit, exponent to my already ridiculously high excitement level for this game. As in, it may go from a single platform purchase to me needing to also own the PC version, etc etc ;)

Now I'm scared though. Is it possible for one month, April 2008, to just be too awesome? I feel like there has to be some bad to balance it out at some point....

God, and of course rockstar has to do this to me...April 29th You can't come soon enough.

Its bad enough that the guys at work and I are already planning on what we are doing after we get done with the midnight launch for GTA IV. MP all night...gonna be so insane

Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand what's great about online play in a GTA game ! For me it's just the "It's not playable online so it sucks" gamers pressure that pushed Rockstar to do so.

Maybe my imagination is broken but I don't see how online GTA could work great !

It's not fair that this comes out a week before finals week...!

I assumed the multiplayer would only take place outdoors.

ignoring the INSANE amount of AWESOMELY AMAZING stuff this game has to offer, Is anyone else slightly disapointed by the graphics? I mean, some of those textures look really bad... and jaggy. But like I said, that is about the ONLY think I can say that isn't absolutely positive about this game. And btw, Getting this game on day one. Loving it more and more.

@Orin: I don't see the jagginess you're talking about. In some rare instances things don't look as polished as other games, sure...but do those games offer this level of detail and content? If they had to back off a little graphically to include so much extra awesome, I say "do it".

@Orin: Expecting a game this huge and complex to look as good as smaller, more controlled games is an exercise in futility.

HOLY HELL. It looks likes an official version of San Andreas Multiplayer mod. My hype meter was just amped to 11.

ok correct me if im wrong, but do the names "RS NYC 1"/"RS NYC 2" mean that these people are playing split screen online on the same box? I'm assuming that they are just the names that Rockstar NYC are using for the testing, but if there is like 4 player splitscreen online I am going to have a Orgasm.

This game has crossed the boundary of how awesome anything can possibly ever be. It's going to create a vortex in space-time because it's too awesome to exist.

@eastx: When 2 players are on the same box using one gamertag, the "real" player will be labelled as just the tag (ie: dowingba) and the guest player will be listed as the tag and the number "1" in brackets "dowingba(1)" and so forth up to "dowingba(3)" if the game can handle it.

I think the best decision of my life was taking this year off uni.

Is it me or do quite a few people here have to jump some type of academic hurdle before the game comes out.

If so then I sympathize with them. I got so much crap to take care of that it just makes the wait so much longer.

@dowingba: Oh yeah, I totally know that. I'm all about games that allow multiple people to get online from the same console. But it's a rare feature.

I can't look at the first picture without thinking of West Side Story.

I'm genuinely surprised at how great these look, though. GTA's never really been my thing (the last I touched was the third one back when it was released), but IV looks to be slowly creeping it's hand into my wallet.
