Smash Bros. Dojo To End Daily Updates Next Monday. This is it, folks; your last week of daily brain droppings from Masahiro Sakurai on the official Smash Bros. Dojo. Hopefully, Mr. Sakurai and the fine translation team at Nintendo will make the effort to freshen up the content now and then, giving Super Smash Bros. Brawl owners news on post-launch happenings. The Dojo actually broke the bad news last Monday, but it's taken us this long to come to terms with the fact that we'll be doing the Dojo Dump for the last time this Friday. Off to have a good cry!

Wow. For some reason that is sort of depressing. It was entertaining and somewhat informative from week to week.
Whoa. I lost my bet. They are going to close the site BEFORE releasing it in Europe.
Just... Wow
sad...well it was fun till it lasted, right?
@Fulgurator: PLEASE DONT GET IN THERE
I stopped visiting the site once I got the game (US).
Good, maybe they'll fix the site now so everything isn't "OH LAWD, YOU KNOW YOU'RE ABOUT TO LOOK AT A SPOILER RITE?"
It's going to be hard to break the habit of not going to the site daily.
It was fun until the game came out in the US. The dojo did its job, and I bid it farewell until the next smash brothers!
Well I was expecting for Mr.Sakurai to annouce the release date on April 1st as a joke, but I guess we may be lucky for next friday. I mean, come on nobody looks on the site unless there in Europe, because everbody else has the damn game... Damn you! *Shakes fist at Sakurai*
Sakuraaaaaaaaiiiiiii!!!!!!
The hype for this game was almost as fun as the game itself.
Mr Sakurai : FFS, Europe.. I've put years worth of collectable stuff in here, but I've already run out of stuff to yap on about!! Get the damn game out, already!!!
Whoever thought of the dojo needs one helluva pat on the back, I think this is the most effective marketing ploy that has ever worked on me. Plus I think it was the funniest I have ever had waiting for a game.
@Green-clad Gamer Dude: You uh... do know that there's a check box you can click and it'll just skip that question, rite?
Or are you running some crazy Linux system where you view everything in text. Here let me help:

Got it?
Hopefully the last update will be a fix for the online and the release date for the brits, poor guys waiting so much for this game.
BUT!! BUT ITS NOT FUCKING RELEASED IN EUROPE! FOR GODSAKE WHAT IS THIS!! *bangs head on wall* well at least Rock band is out!.....wait....FUCK
Why are they still doing this? The game's been out for a month with everyone pretty much already beating it.
@2NinjasTapedTogether: It's more than just that. I'd like to see you go over to the characters section and name off all the secret characters without leaving the page.
You're not off to cry. Admit it. It's been really, really boring having to repost all the stuff that everyone found out before the game even launched. This is the end of tedium! Rejoice, Kotaku editors! Rejoice!
maybe they won't even be releasing this game to PAL. good thing I have my NTSC version arriving sometime this week.
I'm going to miss it. It was fun checking the dojo every day hoping for a new character or something. Once the game came out I checked it maybe once a week. And now...
See you in seven years Sakurai.
Unless Nintendo decides to offer some DLC and we get a new character in a few.
This is kind of sad. I remember the first day I got on the Dojo and it was the musicians and How To Play update.
So many moments of pure awe experienced on that site.
@Hion: Ditto - the joy and confusion that came from trying to figure out how Pokémon Trainer or Olimar would play in the game were a lot of fun, and kept me occupied while I was waiting for the release date to finally arrive.
This saddens me, as I realised I've actually been reading the Dojo for way longer than I've been playing Smash. While it wasn't quite as fun as delivering a reverse Warlock Punch to an unwitting opponent, it was always a good read. I really liked the personality that Sakurai put into the site, and I'm going to miss reading the little posts about this that and the other. If it were just a general Nintendo news site I'd go on reading for years...
Here's hoping that whatever he moves onto next will not overlook his considerable charisma and siterunnin' skill.
(It's a shame, when you think about it. If the game had more online stuff, they could keep the site going for ages with replays, contests, etc.)
I'm going to miss Sakurai's wacky writing voice, ("We made this stage for obsessive compulsives... I wonder if there is someone who could beat it without taking damage!") which is probably really just caused by literal translation of Japanese-to-english, without fixing the tone or something. I don't care what the source was, I just know I'm gonna miss his little jokes told in a formal voice.
Its always sad when a game's site "dies", I don't know why but it is. Even Fan sites, going through the links page at source.bungie.org for example is like looking at a graveyard of fan sites for old bungie games like Marathon and Myth.
I do look forward to the next game Sakurai is involved in, hopefully they'll bring a similar level of engagement to the table that they did with this site and Smash.
The Dojo's been the first thing I've done when waking up for over a year now. What am I going to do with my life now?
The Dojo was some of the best PR/Dev Diary/blogging i've ever seen done by a dev before. It really spoke of the effort going into the game and how Sakurai knew how to give fans love in his own special way. I hope to see future Nintendo titles do this, but I doubt it simply because nothing else comes close to Brawl, save for maybe Animal Crossing, which hopefully we'll see this year...that along with Wii Fit will keep countless systems moving and oddly enough would be perfect for Nintendo's forarys into the net.
I hope it ends with another set of snapshots.
Sakurai, Sakurai, Sakurai... See ya in another 5 years buddie! :'(
@Green-clad Gamer Dude: Here this might help. List of all hidden updates.

Tears will be shed over the large gap in my bookmark toolbar.
@Green-clad Gamer Dude: A day late here, but...
Good call! My bad!
I'm really piss at this game because the online is horrible. I can't find anyone online@!
