Poor Uwe Boll. Beat up some game nerds and making some shitty movies and suddenly everyone hates your guts. What gives?! Some folks dislike Uwe so much that they've created an online petition hoping to do what online petitions typically do: Nothing. That, or convince Dr. Boll to stop making crappy movies. Ha! From an interview with website FEARnet:
Are you aware that there is a petition online, signed by 18,000 people, requesting that you stop making movies?
Yeah, I know that. 18,000 is not enough to convince me.How many would it take?
One million. Now we have a new goal.
If Uwe Boll did not exist, someone would have to invent him.

It's already up to 26,000 signatures.
Where's Billy Crudup when you need him?
where do I sign?
I'll sign a thousand times from a thousand different computers. Also, it should take one person to make him stop making movies seeing as that is how many people actually show up to watch his filth..
(Also, I'm FINALLY starting MGS 2)
Its doubtful that he'll stick to his word. He didn't with the boxing stunt and instead just used as an excuse to beat up unexperienced teenagers.
What kind of totalitarian undercurrent are we dealing with here?!
"You can't make movies. You really shouldn't even exist."
Who ARE these clowns?! At least Uwe Boll is doing something he likes. Can't say the same for the petitioners, unless they're true masochists and useless online petitions float their boat.
That poor man, time to start the anti-anti-uwe boll petition-petition.....
he makes horrible films! like 99.9% of hollywood filmmakers!
just don't watch them?
I thought he already stopped making game movies, anyway?
I wouldn't want Uwe Boll to disappear. He's a bit pigheaded, but his unintentional (or maybe intentional) comedy rating is through the roof. He brightens all of our days with his ludicrousness (did I make a new word?)
Anyway, at least he doesn't go on Fox News claiming that Counterstrike and its ilk are murder simulators. Uwe is harmless.
Is it me or in that picture does he seem to liek getting hit by chicks? Bloodrayne was alright, at least the jail sex scene.
So you´re willing to make someone else disappear instead of fighting him with better movies? At least he is doing something while other people are.. oh, wait.. making online petitions... If there´s a afterlife what those guys would say?
"hey what was your achievments when you guys were alive?"
"I made movies that everyone hated but at least I tried"
"I hm.. made an online petition so he would quit. and we succeded. horray..! I also worked on a job that I hated"
"You had a job?... I did nothing, you see, i was very rich, my family supported me my entire life... But I also voted on his petition because I love games, and movies, and those movies sucked."
"dude if you liked movies and games AND was rich AND did nothing, why didn´t you tried to make one instead of complaining about them?"
"er, I like to WATCH them, not to make ém. yup. Im lazy and proud of that"
"oh."
Uwe Boll is confident, with good reason.
With over 6 BILLION people inhabiting earth, you will be hard-pressed to find 25 THOUSAND individuals who even know what the hell an Uwe Boll is, let alone 1 MILLION.
@itduzzinmatta:
Those are contradicting statements....
I don't want him to stop.
I've been waiting all my life for the next Ed Wood.
Where is it!? I need to sign this.
@itduzzinmatta: Halo sold 8 million copies, I'm sure we can get 1 million to sign this petition.
"
Why did you decide to make fun of yourself a bit in Postal?
To show that I'm a little Nazi pervert."
DO FUCKING WHAT?!
He's a nazi pervert?! Holy shit.....we've GOT to stop this man.
You people seem to think that House of the Dead, Blood Rayne, Far Cry, etc. were Citizen Cane masterpieces to begin with that he ruined.
I support Uwe Boll because he pisses off prissy, deluded, tunnel-visioned gamers.
Make that -1 vote on your petition.
@djbooba: ...and what a conquest that would be. *rolls eyes*
Of all the things wrong with the world today, you're deciding to choose to fix the apparent problem of Uwe Boll first?!
That in itself is indicative of what's wrong today. A certain amount of lack of perspective.
@elevenoverzero:
*Kane
Point stands.
@djbooba: People are aware of Halo. Uwe Boll... not so much.
Look, I stand by my statements. There's just one guy who went to see The Transporter Vs. Lord of The Rings and he's running multiple instances of a script that keeps signing the petition multiple times.
Boll and Thompson get more comments/hits than Kojima and Molyneux on this, and probably several GAMING sites. It's kind of sad, actually.
So much hate for someone who is living his life, and not harming anyone. It's not like he's making the movies illegally... someone is selling him these licenses. Why not hate on them?
I feel bad for this guy. Everyone, listen! I want your attention, mighty intrawebs. Please leave this guy alone. He's not doing well right now! Everybody who wants a piece of him has to go through me!! I mean it!
/leave Britney alone.
@pylon_trooper: it took me all of 10 seconds to sign the petition. I can spend the rest of my time helping the rest of the world now.
See, this will never succeed, because not only do we have to wrangle up a million signatures to stop one man, but we have to find some way to deal with all the people who have funded his filmic terrorism. All tens (possibly even hundreds) of them. Say what you will about "Oovuh Buhl", but at least his cinematic abortions put cash into his pocket. I don't know that there's a way to properly, legally, deal with human beings willing to throw away money and two irreplaceable hours of their lives. Stopping the madness at the source would be ideal, but a new head will always grow from the bloody stump. The only real way to stop it is to destroy the game franchises themselves before he does, in an ultimate act of self-sacrifice. It may very well be that EA is our only hope.
Get rid of him? Who else would we ridicule for making crack-induced ludicrous statements, like Harrison Ford no longer having box-office draw and deciding to open "Postal" on the same day as "Indiana Jones IV?"
I say someone start a petition to KEEP him around, just to provide comic relief for the world...
...but until then, I'll sign the petition to keep him quiet. :)
the guy is a straight up douche bag who only makes these movies because they are easy money. he doesn't give a shit about making a decent movie or the process of it. if he truly wanted to do it for art he would make more original adaptations (seeing as the whole gaming community hates what he is doing) and not rip so many other movies off.
haha, but seriously, where do I sign? any links?
I can translate this and get 40 million Koreans to sign this
Uwe Boll is one of my favourite people in the gaming world
@jinpei05:
and I say we shouls make an worldwide online campaign to go watch that damn postal movie instead of indiaja jones, just to make the guys that are spoiled with so damn much money jaw-open and see the producers in disbelief at an unforseen event.
I coudn´t care less for both movies.. stupid fanboyism is tearing the world apart.
Ruin and chaos!!!!! Promote new stuff by buying new crappy tuff I don´t care! Just for the sake of it. lol
@frostcircus:
Lol! I wanna make an online petition to George Lucas stop directing films. But oh wait, he already doesn´t. He hires other people now and take the cradit. dang.
Oh Boll. Hating him feels like kicking a puppy.
After watching Postal (It's actually been out for some time over here), I certainly feel the urge to have Uwe Boll disappear, but then again only some other bad director would come and make bad video game movies and it's very hard to beat Uwe's ridiculousness.
Some points to consider when you're signing that petition:
1) Boll may be guilty of making crappy movies based on video games, but NO-ONE HAS EVER MADE A MOVIE BASED ON A VIDEOGAME THAT DIDN'T TURN OUT CRAPPY.
2) There's rumors and buzz that Postal's not half bad, at least in the sense of other low-budget satires like Idiocracy, etc.
3) If Postal indeed turns out to be even half-decent, that would make it the best videogame -derived movie ever.
4) Bonus: the people who got beat up by Boll in the boxing ring KNEW THEY WERE GETTING IN THE RING WITH A TRAINED BOXER AFTER SPENDING CONSIDERABLE EFFORT AT RIDICULING AND TAUNTING SAID BOXER. Who's the idiot in THAT situation?
The Uwe Boll -hating is getting tiresome. Even in the relatively meaningless world of games there are bigger issues to get your panties in a bunch about.
@psychicfriend: Silent Hill says hi.
Someone needs to make a "hang in there, baby!" poster with Uwe on it
I may hate Boll's movies, but I kind of like his attitude sometimes...
"Yeah, I know that. 18,000 is not enough to convince me."
This made me realize that I really can't hate Uwe Boll. He's doing something he likes doing. What right does anyone have to say that he shouldn't. He's not hurting anyone (without their voluntary consent, at least).
So he sucks ass at making movies. So he's a total douchebag in the boxing ring. If he can convince both a movie producer and the owners of a video game IP to let him make a movie, where do any of us get the authority to say it's "wrong."
@wilson576: It really doesn't
i HATE Uwe...i really do
but we need him around, so tha everybody understands:
MAKING MOVIES BASED ON VIDEO GAMES IS JUST WRONG!!
thats all i have to say
peace out
@wilson576: After seeing the Silent Hill movie, I wondered, what it would have been like, if Uwe Boll directed it.
@Len Bias Cocaine Surplus: hell yes. Now all we need is MST3k to start up again and we are golden.
And here I thought that you didn't like a movie, you just don't go and see it. What's the issues with gamers and petitions trying to influence things they don't even have the right or moral imperative to influence? I can't help but to look at this foolish phenomenon with a critical eye after the whole DMC4 fanboy foray.
If he'd be gone there's just be another person to make shitty renditions of all our favorite stories...
I like his name and I feel sorry for him because of his mental problems.
@psychicfriend: Pokemon: The First Movie wasn't to my taste, but was a wildly popular and successful movie that children enjoyed, and that my young cousin and her friends still watch on DVD. If staying true to the source material and engrossing your target audience are measures of quality, then it succeeded in spades.
@Lemming To The Sea:
I second that statement,
Internet polls always work
@Lemming To The Sea: Michael bay is waiting in the wings

Wait so is he proud of how crappy his movies are?
@svexo:
Amazing isn't it...
