Those are a couple of amazing screenshots and some useful info. But did they seriously put the trailers and even the Altair April fools video up as "Gameplay videos" in that article, or am I missing something?

I just got back from GameStop with my DVD and the code inside for the online beta -- available 4/17 -- can't wait.

@Candlejack: Somehow I doubt they are just going to remove a model from the game if they already added it, and the video does feature a ton of gameplay, so it is perfectly reasonable for them to keep the Assassin's Solid video.

@Wyld: I was considering holding out to see if the game would appear on another console, but at this point I would have to say it appears 100% exclusive. Not only has Konami repeatedly denied it was multi-platform, but with this PS3 MGS4 bundle it looks like Sony has worked out a really good deal with Konami. Plus you have to remember that the game maxed out a dual-layer blu-ray disc - would Konami really bring this game out on another console knowing it would fill 10 DVDs? I highly doubt it. If the very remote possibility of the games going multi-platform turns out true, the game wouldn't be realeased for a long, long time.

At least I'll have something good waiting for me in the year it takes me to amass enough $$ for an HDTV and then PS3 (damn you lack of monitor component cable!)

Honestly... I have no more interest in previews for this game. I know I'm going to buy it, and love it. Why ruin anymore of the game for myself? If I read all the previews between now and June 12th, there won't be any surprises left for me to enjoy. :/

@Wyld: Yea my buddy has a ps3 and he plans on getting it so I may just invite myself over to his place with a sixer and play a couple of missions for him.

@Babygames: If they are as bad as gamepro, we can only hope the ban hammer hits hard. Apparently when it strikes here every comment is crushed into a thousand pieces, each one with one thousandth of its original value and then re-posted on gamepro and IGN to be lauded for its wit and insight.

The wait for this game has taken years off my life. And so far, all of the info from people that have had hands-on time suggest that it is one of the first games to live up to the hype surrounding it. That's saying something, because there is a LOT of hype behind this game!

Lol @ the ones waiting for it on another console. It was a given that it would have been 100% exclusive, expecially since the PS3 is picking up momentum against the direct competition.

On a brighter note, the game looks incredible. Not that I'm any surprised, but it's nice to see it confirmed.

I've always wondered about the filled the disc remarks re: MGS4. It'll be interesting, once the game's out, to see if it's filled with unique data or if you have a situation where data is saved in multiple locations on the disc to help reduce load times.

With so much talk of filling-up the disc, I'm sure that we'll know around the time of the game's launch.

If they did fill it entirely with the assets required to run the game in one language, without having redundant data all about the disc....that's pretty cool.

I don't have a PS3 right now, but I'd really love to play a demo for this game and have it feel as fresh as MGS did back in the day. I remember hearing about a new Metal Gear game and playing a demo in-store and swearing to buy that title once released.

I haven't really cared about a MGS title since MGS1. If the westernizing that Konami has done to this title is really well done, it could give me that same feeling....which would be awesome.

@Luv2Hate: They actually don't reveal too much...they are just saying that it's going to be awesome and will be a system seller and the damn salvation of the PS3 :P

Why him though? There's way better (and more interesting) choices. What about Young Snake, just for the sake of it. Or the Master Chief (don't say it). Maybe Raiden will be playable anyway, but he would be a nice addition as ninja. Sam Fisher.

Loving how you unlock more weapons and ammo by collecting ones that are dropped. Definately going to try to unlock all 70 guns in the game.

I didn't know GamePro was still in business until this post. Did not like the article much or the other two,("10 Things About Fable2" & an interview witha Sony Marketing guy from GDC), I read while I was there either. Now I know to never visit that site again. Terrible and juvenile.

@Candlejack: There's a very simple reason for that, if it is true, as you might recall, the lovely Ms Raymond got the chance to interview our man Hideo, and the two really hit it off, so there.
I personally, loved Assassins and thought Altair was cool.

@Candlejack: I'm pretty sure that they just edited the robe that Snake has on in the beginning of the game with Altair's things. It may be an unlockable camo, though. That might be what will happen.

@mescalineeyes: I know she had a conversation with him. I still think Altair in this game is a retarded choice, there's much better. It was cool as joke though.

And I'm not a fan of AC, but I liked the core gameplay a lot. But I will start hating the entire division that made it if they killed off Prince of Persia for that.

Multi-platform MGS4: Not for a while. Not for a long long while. MGS3 is PS2 only. MGS 1 and 2 went multi-platform years after they were released. Given the close partnership with Sony on this I doubt it'll be easy to bribe Hideo and crew to port it. By the time they will port it your 360 will have red ringed so you'd buy a PS3 anyways (Mine RROd, damned MS! send me my replacement already!). I already have a PS3 so it's a moot point for me.

Of course I have all 6 major platforms(wii, PS3, 360(RROD), DS, PSP, PC)! So if they come out with a great game I just buy it.

I still strongly believe that the Metal Gear Solid series is one of the best in gaming, and the story is the greatest in video game history by far. I can't wait for MGS4

You know MGS4 is not the only reason to get a ps3 you know. It has a lot of games. Now if you happen to want one, this game is a good reason as any to get one. I read it all and I can't wait. So far all I have been doing is getting info on the MGS series as well as getting the Essential collection - SOON.

It was a brilliant plan... Let them play through the entire game but restrict them from talking about it... I would call that extreme vitrual torture... They also left out a few key cutscenes, making it even more unbearable... I pity them...
