So this is the first weekend for Owen Good, our new weekend editor. I used to work with Owen back at the Rocky Mountain News when I was a night police reporter and he was a night general assignment reporter. Well, those were our titles anyway. Really everyone's a police reporter at the Rocky eventually.

I'm pretty sure he'll get up to speed quickly, leaving me to once more mill about my house in a bathrobe uninterrupted. Ah those were the days, hours of shuffling around, staring out windows, pretending that the Internet hadn't been invented. I look forward to their return.
