One day I hope to be half the video game shoe connoisseur that Crecente is, but I'm quite a long way off. For example, when he saw these Pac-Man-inspired kicks from British clothing company Ben Sherman, I very much doubt there is a measure of time small enough to quantify the time between the initial page load and check out confirmation. I, on the other hand, waited for several minutes, hemming and hawing over $60 for a pair of canvas sneakers that I will probably never wear for fear of scuffing them, like the Asteroids Pro Keds I picked up last year. Oh well, I suppose there's only one thing for it. *closes eyes and places order* If you don't see yourself buying them it doesn't count.

eep, Not my thing. That Asteroids pair looks pretty cool though
Mod fashion meets video game aesthetics. Must own. They even match my Lambretta.
Looking forward to the feet-on impressions.
FUCKING STYLISH!!!! WOW!!! girls will be falling over the guy that wears these bad boys!
Apparently you "cose[d]" your eyes while typing that entry, too. Oh, and those are ugly shoes.
Just ordered these. Thanks for the tip. I have the asteroids ones, too. They surprisingly hold up pretty well, but I don't wear them everyday.
im gonna have to bow out until they come out with some zaxxon shoes.
Those are a lot nicer than those tetris shoes. Yet, something about shoes like these just screams "emo" in a voice that should be saying "Fabulous!"
@Tommy: Thanks for pointing out the typo in such a friendly fashion!
*fixes*
If only more commentors were so considerate!
I think they're pretty sweet, but I'd never pull them off. Not because I wouldn't look good in them (oh I so would), but because I haven't perfected my dismissive hipster sneer and eye roll -- the required response when anyone refers to my shoes in any manner positive or negative.
Speaking of pac-man related clothing, I found some pacman underwear for girls the other day in Primark of all places.
If those were Converse Chuck Taylor's, I'd hit it. The only canvas shoes that touch my feet are chucks!
See me if you want my (unworn) pair of Size 12 Asteroid Sneaks (Pro Keds). Since they were out of size 13 (ahem)...(Thanks Mike...) :(
Weren't these published here months ago? They're hot, nonetheless.
Once again those of us with Giant Feet (18 US) are left in the cold...:(
Oh well, just make sure you let me know if you ever DO see some cool kicks in my size range ;)
Whoohoo they sell them over here too!
It's a shame they say Ben Sherman on them.
@1981suede: What's wrong with Ben Sherman?
"We don't ship to addresses outside of the United States. We apologize for any inconvenience."
Boooo!
They just lost out on $300, because there are about 5 people in our office (Canada) that wanted to order these. Too bad, they're awesome!
I just purchased these bad boys! I love ben sherman shoes they are nice! The clothing however... kind of plain. But these are just too good to pass up.
I even went to our local Ben Sherman's and they never heard of these shoes there.
They're pretty sweet! Too bad there are never any damn gaming sneakers in girl sizes! : ( Men and little kids get all the shoe fun.
@DaiMacculate: Don't feel bad. Apparently really small feet (US male 5) have also been left out in the cold. I checked the girl's section to see if maybe they carried them there, and of course not. Girls don't appreciate video game apparel!!
*runs off to hug her many shirts and jackets made for men that have game stuff on them*
Ben Sherman stuff normally isn't my thing... but these are nice.
Sadly, I just bought a pair of pinstripe trainers, and I really like them. Moreso than these.
Oh well, maybe next time I'm looking for something to wear on my feet I'll see if these are still around!
@Mike Fahey: sorry man, I was feeling snappy. It was a good entry otherwise, but those are still ugly shoes.
Actually, those shoes look kinda uncomfortable...and I bet washing them, when you accidently walk over grass or something, is a bitch.
Nope, no way I am going to buy those. If they were only decent sneakers...
Finally, videogames shoes for under $100! I am all over these.
@EvilFiek: Dude, they look just like Vans, which lots of people wear. They're not for going running in.
@DaiMacculate: Aww dude. But you can't expect them to make it in sizes that wouldn't get enough sales.
....even though theyre a british manufacturer...they dont list these on the british ben sherman store?
what is this faggotry?
@Naif: I'm not British, but I wish you wouldn't use that word here. The one that's a gay slur.
man i bought these (size 11) and they are WAY too big.
i wore them once and will sell them to someone for a deal because i want to buy them in the right size. be careful when ordering i ASSumed they would fit like vans slips on ie: tight. but they don't!
these are actually game shoes I could see myself buying :D
too bad about the US only shipping though. Dumb.
this is not the first video game theme shoes from Ben Sherman.
they had space invader shoes a couple years back.
Nice shoes! ^^
@eastx: No trust me, I got over expecting things to be in my size a long time ago, and I usually wouldn't even comment on it...I just really like these ;)
Those shoes are a things of beauty. Too bad their in men's size. Does anyone know what a size 11 in women's translates to mens?
Poichissed!
Tip: they have them at Zappos too, for $4 more but with helpful comments from previous purchasers who noted that they run a full size large.
if i were a chick- i want those...
@TheDollHouse:
Women's sizes are normally two sizes above a man's shoe size so a woman's 11 would be a 9 in men's.
I bought the space invaders pair, and its tough keeping them a shiny white (should have been black background, white characters? But I gotta say these things are really comfy and breathable. except when your walking on uneven ground, you might as well be walking barefoot. but saturday walks to the mall and school wearing on a hot day, these are the tops for the job.
Nicer than the Xbox 360 shoes...
I bought these after the first post about them. Payed the full 60 at the Piperlime store. It was totally worth it, but they are big for sure, even the size charts on the page are wrong for their sizes. They still fit me but not well enough to wear every day.
I was going to post a pic, but I can't :(
Argh god damnit you have no idea how lucky you are to be able to just up and order these things. Getting them over here in Norway is a hellish prospect, and none of these "web stores" ship internationally. What the hell is up with shops that don't realize the internet is a global deal.
My shoe wardrobe is basically limited to what i can FIND, which isn't a hell of a lot of nice size 10s, i'll just put it that way.
Damnit now i'm sulky.
Double post!
It was on aaages ago - I have these shoes...
those are fugly as fug but hell if i dont want those asteroid ones.
I really don't like the 'trendy' video game apparel thing going on for all the scenesters.
@Majorasblaze likes to dance dance dance yeah: So all of us who like videogames shouldn't be able to express it by wearing stylish game-themed clothing? That is not the answer.
@eastx: I'm more than happy for gamers to do that, I just hate the fashionistas that couldn't give a crap what it's about and do it for the geek-chic.
Ah, very well then.
